  • Having trouble installing Radeon 7500 into K7T266 Pro

I am having all sorts of problems switching from my nVidia TNT 2 (MaxiGamer Cougar) video card to my new Radeon 7500.  I am running an AMD Athlon 1400 with 512 MB DDR RAM.
    I have the K7T266 Pro (MS-6380) chipset.
Can anyone think of what I am missing here.  I think I have all the updates AGP drivers I need but I am not sure.  I get lock ups prior to windows starting everytime. Even in safe mode.
    Grrrr.

I ended having to format my c drive.  Windows began doing some really funny things and then never started again with old or new video cards.  I have re-installed windows but now sometimes my monitor stays blank when I start the computer.  It is supposed to wake itself up but when it does, it has no picture.  To solve this I shut down and flick the switch on the back and discharge everything.  It then works again for another few times.  Do you think this may be a problem with my power supply?  I have an Enermax 350W.  I bought it when I built the computer and figured it would have plenty of juice.
    Thanks for you help

I returned my Nvidia GeForce4 Ti4600 PNY Verto back to PNY last year, after I had it for a few months, and it kept crashing at AGP 4x. They sent me a new one, I tried it at 4x, with the latest Nvidia Detonator drivers, I have tried it under fresh installs of Windows 2000 SP3, and WindowsXP, both crashing when the card is set to 4x. I believe there is major bugs in this board and it does not truly support AGP 4x. I am goin to try and RMA my board back to MSI, demanding a board that can support my card, or a suitable replacement that will support my current CPU and memory. This is the first MB I ever bought from MSI, and depending on how they resolve this situation, it will probably be the last. This is the 10th machine I have built on my own, I have just not had to time to deal with this issue, and have dealt with it at AGP 2x, but it is slow as hell, especially with games like Battlefield 1942.

  • K7T266 Pro2 and ATI Radeon 7500?

Ok, first off, I have been in the technical field for about 12 years, so there is no need to "dumb down" your responses...
All right. I've got the above board, and it has been working fine up until I bought a new ATI Radeon 7500 vid card. I shut down the computer, disconnected the power supply, and removed my old vid card (which, btw, was working fine, but it was an 8MB old card). Then I installed the new vid card and restarted the computer. At this point, it promptly refused to even post. The monitor light flashed as if it were in standby, and there were no sounds from the board. Everything is still recieving power, so that's not the problem. The "D-bracket" showed 1-Red, 2-Green, 3 and 4-Red. Now this says that there is something wrong with the memory (?). Switched RAM chips, then the d-bracket shows all red = CPU problems? So, I shut it down and waited for a bit. Restarted it again, and the same lighting on the d-bracket, with 1,3,4-Red, and 2-Green. Now the motherboard repeatedly emits 3 fast beeps, then a pause, then 3 fast beeps, etc.. So, I put in the old video card, and the same thing occurred, in a RANDOM order. So, keeping in mind that NOTHING other than the vid card was removed OR touched before the problem occurred. RANDOM errors are NOT the way to run technical items. RANDOM problems are meant for EXPERIMENTAL items...
I would really hate to have to send in my motherboard to MSI to get it fixed (on warranty), because my business RELIES on my ability to access my computer, and 3 months computer-less is unacceptable. If there is not some LOGICAL thing that may be wrong, I will have to simply go out and buy another new motherboard. Unfortunate as it is, I am afraid that it will NOT be an MSI, because all I have ever had is problems with this board, and the lack of technical support is a real problem.
Any ideas will be tried, and I will post results as soon as I see the suggestion. Thanks.

well if you can and I know I would take the ATI card back and get a refund and by a nvidia I got a $250 ATI AIW setting on my file cabnet as a paper wait
one other thing you could try if you have one a old PCI video card remove the ATi card put a PCi video card in and try to boot useing it if that works go into bios setup and under advanced chipset settings make sure all the agp settings are set to auto I know I had this problem before I had the AGP driver setting set manule to a setting that would not work with my video card and clearing cmos would not reset this setting to auto.
I had to use a old pci card to boot so I could reset this to auto.

  • Radeon 7500 Normal AGP card Without ADC (Used before on Windows Vista PC)

    Dear ...
i read in some articals on internet that you can use this kind of Cards "Radeon 7500 Normal AGP card Without ADC (Used before on Windows Vista PC)" with Mac G4 Quicksliver 733Mhz ... just u have to install it and leave Machine on for sometimes till dedicated it is thatture ?

A Radeon 7500 (as well as any other AGP graphics card) that was removed from a PC must have its EEPROM chip re-programmed to function in an Apple computer. This is usually done while the card is installed in a PC, using a compatible flash utility program and the correct ROM code taken from the Mac version of the same card.

