Installing Reader & Flash

I've spent the past couple weeks trying to install Adobe CS3--running the Adobe cleaner, ccleaner, uninstalling ALL my Adobe software, deleting my Adobe directories from my program files folder, changing virus & firewall settings and nothing seems to work.  I gave up (again) a couple hours ago.
But now I need to re-install Adobe Reader & Flash but they won't install.  They download fine but when I go to run them, nothing happens.
What did I screw up and how do I repair?

I was looking for a standalone/offline installer for Adobe Reader 10 but the link you provided, though labeled Adobe Reader, is actually for Flash.
I have since discovered another thread ( http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969838 ) with links to the Reader 10.1.0 installer at: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1010 _en_US.exe
or 10.1.2 at: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.2/en_US/AdbeRdr1012_en_US.exe
The second link was found from the dowload page located at:
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
I hope this helps

  • Reader & Flash Player won't finish downloading

I am trying to install Reader & Flash Player on my Windows 7 computer but once the program goes to the installer screen it just freezes. The computer has been sitting for an hour and nothing happens. I have tried starting the install from a saved location but it makes no difference.

    Use the offline installers.

  • I installed Adobe Flash Player 11.7.700.169 onto my Macbook Air (OS 10.7.5) and when I went onto website it still read that I need update. I've tried 3x and still same message.

I successfully installed Adobe Flash Player 11.7.700.169 onto my Macbook Air 2012 (OS 10.7.5) and when I went onto website (Morrision Planetarium-California Academy of Science) it still read that I need update. I've tried 3x and still same message.  Is there something I am doing wrong?  Quite frustrating!

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 4.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    2. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    3. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    4. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    5. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    6. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Problem with finishing install of Flash Player on a Mac. When finishing by entering the requested password, the dialog box jiggles as if the p/w is invalid. But it works in the Adobe site.

I am trying to install Flash player on my Mac. All the steps are working as they should, until the point where I am asked to enter my password. I do this, and the dialog box jiggles as through  the p/w were invalid. However, it works to sign in to the Adobe site. I just changed it to be sure and checked again.

There is no password required to download or install the Flash Player.  Chances are your Mac is requiring you to enter its password to allow the installation to occur.
