Installing previous Blackberry software versions?

Just purchased a Blackberry Curve 8330 and need to install ver. 4.3 in place of ver. 4.5 which is currently on the phone. The reason I need to do this is under the "Options" icon and under "Mobile Network" and then "Network Selection Mode" with ver. 4.5 the only options listed are "Automatic" and "Home Only". Version 4.3 displays a third selection which is "Roam Only". Where I live my phone works only on a Roam network so by selecting "Roam Only" the phone receives and makes calls perfectly fine. Under "Automatic", the phone picks up the Sprint Network at only 1 bar of reception and the phone does not make or receive calls and will switch back and forth between the two sporadically.
Do I need to download Desktop Manager software or Device Software for ver. 4.3 to resolve this?
Also, what is the best way to install the software once I have downloaded it?

what you describe is how it is meant to be. Upgrading your OS won't change anything.
With Automatic mode, as long as you have network coverage from your carrier (1 bar IS coverage), then your phone will not roam.

You seem to have an iTunes problem and not an iPod problem.  I suggest posting in the iTunes forum.
    How areyou doing the download?

  • SAP BW Web 3.5 template on RIM Blackberry - Software version dependency

    Hello
I have created a simple Web 3.5 template to be displayed on RIM Blackberry 83xx devices.
It works fine, but there is a Blackberry sofware version dependency.
E.g. if Blackberry device has sofware version 4.2.xxxx, then it always wraps last column. There is enough space on the screen though.
If it is 4.5.xxxx version, then it does wrapping better, but still not perfect.
Did anybody come accross the same issue?
Any suggestions how to fix it w/o sofware upgrade?
    Regards, Kayrat

    Hi Roman,
    From Service.sap.com: https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/bifaq
I am planning to use SAP BW 3.5. Which BEx frontend and SAP GUI should I use?
SAP BW 3.5 requires the SAP BW 3.5 BEx Frontend. The SAP BW 3.5 Frontend is compatible with SAP GUI 6.20 and SAP GUI 6.40. SAP GUI 6.20 is upward-compatible with SAP Web AS 6.40 based systems.
How can I get the new SAP BW 3.5 Frontend?
The SAP BW 3.5 Frontend is shipped automatically with the SAP NetWeaver '04 software shipments.
Additionally customers can order and install the SAP BW 3.5 Frontend from the following CDs (can be ordered or downloaded from the SAP Service Marketplace):
SAP GUI 6.20 Compilation 6 (includes both the SAP GUI 6.20 and SAP BW 3.50 Frontend)
SAP GUI 6.40 Compilation 1 or greater (includes both the SAP GUI 6.40 and SAP BW 3.50 Frontend)
What options are available to upgrade my SAP NetWeaver BI BEx Frontend to SAP BW 3.5?
There are 3 options available for upgrading an existing SAP NetWeaver BI BEx Frontend to SAP BW 3.5 (assuming you have an existing SAP BW 3.x BEx frontend):
Apply the latest SAPGUI 6.20 SETUP patches, latest SAPGUI 6.20 patch, and the SAP BW 3.5 Frontend patch directly to your existing BEx Frontend.
Delete and re-install SAPGUI 6.20 and SAP BW 3.5 BEx Frontend from the SAP GUI 6.20 Compilation 6 CD. Apply the latest SAPGUI and SAP BW 3.5 BEx Frontend patches.
Delete and re-install SAPGUI 6.40 and SAP BW 3.5 BEx Frontend from the SAP GUI 6.40 Compilation 1 CD. Apply the latest SAPGUI and SAP BW 3.5 BEx Frontend patches.
How long is SAP GUI 6.20 and 6.40 supported?
Please see SAP note 147519 for details.
    Hope this helps...

  • Can't uninstall or install any Blackberry software?

I just loaded in my disk for the Blackberry User Tools, and therefore it installed the Desktop Manager, Device Manager and the Media Manager. Since this, I uninstalled Roxio Media because I didn't want the program, and now nothing works.
When I try to open Device Manager, nothing happens. My Blackberry Media Manager has gone completely, and I cannot uninstall the Blackberry Desktop Software 5.0.1 ... I really want to get rid of it and install a new version because it isn't working.
I tried using the User Tools disk, and it's not recognised anymore and the 'run.exe' isn't coming up like it did before. I can't uninstall the software due to an error 1500 (An install is taking place, wait for this to finish before changing other programs). I'm not installing anything!
I've tried to install new software, but I get the same error message and am stuck with lots of software that currently isn't working. Please help me.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I can't specifically tell what you've tried and not tried, so I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • How do i re-install the same software version?

Hi,i wanted to check for updates the 6290,the application found i have the latest version.(4.21)
But i want to install it again because it started having some issues after using it for so many years..
In Sony Ericsson update application there is such an option (install again the version even if it's up to date)
So what can i do for this?

..just for more clarity.. the Option will be visible as seen in the attachment..
but as already mentioned by aspergerguy it MAY be visible only if you have updated the device firmware atleast once..