  • Radeon 7500 vs onboard Geforce2MX

I'm considering getting a ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 for my nForce1. Does anyone know whether this card is faster or slower than the onboard Geforce2MX? I really hate to take a hit in performance playing Counter Strike or Medal of Honor.
I found some performance scores on extremetech.com and tomshardware.com, but they were comparing to the AIW Radeon 8500 and the Geforce Personal Cinema which had a worse score than the AIW7500. AIW8500 is a bit pricey for my budget and the $400 AIW9700Pro is way out of my league.
BTW, would BIOS auto disable onboard Geforce2MX and free up 32Meg RAM when AGP board is installed?

    Hello!
I had a radeon 7500 64mb ddr in my nforce.
Counter strike runs a bit better using the onboard gfx gf2.
With the radeon 7500 player and gun model details is a bit blurred, this is due to cs not the card. And fps drops slightly more buts it isnt that bad. CS has always been  with ATi.
For games like sof2 the, using high detail 1024x768 in 32bit colour the radeon 7500 really is quite good, a million times better than the onbaord.
Its far better than the onboard video. I would use it.
But i sold it to my bro for £15 eheh!
Yes the onboard gfx will automatically disable its self and free the 32 mb its uses.
Also set you agp aperature size to 64MB, anything lower on the radeon 7500 and it will run slow.
I benchmarked my 7500 on default settings on the nforce around about 5200.

  • 845e max and radeon 7500

ok my problem is that i just bought this video card(ati radeon 7500) and on my mobo it says only use agp 4x 1.5v only but this card is a 4x/2x. it also says in my mobo manuel to use a 2x/4x card switch to 4x in the jumpers. my problem is that there is no jumpers on the card so what do i do. i dont want to distroy my mobo so what do i do.

I am pretty sure that ATI Radeon 7500 is a 1.5V 4X-compliant card. Just put it in and try it out. The motherboard has this routing thing that won't boot the computer if you have a 3.3V AGP card installed anyway, so you are safe. 8)

  • Radeon 7500 Mac Edition Quicksilver 2001

I have installed a Radeon 7500 Mac Edition video card in my 2001 Quicksilver. This card was an option in the 2002 Quicksilver. I am having problems installing OSX software and notice that Mac warns that it may be necessary to install the original graphics card for installation. I no longer have my original card.
Is the 7500 compatible with my machine? In general the card works fine with my dual moniotrs but I do have problems running iChat with frequent freezes and dropped service.
If the 7500 is not a good choice for my machine what should I buy for dual monitor support and Mac compatibility?

    Hi,
    The 7500 Mac Edition is kind of an oddball. Good card, but ATI doesn't support it with Mac Drivers. You can download the latest Radeon Universal Driver ROM's from here;
    https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folder ID=27
Run the program and see if it helps.
If not, depending on budget, I'd get an ATI 9800 Pro Mac Edition, either the 128MB or 256MB. You will then have the best video card available for a G4, the QS will handle it just fine. I just noticed that Newegg.com has the 256MB available for $199 after rebate, a deal -for the best.
    Regards,
    Dave

How to get the Windows Vista Driver for ATI Radeon 7500 card?
I am using a IBM Thinkpad T42 with a 32Mb ATI Radeon 7500 graphic card AGP.
Is there any Vista 32-bit driver to update my card so that this system support Aero effect?
    Thank you.

The Radeon 9000 driver works for the Radeon 7500 card.  I have successfully used it on a T43 with Vista Ultimate x86

Unfortunately no.  The Radeon 9000 driver should bring your graphics score up to close to 2, but it will not get it high enough to enable Aero support.

  • 15" Studio Flat ADC Display PowerMac G4 400 MHz Radeon 7500 no video

    !!!!!!!!! WHATS WRONG?
    PowerMac G4 400 MHz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Gary,
The G4 AGP graphics model is pre-ADC and its motherboard will not support a video card with a native ADC port. The ADC ports on such cards draw their power and USB feed via an extra leg on the card that fits into an extra slot at one end of the AGP slot on the computer motherboard. Your computer does not have this extra slot.
To run an ADC display off your computer, you can run a video card with a DVI output, then use a DVI to ADC adaptor such as this one:
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0111-DVAD
You can use VGA to ADC adaptors, but they are much more expensive (than a DVI to ADC adaptor plus another video card), and don't give as good a result.
    Cheers!
    Karl

  • Radeon 7500 AGP identification problem

I think I may have asked before, but I don't remember.  My system specs are listed below.  My problem is that my Radeon 7500 AGP card shows up as PCI under properties in the hardware listing.  Why is this?  Is it a problem?
    Thanks

You might have to enable APIC to get more irqs for your devices. But could cause trouble.
Also here is the newest Catylist drivers from Ati
They are newer than on the Power color site.
    http://mirror.ati.com/support/drivers/powered.html
I momentarily lost track of this thread. :D
Yes, more than 16.  I'm pretty sure there are 22.  I don't have any sharing now except for the USB, they all share the same IRQ.  I don't have any device conflicts, so that's good.
    Thanks for the link.

