Installing quicktime pro...how?

I just bought quicktime pro.  The instructions say to open the quicktime preference dialogue box in System Preferences to enter the registration key. While I have a fully functioning regular quicktime on my computer, I have no quicktime icon anywhere in my System Preferences.  How do I enter my registration key for QT Pro when there is no QT in my System Preferences?

I hope you can find a resolution here ...
Please note: Some earlier versions of Mac OS X may have an Edit Registration or Registration button in the Plug-ins tab of the QuickTime System Preference pane. Click this button and a dialog will appear where you can enter your registration information.

  • Need to find out how to install QuickTime Pro on a new device using current license.

I broke the screen on my previous laptop/tablet and had to replace it. I had paid for QuickTime Pro and have an active license. I need to find out how to install QuickTime Pro on a new device using current license. My old device has been destroyed.

Download and install the free QuickTime Player 7 from Apple and enter your registration info to unlock the Pro features.

  • Installing QuickTime Pro V 7.6.4 in new PC / harddrive...

    Hello,
I have a new PC (with Windows 7), am installing all of the software I still want to use that I had on my older PC, and I need to get my QuickTime Pro I upgraded to working. I have version QuickTime 7.6.4, which I paid for in 2008.
QUESTION: What steps do I need to take in order to download install QuickTime Pro V. 7.6.4?
I looked at their website and I found 7.6.4, but it was for "Tiger" and "Leopard" and I am not really sure how to proceed. I have a registration code, but I need to know what "exactly" to download so I can put the code in and upgrade to the Pro version I purchased.
Thank you in advance. I tried for about thirty minutes to find this information on Apple's page, but I failed.
    Ron Hatchell

    Thank you.
I downloaded the new version, but cannot locate where I can put in my code from V 7.6.4. When I select "Buy QuickTime Pro" from the Help menu, it takes me to a page where I have to buy it, and nowhere is there a place to put my registration code in.
Not sure what to do now.

I've tried to download and install Quicktime Pro 7, but when I do I get a message saying there is already a version of Quicktime on my system and to do a Software Upgrade- that doesn't get me Quicktime Pro.
I don't have the install discs, so how do I get Quicktime Pro installed on my machine?

Thanks to Niel and the download at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923. I now have Quicktime Pro on my Macbook.
But what happened to the flv export option?

  • How do you install QuickTime Pro 7 on Snowleopard 10.6.8 when QTX is on it?

First off im fairly new to OSX, but when it tells you that you can't install because of a newer version on the machine but won't tell you how to fix it, is an issue. Any suggestions?

Just a footnote to Niel's reply:
Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link  even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)

  • Cannot install Quicktime Pro on Vista-64 bit machine

Quicktime 7 appears to be properly installed, plays video etc but there is no QT icon in the Control Panel, as required to open QT Pro in a Windows system. I have deleted and reinstalled QT 7, followed (twice) the detailed instructions in "General Installation Troubleshooting", but still no icon. Apple will not refund the price of a downloaded purchase. Any clues to how to make it work?

Quicktime may not come in 64-bit version the way that iTunes is, but that doesn't mean it isn't supported on Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

  • Quicktime pro how to use

How do I access or use quicktime pro.
I've purchased and registered the software, but nothing indicates that it is installed and ready to go.
    Thanks

I do so, and when I click the button which says (Buy QuickTime Pro...) on the bottom right of the box it pops open this website:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/extending/.  The PRO features are still locked on my computer.
Press the "Tab" key to enter information—not the "Return" key. See Additional Information section on this web page.

  • Installing Quicktime Pro on New Computer

I purchased Quicktime Pro through the online Apple store several months ago. I recently bought a new computer (Windows 8 PC) and downloaded Quicktime, but now only have the basic, free version.  How do I get my Pro version installed on this computer?

Log in at the Apple Store using the ID used in the purchase and then into your account page to view order history up to the last 18 months.

  • After purchasing Quicktime Pro, how do you start the program?

I recently purchased Quicktime Pro and received the order acknowledgement along with the license key.  I added this as instructed, clicked "apply" and nothing changed.  I cannot find QP anywhere.  I only see the Quicktime Player that I already have.  Is there another program or file that I need to download?

I tried the links and see nothing that I haven't already read.  Everything assumes that after the product license is installed, you then have PRO.  Perhaps I should be looking for another (or new) desktop icon, in addition to Player?!?
The only other thing I have found is this tidbit...
After Installation, click on Start > Control Panel and search for QuickTime.
Open the QuickTime Control Panel and enter your QuickTime Pro registration information there.

  • Re-install QuickTime Pro

I just had to reinstall my OS and as a result I lost my QuickTime Pro, which I bought two months ago. I can retrieve my product code, but I have no idea how to reinstall Pro. I reinstalled the free QuickTime, but there is no option to upgrade other than re-purchasing. Can anything help me out? Thanks.

  • Instructions for installing quicktime pro:

I have Quicktime 7, and I purchased QT Pro, but the instructions for installing QT Pro aren't working on my PC. The instructions say to go to Settings in my Startup menu, but there is no Settings in my Startup menu. From there it says to find the Control Panel, then go to the Quicktime Control Panel. I do have Control Panel in the Startup menu, but it doesn't take me to Quicktime. If I open Quicktime, there's no Control Panel in there either. I'm totally at a loss! Anyone know what to do?
