Hello, I just received my copy of PS CS5 extended. After following installation steps, I get a message that says "some of the application components are missing from the application directory, please reinstall the application" please help!!

Did you receive any error messages when attempting to install?  Did you have Photoshop CS5 installed previously?  Which operating system are you using?

  • Exit code 6 when installing PS CS5 Extended with Win7

    Hi all,
I'm sorry to do this again, I know it is a fairly common problem but I've tried everything and still can't install.
As the subject line states, I'm trying to install PS CS5 Extended on a Win7 machine.
I had installed this same disk successfully on my old computer running Vista but now that I've upgraded my computer, I can't install this program onto it.
I have tried starting win in 'safe mode'
    tried 'run as administrator'
tried copying the disk onto the hard drive and running startup from there
tried the clean up file download
    tried fixing windows install logs
    tried switching off conflicting applications
tried uninstalling anything Adobe, cleaning and then installing
tried turning off all firewalls etc
    I'm really at a loss.
If anyone can help me out, that'd be fantastic because I am frustrated and just want to play with my photographs and have some Photoshoppy good fun!
The install errors I get are listed below:

Imogenhodson I would recommend running the Adobe Support Advisor to analyze your installation logs.   It will review the logs and attempt to provide a solution to your difficulties.  Alternately you can follow the steps listed in Troubleshoot CS5 and CS5.5 installation with install logs.  Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about the steps listed within the document.

  • Re-installing Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac)?

How can I download and re-install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac) for which I have a licence?  I lost the previous version in a disk crash.  I tried downloading the full Photoshop CS5 installer, but I was told I couldn't run the installer because I didn't have permission.
    Thanks,
    Rodney

Here is the link for the  CS5 installers: Download CS5 products
Be sure to right click and run the installer as an administrator if you have trouble. If it still fails, download the installer again.

  • Cannot install photoshop cs5 extended on 10.7.3

I am having an issue trying to install photoshop cs5 extended trial on my macbook pro. I was able to download the file from Adobe's website, but when I go to click to install and it asks me for my apple password, as soon as I enter it, the install freezes at 0%. I have tried it numerous times, all with the same result. I have to force quit the application. I am running 10.7.3 with no prior issues up to this point. Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Download and install this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1421
It installs Java which CS5 needs.

  • Installing Photoshop CS5 Extended Student & Teacher

I've just ordered Photosop CS5 Extended Student & Teacher, I want to know how many times I can install from the one cd because I'm worried that my laptop may "die" and then I'll have to buy a whole new copy of Photoshop.
I ordered my copy of Photosop CS5 Extended Student & Teacher from Cyclone Computers for $250.

Install, activate and register your software on your current laptop. When you have another computer, deactivate the software on your current laptop, install it on your latest computer, and activate it.

  • Can't Install Photoshop CS5 Extended

    Hi,
Just purchased a legit DVD copy of Photoshop CS5 Extended, and I am trying to install it on my Windows 7 Professional 64Bit machine.  After, I attempt to run Set-up.exe, the Adobe Installer comes up.  However, after a couple of minutes I get the following error message:
    We've encountered the following issues:
Installer failed to initialize. File not found. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
There is a link to "Get Adobe Support Advisor", but it seems like this tool is no longer available.
Can anybody please help me get up and running.
    Thanks,
    David

If I download this, what will my serial number be? The guy who sold it to me just said I had to run the Activation.exe program off the DVD once installation was complete. Is it the 28 number sequence on the back of the DVD box?

  • How to install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher edition on a MacBook with no CD drive

I just recently purchased a MacBook, making the switch from PC to Mac, and I notice that my copy of PsCS5 Extended Educational edition, which is a CD, won't work on my MacBook because there is no CD drive. I even tried using my product key on a downloadable version of the same software but the best I could find is a non-educational version of the software and my product key won't work on it. How would I go about installing this on my MacBook without purchasing the $200 software again? Thanks in advance!

There isn't much good news to offer.  The first mention below is probably your only shot without purchase, unless you could find someone to transfer licenses with.
You won't be able to install a Windows version on the Mac unless you install some Windows emulation software on the Mac.
You won't be able to activate a Mac version of the software on the machine because your license/serial number is only valid for Windows.
CS5 is too old to qualify for a platform swap and Adobe no longer sells CS5 so you would have to take your chances with a third party vendor if you decided to purchase a Mac version.
Just to clarify, there is no such thing as a student version of the software... the license dictates the status of the software.  So you won't be able to find a student version either

  • Can't instal photoshop CS5 extended because of "subscription error"?