  • Anyone experiencing wifi issues after installing the new software version 4.3.3?

It connects shows full strengh wifi connection but when i try and use the internet it comes up no internet connection. Wifi tested on all other devices perfectly fine. I have done a restore but still facing this issue? Is it an error in the new update or should i send it away for a warranty repair?

There is no new WiFi problem in 4.3.3 that I am aware of. Try your iPhone on some other WiFi networks to see if it has developed a problem.

Here is the KB article regarding this issue:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/dynamickc.do?externalId=KB03490&sliceId=SAL_Public&command=show&forwa...
Basically you go to start, programs, accessories and right click command prompt and select "run as administrator"  in the command prompt window that comes up type in regsvr32 vbscript.dll
You should get a message that it succeeded, if you get any other message be sure you are running the command as administrator.  If you are in the command prompt as administrator type cd \Windows\system32 and try the command again, if that doesn't work try cd \Windows\SysWOW64 and try the command again.  Once you get the succeeded message try to install the Desktop Manager again and it should work.
    Cheers!

  • Developer Suite Software Version List

I frequently need to install older NI software versions and have a library of several years of past NI Developer Suite Discs. Does NI provide a table of all the software versions and on which Developer Suite distribution they can be found?

Older developer suites contained cards that listed all the software and its version (and the version was in bold if there was a change from the previous developer suite release). I understand that maintinaing such a card, printing it and adding it to the disks may cost a few cents, but at least for the license agreement nobody seems to care about the cost for adding an extra paper in there  I could plaster an entire house with them by now.
rolfk: They still do... and you get a "nice" cover with too in every yearly major release.
Hmm, not here! I just get a card board box with a license document and a black fabric map full of DVDs but there is no printed list of software versions. I assumed this is because they decided to save a few pennies, but maybe there is something else going on. It is part of a multi user license, so maybe that is the reason.

  • I just installed the latest Apple TV software update today. I can still play music from my iPhone 4 to th eATV but purchased movies don't seem to start playing now - or else the buffering time is huge compared with the previous software version.  Any fix

I installed the latest software update on our Apple TV - this allows us to access VIMEO.  However, although we can still play music from an iPhone 4 we can no longer play purchased tv shows - unless the buffering process has been extended to be glacially slow!  It just shows it is loading but under the previous software release a show would start in a minute or two, nothing is happening afer 4 or 5 minutes with this one.

Thank you BDAua. This is what I typed and the reply from Terminal
    java -version
    java version "1.6.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_45-b06-451-11M4406)

BTW - this application does NOT show up in the Applications folder and I consider that a bit odd.
I also  tried typing Java for my computer to search for and this is what I got under

  • Can't install downloaded Blackberry Desktop software

I downloaded the latest version of the BB 8100 desktop software from the BB site to my computer. It unzips OK but when it starts to install it stops every time. Have exited every Windows program first.  Any ideas?

