Installing Planning Areas delivered with SEM 4.0

We have installed the Business Content from within the "Install Business Content" menu under RSA1. I think the cube was SEm_C18 but can't remember for sure since I'm not in front of the menu. Can someone help me understand how to install the planning areas that are delivered. They do not show up under the "Install Business Content" area.
I've heard that we need to install from client 000 but that does not seem logical compared to all the other content we have installed. This was not taught in the BPS class. Any help for our company would be appreciated.

Hi Richard,
The process is different to the normal BW process, instead of installing it directly on your client, you have to select the process in client 000 and then import in your working client.
The process is as follows:
1) log on to client 000 of your BW system
2) goto transaction UPB_APPL_IMPORT (in client 000 of course) and click the planning function you want to install the busines content of
3) run transaction UPB_APPL_IMPORT; this will generate a transport request
4) release this transport in client 000
5) import in the working client
Most of the planning areas are defined as remote planning areas, you will receive an error if you try to access them.
Switch to local planning areas in the planning area.
You also have to install the BW transactional cubes, this can be done using the normal BW business content transactions.

  • Copy Key figure data between two planning area with different storage bucket profile

    Hi,
    I have a DP planning area ' PA1' with monthly storage bucket profile data view 'PA1M' ( monthly TBF) and I want to copy the data to another planning area 'PA2' whose storage bucket is weekly. This would need me to write a custom program which will split monthly to weekly and then populate 'PA2'.
    However, In 'PA2', I created two data views 'PA2W' (with weekly time bucket profile) and 'PA2M' (with Monthly Time bucket profile). If I am able to copy the data from PA1 (PA1M) to PA2(PA2M), it will automatically splits monthly to weekly in PA2W.
    So my question is if there exists a way I can copy key figure data from PA1M to PA2M? Any BAPI?

    You can use COPY/Version Management Function to do this.
    Path: Demand Planning > Environment >Copy/ Version Management
    The system takes into account only those periodicities that are common to both planning areas.
    For example, if the data is saved in months in the source planning area (PA1) but in months and weeks in the target planning area (PA2)
    the system copies to months in the target planning area and then Disaggregates the data to the storage buckets in accordance with the Time-based Disaggregation.

  • Ending installment plan in collection dunning

    Hi All,
    My client has been using installment plans in combinantion with dunning using the dunning method for some time now. They also want to start using it in combination with the collection strategy. We have a hard time figuring out how to end installment plans at the correct time and make sure dunning carries on were it left of.
    Do any of you have any tips on how to do this in the BRF?

    As an addition to the information above, we know how the BRF works and are able to create conditions recognizing installment plans etc. Next to that we can link the dunning activity for ending the installment plan. We seem to have problems getting the dunning to carry on were it left off.

  • How to pick up installment plan in alternate bill (invoice)

    Hi,
    For a certain rate category (product), we are moving from monthly billing cycle to fortnightly billing cycle.
    Installment plans are already created for customers such that installment is due on 1st day of every month.
    As per contract terms, we can not break down installments further and should be charged only once in a month.
    E.g. installment due dates are 01.04.2011, 01.05.2011....
    Earlier this was charged once in a month, as billing cycle was monthly.
    Now when we move from monthly cycle to fortnightly cycle, installment is being picked up in each fortnight (though due date is not reached).
    E.g.
    For bill period 01.04.2011-15.04.2011, billing/invoicing is done on 15.04.2011, one installment is picked up corresponding to installment due date 01.04.2011. This is okay.
    For bill period 16.04.2011-30.04.2011, billing/invoicing is done on 30.04.2011, again new installment is picked up (which is due on 01.05.2011).
    Here we want to avoid installment being charged in second fortnight which is not yet due. This should be picked up in subsequent cycle.
    Please advise how to handle this, is there any event etc. where we can make some changes?

    Sachin:
    Look at event R411 for solution to your issue.  You can adjust line items pulled in for due date synchronization.  You might also reconsider the restriction of the IP line items since the items are no longer requested on same cycle as billing.

  • Load data from infocube to DP planning area

    Hi All,
    I have loaded the data from info cube to DP planning area keyfigures with the transaction /SAPAPO/TSCUBE.
    the data copy was successful and there were no error messages. However, the keyfigure values in planning book are shown exactly as double the values of infocube key figures for all the periods.
    I repeatedly loaded data several times and the behaviour was same.
    We didn't implement any BADI in standrad /SAPAPO/TSCUBE program.
    Could any one please give some hints what would be the reasons for this problem.