    Hi everyone!
I recently downloaded Photoshop CS5.1 on adobe.com and everything went well. I entered my serial number but at the end of the installation it says:
"We are unable to start your subscription for Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Extended Subscription Edition". It forces me to close the window and I just can't instal the program.
Has anyone got an idea what this is and means? And how can I fix this so I can finally use photoshop???
    Thanks!

  • Error installing Photoshop CS5  Extended on Win 8.1

Here is the error message:  "WARNING: DW036: Payload cannot be installed due to dependent operation failure"
HELP!   Brand new HP machine, 64 bit, 8 gb ram, i5

    As I have successfully installed Photoshop 6.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS6, and CC on Windows 8.1, I can say "it's doable".
I normally disable UAC entirely on my Windows systems, so that may make a difference, but assuming you don't want to do that, do you find any better results if you run the Photoshop installer "As Administrator"?

  • Having trouble installing PS CS5 Extended in Windows 8.1

    Greetings:
I installed this product previously on another computer that ran Windows 7.  I had issues at the time and was able to resolve them, one of which was a bad serial number.  I just purchased a laptop with Windows 8.1 and am unable to install this product.  Here is what I did:
    - Disabled Virus program and shut down all other programs
    - Started the installation from a CD
    - Went through the normal process, serial number, log in info, etc.
    - I selected only the CS5 64 bit version and the region (US),
    - After about 20 seconds, a pop up appeared and it asked me to install the installation disc.  I did so and was not able to move the installation process forward.
    Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Gary

    Hello Mylenium:
I did as you suggested and it worked much better.  Very smooth process.
    Thank you for your suggestion.
I do have another problem, this time with the serial number and I think I
may have to call Adobe on this one.
I purchased this license from someone on eBay.  He assured me the license
number was good.  The CD came in a case with the original serial number
printed on the cover.  When I installed CS5 on my other computer, I was
having similar troubles and spoke to one of the support people.  He gave me
another license number that worked.  I have since uninstalled CS5 and did
not deactivate the license.  Perhaps that is the problem.
    Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you again for your help.

  • Camera Raw 6.4.1 won't install in CS5 Extended

The Adobe Application Manager downloads and starts to install the update, then pauses with the message "Please close the following application to continue: Adobe Bridge CS5 (Bridge.exe)" even after a reboot with no Adobe software (apparently) running. - Windows 7 Home Premium

You probably have "Auto launch Bridge at login" turn on.
You should find Bridge icon on your taskbar tray. Right click on the Br icon, uncheck "auto start Bridge" then exit Bridge from there.

  • Unable to install CS5 Extended

I had a new hard drive installed. I am trying to install the CS5 Extended version. I have two serial numbers one for the original purchase of CS4 Extended version which I later upgraded to CS5 Extended. In the past during the installs I had to enter both the serial numbers but not this time around and i think that is causing the issue.
The install goes through but I cant see the CR2 RAW files because it requires update. When I run update from Adobe Bridge --> Help --> Update , the download goes through but then it fails while installing. Can someone please help. Thanks

  • HELP! Photoshop CS5 Extended 64bit on Win7 64

First, I posted a problem here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/767488?tstart=0
...DO NOT close out the thread before I have a chance to respond and to see if you fix works.......... DUH.
I updated and I still have the same problem.
    I even unstalled and reinstalled CS5 65bit
What is occuring is installed Photoship CS5 Extended 64 Bit.
I am running on Win 7 64 bit (more system info is below).
    I installed CS5
I clicked on the CS5 to start the program
    The program loads.
I attempt to load an image (jpeg in this case..actually tried a few) and the program attempts to load the image.
Immediately I get a pop up screen that says, "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."  This comes up with a button to close the program. (the image does come under this screen).
I press the "close program" button then CS5 closes. End of story..

If you're still using the same version of nVidia drivers that you saw crash before, you're asking for trouble.
Photoshop uses OpenGL features.  Graphics card makers have had a tough time making OpenGL work properly.  To be fair, it's a complex system, and Photoshop uses it differently than any other software.
If Photoshop sees failures of the OpenGL functions, it may disable its own "Use OpenGL Drawing" setting.  That's a good thing, because often it can restore functionality (without OpenGL acceleration) until you can fix the root problem (e.g. with a driver update).
Since Photoshop released, new driver versions have been released that solve a lot of the crash problems.
You may have reconfigured something that worked around the crash you reported before, but you should still download and install the latest driver release, in which nVidia may well have solved the problem at its root.