    Problem:
Similar but not the same as errors 2738 1607 encountered with installing blackberry desktop manager software, there is no error message here, simply the WinZip Self Extractor completes, then the Installshield Wizard opens and appears to be installing.  After several seconds, a BlackBerry window opens (BlackBerry Desktop Software - Installshield Wizard) with the message: "The wizard was interrupted before the BlackBerry Desktop Software could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.    Click Finish to exit the wizard.
    Solution(s)
Ok, saw this thread was un answered so I thought I would reply in case anyone out there has this issue too, it drove me mental for a week too.  (before you read on I am not responsible for any messed up computers, blackberries or anything at all! This  is a GUIDE that worked for me and not the law!) So, here we go… I tried many many things to fix this, I am on Vista home, berry 9700 bold 2, TELUS Mobility (doesn’t really matter), Blackberry handheld OS 5.0, Vista Desktop Manager 5.0.1. English without media manager/roxio w/Sp1 downloaded from blackberry. I tried just about everything you can imagine, know my way around computers reasonably well (or so my mom tells me haha) and uninstalled the previous version of desktop manager with REVO uninstaller etc...
Some of the other things I tried that did NOT work for me but MAY WORK for you are as follows, what ultimately worked for me was step C and all sub sections of, I might start there but I am writing this in order of things I tried.
Solution A) un/re registering vbscript.dll (in c:windows\system32) to no avail…click start, run cmd prompt (should open as admin),
    1. Start à Accessories à right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator. A Windows Elevation confirmation screen will pop up. Confirm the action OR alternatively just run CMD from Start àrun à cmd and it should run as admin
    2. The Command Administrator Prompt opens to something like the following- C:\Windows\system32>. If anything else change directory by typing this without quotes: “cd\windows\system32”
    1)     Now at the command prompt, which should be- C:\Windows\system32  unregister the vbscript.dll file from Windows by typing at the command prompt (without quotes) “regsvc32 /u vbscript32.dll” (This will un-register the VB Script dll with your computer. A confirmation window will appear after this)
    2)     Now we want to register it C:\Windows\system32 regsvr32 vbscript.dll (This registers VB Script with your computer -- a confirmation window will appear after this as well.)
    3)     Try rebooting and running your blackberry software install
Solution B) Everything on this site : This Blackbery Forum Post (great post, thanks! Hey, you might learn something here that will come in handy one day if it doesn’t help you now, I did)
Follow each step there, try rebooting and running your blackberry software install as indicated
Solution B.Longshot) If A and B don’t work, you can try a repair of vista using the recover cd (if you don’t have one go here: neoSmart (I downloaded and burned image with aShampoo dvd burning software, restart windows with DVD/CD in the drive, press F12 on boot (or whatever gets YOU into ‘setup’, not the BIOS, change boot first device to CD/DVD ROM. I used this and it works perfectly, just follow their directions on the site and pick the right version for your OS etc) be *VERY*CAREFUL to NOT wipe your drive and just do a REPAIR (can take an hour), again if you don’t know what you are doing, skip this one and move on.
What DID WORK for ME, is the following (SORRY FOR THE CAPS BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT *** DO NOT ASSUME THAT USING AN UNINSTALLER LIKE REVO WILL DO ALL OF THIS FOR YOU - THIS WAS MY MISTAKE from the beginning, 25 hours later I realized that YOU NEED TO DO THE UNINSTALL AND SOME MANUAL STEPS EVEN IF YOU SELECT THE MOST THOROUGH***)
This one, D, worked for me specifically:
Solution D) Uninstall the BlackBerry Desktop Software, preferably using REVO UNINSTALLER  go:  HERE to get Revo (CNET)
Use the Advanced uninstall option, thorough option, the last one down the list, this will notonly use blackberry’s built in uninstaller, but scan for remnants of the software on your drive and registry
When prompted select all and delete everything it finds, do not skip any steps, reboot, try re-installing the blackberry desktop software
You could try a similar type of uninstaller if you have one; however, I don’t recommend leaving it to using the control panel add/remove programs, I did not try this with that method
Solution D part 2) Once you have uninstalled and rebooted
    - Delete the Research In Motion Folders from the hard drive AND Registry
Browse to C:\program files\Research in Motion, delete this folder
    Click Start à Run.
Type Regedit, and then click OK. (Please be careful here, only do this if you have a good idea what you are doing, you can really mess things up here, go slow carefully please please please)
In Registry Editor, delete the Research In Motion folder located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\
Delete the Research In Motion folder located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\   (This key will supposedly be missing if you are removing Desktop Manager version 4.0)
Reboot, reinstall the Blackberry Software, issue SHOULD HOPEFULLY be resolved!! So there you have it. I am 99% sure one of those things will get you back on your feet....good luck,
    Good luck
I can be reached at 6packs at live dot com if you spot an error I can fix, otherwise please post to the forums!

  • I am trying to install a registered copy of Photoshop Lightroom that I never installed on my Apple iMac with software version 10.10.  I get the message "Adobe Lightroom 1.  Cannot be installed on this disk because a newer version of this software already

I am trying to install a registered copy of Photoshop Lightroom that I never installed on my Apple iMac with software version 10.10.
I get the message “Adobe Lightroom 1.  Cannot be installed on this disk because a newer version of this software already exists on this disk”
If it is here – I cannot find it anywhere, and I don’t believe that I ever installed it.
I have ordered the upgrade to Lightroom 5.0 and figured that I should install Lightroom 1.0 first.
How can I solve this problem

Actually when LR 5 starts for the first time after it is installed it will have a dialog to Buy, Try or Enter a serial number. You select Enter a serial number and enter the LR 5 serial number first and then because it is an upgrade serial number it will ask for the serial number of a Previous version. You then enter the LR 1 serial number.

  • This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes

I have seen others post this same question but the answers provided does not resolve my problem. My iPad Air is running iOS 7.1.2. I have been using this same computer for three years. It has Windows 7 home premium, service pack 1,  64-bit Operating System, Intel 3.4GHZ computer and 16.0 GB .  I used this same computer with my iPad2 for several years. I purchased an iPad Air a year ago. I never had a problem with either iPad using iTunes. About a week ago, my computer would no longer recognize the iPad Air. I thought it must be a driver problem or iTunes somehow became corrupted. I uninstalled all of the Apple products except for iCloud and deleted any Apple software left in my Program Files and Program Files (x86). I then downloaded from Apple, iTunes64Setup.exe which is a 110,833 KB program. I installed the program without a problem. It installed Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support and iTunes. These programs I had previously uninstalled. I then brought up iTunes.  I now plugged in my iPad Air and a popup message appeared "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes". OK, I did as instructed. I used the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then ran iTunes64Setup.exe. I brought up iTunes and got the same message. "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is nt installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes"  In general, I have found the Apple software to be robust and reliable. This situation however is very disappointing. I am hoping that someone has an answer that I can use to resolve my problem.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Mobile Device Support, won't install normally.
In your case I suggest you start with a clean download of the setup file using the direct link. If reinstalling AMDS alone doesn't work try tearing everything down again.