    I am not sure on how you check the Live Cache data for DP but based on your testing I can say that the old data is not overwritten by the new data in the Live cache. I cannot say the root cause for this however I can suggest you the remedy. To avoid this issue, you zero out the values of the key figure before loading from the Cube.
    For this you have to run a macro which copies zero for the entire horizon and then load the cube. First test this in test system, if it works (it should work), then to make it simple create a batch job with two steps, first step would run this macro and the second step will load the data from cube. you can run this job whenever you want to load the data

    The biggest difference in payment schemes such as budget billing and installment plans is not in the term, but in the purpose of use.
    Budget billing is created upfront for a certain period, using an estimation of the consumption to come over that period. It's used to spread upcoming bills in time (for example, based on your previous year, you'll have to pay 600u20AC in six months time, therefor we'll make you a budget billing already charging you 100u20AC each month until you receive you invoice).
    Budget billing is (always) deducted from your next invoice, after which a new bbp starts.
    Installment plans are used to pay off debt, after they are already invoices. Installment plans are made from open items, which are combined and redistributed over a couple of months. So, it's for bills you should already have paid, but for which you didn't have the money at the time. For example: you have two unpaid invoices, one for 100u20AC and one for 250u20AC. You cannot paid them this month and ask you utility company for a plan. They create an installment plan for 350u20AC, spreading this amount over 7 months, so you'll have to pay 50u20AC each month.
    Usually, there's no need to which between BBP and installment plans. They can be use indepentently and can co-exist for one customer. You can use invoiced BBP items in an installment plan (because once invoices they are just open items). You can also cancel an installment plan and retrieve the original open items.

                       I av created a datasource for the xxx planning area and saved in $tmp which is local package and cannot be transportable .and i would like to transport the planning area along with the data source.But before transporting the planning area along with the data sourse i av to change the package of the data source.I am not able to understand where should i change the package of the planning area and datasouce.
    Can any body help me out of this problem.

  • ISU-Installment Plan item in Invoice

    Hi,
    We are rolling out installment plan and were able to create the standard installment plan.
    The present Invoice has 3 heads i.e. 1)Current month amount, 2) Outstanding and Net Amount Due (Total of 1& 2)
    The business requirement is to add the installment plan items into this, i.e. 1) Current month amount, 2) Outstanding, 3) Installment plan item and Net Amount Due (Total of 1,2& 3)
    The dates of installment plan (say 3rd Aug) and Invoice due date (Say 30th Aug) will always be varied.
    Is there any way to add the installment plan item into the Net Amount Due
    Additional info:
    -Invoicing is always monthly
    -There is no Charges/interest/taxes involved
    -Its ok if the customer pays on 30th for Installment item due on 3rd (again since Charges/interest/taxes are not involved)
    -The customer can pay only the Invoice Net amount due (no option to edit this amount when he pays) which is driving this requirement.

    Hello,
    Installment plans are treated as short plans where in which the overdue outstanding amount is divided into 'N of items thus reducing the burden of the customer. Say if you have £100 Inv. You have agreed to collect the amount in 2 installments. You create Inst plan for £50 each using FPR1.
    Now if the customer is on Direct Debit, the above amount would be collected  when you run the Payment run using FPY1, Generate DME file and send to bank.

  • Why Toshiba notebooks are not delivered with the common Vista install CD

    Our household now has two x Toshiba laptops, both of which were supplied with MS Vista Home Premium pre-installed.
    The nature of the Recovery Media provided with these machines is such that (a) we do not have sufficient flexibility over volume/partition sizes, program locations etc., and, more specifically.
    It makes it necessary for the majority of the bundled software (Norton Security etc.,) to be installed by default in the event of a system failure. (And immediately uninstalled following recovery! An unnecessary waste of time.)
    Bearing in mind that a proportion of the price paid for each laptop must have included a cost for the Vista Operating System, does anyone know if it is possible to obtain a Master Recovery disk which ONLY consists of the operating system, and which allows us the flexibility of configuration which used to be available when the OS was purchased as a separate product.
    Additionally, please let me know if it is possible to purchase Toshiba laptops as a RAW machine, i.e no OS supplied, and I will then buy my own and cut out the rubbish which is supplied on the pre-installed media.