Has this always been the case for you or did you update recently and it started happening?  There appears to be some sort of conflict with some machines and new changes to the kernel to allow quicker mode setting.  See http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 47#p659347.  I had to add !radeon to my MODULES list in /etc/rc.conf to get X to even work at all.  I don't run anything that uses OpenGL so I don't know if it'll address your issue.
You may also want to take a look at http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 20#p662920 and add intel_agp radeon (that's two modules, in that order) to your MODULES list.
Well, I was having the graphical corruption issue in that first thread until I added the nomodeset boot flag. As for the modesetting, I think it directly conflicts with my boot flag, and without it, I get corruption. =/

  • After installing Radeon Graphics drivers on Windows 8 Flash player and Adobe Flash Pro didn't re-ins

    Hi,
On a Windows 8 Pro desktop I recently installed Flash Pro and it seemed to work great.   Also Flash Player was working great as well.  But I noticed on Adobe  Photoshop CS6 that the 3d controls were not working.  So I installed the the Radeon Graphics AMD Catylyst Control series for an onder 4800 series graphics card.   Has anyone else had problems with 4800 series AMD ATI video cards?  Any suggestions after reviewing the tables below?
I then noticed that the 3d controls in Adobe Photoshop worked great. But...
Later, however, I noticed that Flash Play would green screen on some videos in IE10.  So I tried to follow the Flash Player repair procedure such as remove checkbox on Active X Filter,  Adding Compatibility mode without success in IE so I installed Mozilla Fire Fox and re-installed flash player etc... which worke don Mozilla but not IE10.  So I'm thinking this new software from AMD caused several problems to occur and not sure how to fix them. I still want 3d controls on my video card and now I'm thinking about starting a fresh install before installing Adobe software with a new NVidia card or a trusted AMD ATI card because this legacy 4800 doesn't seem to be cutting.
Here is my system settings and after this table are the errors I got upon reinstalling Flash pro.    Note: These were not critical errors so I was still able to run Flash Pro.  I was never able to run Flash Player on IE10 after upgrading my video card software (Catalyst Control Center).   However Flash Player does seem to work great on Mozilla Firefox after re-installing Adobe Flash.   When I try to install Flash Player in IE10 I get a title screen of "Update Flash" with no content whatsover.

  • Help! Blue Screen hangs on G5 after installing Radeon 9600 pro...

    Hi
I am having major problems with my G5, after working out that my old graphics card was knackered i bought a new ati radeon 9600 pro.
Every time i start up i get the apple logo then it hangs on a blue screen. I can get it to boot in safe mode and i've tried uninstalling the ati software and i've even re-installed OS X and wiped the disk to no avail.
I've also downloaded latest card drivers and looked for help on ati website but no real help there.
    I would appreciate any help.thanks

I just installed an ATI X800 XT and it does exactly the same thing. Even on a new system build. Ironically enough I just took out a Radeon 9600XT that worked fine. Have you found a solution yet? I think I'm going to try and reset my pram. I'll let you know what I find out.

  • Installed Radeon 6870 - bad video performance in VLC

I've added a Radeon GPU to my i3-530 which used to handle video. I installed the opensource drivers and I get occasional lags, choppy parts during video playback using VLC. I tried adding the following to my radeon conf as per wiki but that caused tearing:
    Section "Device"
            Identifier "Radeon"
            Driver "radeon"
        Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
    EndSection
I assume KMS is enabled, since that's the default. I don't know how to check though. What could be going wrong?
    Thanks

I tried. The way I understand he's simply telling me to install the packages he has listed, correct? I did that via AUR and yaourt. As I said, I could install most of them but not mesa-full. I'm trying again now so I can post the error I get....
Didn't do anything different than the last two times and this time mesa-full installed successfully. Some packages still don't want to cooperate but I'll reboot and see where I stand.
Problem persists. I get an error installing lib32-libdrm-git:
    error: target not found: gcc-multilib
and I think that x86_64 doesn't apply to me on my intel CPU so now I've installed everything and the videos still have their stutter moments. Makes me want to cry. I should be studying for exams but this is such a nice excuse not to...