    The answer is very simple: software is bundled to hardware and when you buy notebook you buy license for preinstalled Vista version and you can install recovery media so often you want and it belongs JUST to your notebook model. It cannot be used with other notebook or PCs.
    If you get usual Vista installations DVD it can be installed on each computer system. For such purposes you must buy Microsoft installations DVD.
    As you already wrote Toshiba recovery image contains much software that can be not useful for you. You can remove it from the system and nobody force you to use them. I do the same.
    After clean OS installation the first thing I do is to remove or software I don't need or I don't like.
    I optimise preinstalled OS on my own.

  • Installment plan - Plans are scheduled and not paid , extend to other cust.

    Please clarify and suggest on Installment plan.
    We have query in Auto industry , where the customer buys the vehicle on installment basis ,and the installment plan is for 2 years . The customer pays regularly for 1 year and after an year , the customer is not paying the installment.
    There are two sceanarios .
    1.Installments not paid , how to close the instalment plan and how the payment procedure is closed
    2.if some other cusotmer want to buy the same used vehicle how can the instalment plan can be extended the other customer.

    Even if this was a direct to RIM forum what your carrier charges for a data plan and what data plans are available is beyond RIMs control.  Your issue is with your carrier in particular and Indian carriers in general.

  • Planning area data not matching with backup cube / PSA

    Hi friends,
    while loading data from planning area to backup cube , for the key figure ( result of a macro),the data in planning area is not matching with PSA as well as with cube.
    At the same time Data is matching at total level but not at disagregated level. And many times it disagregate in equal Proportion in cube/psa.
    Pls its urgent.

    make sure you have replicated the extraction of the data source. This is needed to ensure your backup cube gets the current data as in the planning area
    if you got to /SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR then you can see this button
    you can set this up as a program scheduled to run before the updation of your cube
    As for the disaggregation, test at what level you are choosing your characteristic? ( i suppose you can choose the level)
    Are you extracting at a detailed level or at the aggregated level
    Is your macro saving the data into a Keyfigure or is it an auxilliary KF or something?

  • SEM Planning Areas Error

    Hi All,
    We have recently upgraded to BW 3.3 Content. After the upgrade I am unable to access/change the Planning Areas in BPS0 transaction. I am getting a pop-up with an error message as Syntax error in program /1SEM/CL_CHALEV_100ZDIN=======CP. (ZDIN is the name of my planning Area)
    The error is only for existing Planning Areas. I am able to create new Planning Areas without any problems.
    I have already refered the notes - 528726, 412101 and 435425. But no luck.
    Has anybody faced this issue.

    Where is the Apple problem? I have CS4 and CS5 running perfectly fine on my Macbook Pro. Installed 5 after Lion upgrade. Worth every cent. Adobe did have some catching up to do with Lion but with the CS5.5 update all runs fine. But not yours. So it is a problem with the Lion OS? You say you have been with Adobe since 2005. So you would be aware of all the other issues that Adobe had catching up with past Oss in Mac and Windows then. They get it right, but it is up to them. It is not up to Apple, nor Microsoft for that matter, to run around and check that every software developer in the world is running their business properly.
    And what has politics got to do with anything. Some people just have to blame Software for their poor Hardware maintainence of failure of the same.
    <The only think I can really do is to go back on my old windows...give back this orrible lap top and ask for my money back!>

      I got this message after importing about ten or so H.264 files that I encoded from Adobe media encoder.  "adobe encore the software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. installing the correct decoders for the file you are working with may help correct the problem."
    The files we're shot with HD cameras.  Edited in Premiere Pro CS3.  I installed the update 3.0.1 with still the same error.
    I also tried a brand new project and after about ten or so files being imported into a timeline, the system crash.  I tried this twice....

           Here is the skinny.  A window base PC.  footage shot with HD sony HD cameras,  Project imported to Premiere CS3.  Once completed sent file to Adobe media encoder and render them as H.264 widescreen high Quality.  Imported them to Adobe Encore CS3.  After about ten files or so.  I got the error message.  Did all the basic trouble shoot like restarting the computer, got latest patch.  Even build a new test project with the same problem.
        Something else I read in the forums, is the encore will transcoded the project to Mpeg 2 anyway, after looking at my project I realized those few files were indeed untranscoded.  So it will be a double compression and I dont want that.  So, my new question is, what is H.264 good for ?????????? I was research that Mpeg 2 is a faster render but H.264 is a slower render but better quality.....
       what do you think ????
