Installing SAP Best Practices for HCM v2.60

Hi Gurus,
Has anyone installed SAP Best practices for HCM. I have to install the building blocks in the system. Can anyone guide me How to approach it? I have downloaded SAP BP v2.60 for HCM. How will I start transfering it to the client's SAP ECC 6.0 system. My Client needs Best Practices for HCM in their system.
Any kind of help is deeply appreciated. Please help.
Regards,
Sanchit

Hi Shaukat!
Please take a look at http://help.sap.com -> SAP Best Practices -> Cross-Industry Packages.
You can also try and take a look at http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Download -> Installations & Upgrades -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP Best Practices
Caution! You only can use the BP if this is suitable to your ERP version! Check if your HCM BP is for ERP2004. If so it will not work on an ERP2005 System.
I hope this helps!

  • SAP Best Practices for Payroll

    Hi Gurus,
We have a SAP ECC6.0 version installed at our client side. My Client is developing a software for SAP Payroll. They want to run Payroll in their SAP system to figure out few things. SAP has recommended to install SAP Best Practices for HCM to get some test data. My questions to you all are:-
    1) SAP best Practices do provide preconfigured settings and some amount of Test Data. How will I install SAP Best Practices for HCM at my client System. Please do tell me in detail because I dont have any knowledge how to proceed as I a SAP HCM functional consultant. We dont have any basis consultant in our team.
    2) How long it can take to install SAP Best Practices for HCM and the complete proceedure to do it?
    3) Is it true that the test data provided by SAP BP and the pre configured base settings will be sufficient to run Payroll. Mind it,my client does not want to run payroll as per their needs, they just want to see how it is run in SAP with the SAP test data.
I would really appreciate if you guyz can provide me any knowledge related to this matter.
    Thanks a ton

  • SAP Best Practice for Water Utilities v 1.600

    Hi All,
I want to install SAP Best Practice for Water Utilities v 1.600. I have downloaded the package (now  available only Mat.No. 50079055 "Docu: SAP BP Water Utilities-V1.600")  from Marketplace, but there is NO transport file included on it. It only contains documentation.  Should I use the transport file from Best Practice for Utilities v 1.500?
    Thank you,
    Vladimir

    Hello!
The file should contain eCATTs with data according to best practice preconfigured scenarios and transactions to install them.
Some information about preconfigured scenario you could find here:
    http://help.sap.com/bp_waterutilv1600/index.htm -> Business Information -> Preconfigured Scenarios
Under the "Installation" path you could find "Scenario Installation Guide" for Water Utilities.
I hope it would be helpful.

We are installing SAP BP for Discrete Manufacturing based on ECC 6.00. We have already installed the Baseline Layer 0. The problem we face now is that some of the building blocks required for Layer1 activation are not present amongst the ones already installed.
How does one get these missing building blocks?
    Thank you.

For detail information please refer the OSS notes,

  • SAP Best Practices for Data Migration :repositories only on MS SQL Server ?

    Hi,
I'm implementing the "SAP Best Practices for Data Migration" (see https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/bp-datamigration).
As part of the installation you have to install MS SQL Server Express Edition. The installation guide contains detailed steps to do this. All repositories for Data Services should be running on SQL Server, according to the installation guide.
The customer I'm working for now does not want to use SQL Server, but DB2, as company standard.
So I use DB2 for the local and profiler repositories.
I notice however that the web application http://localhost:8080/MigrationServices does not support DB2.The only database type you can select in the configuration area is MS SQL Server.
Is this a limitation, a by design ?

    Hans,
The current release of SAP Best Practices for Data Migration, v1.32, supports only MS SQL Server.  The intent when developing the DM content was to quickly set up a temporary, standardized data migration environment, using tools that are available to everyone.  SQL Server Express was chosen to host the repositories, because it is easy to set up and can be downloaded for free.  Sone users have successfully deployed the content on Oracle XE, but as you have found, the MigrationServices web application works only with SQL Server.
The next release, including the web app, will support SQL Server and Oracle, but not DB2.

    Hello Ramesh,
you should have a look at the SAP Instguide, and if it tells you to do as your colleagues say, open a ticket to SAP and ask, whether doing it the otherw ay could have spoiled your system. Anything but an official "yes, it's ok" won't help you.
For the other guys: have a loook at http://service.sap.com/instguides, there you can find all the guides you need.

  • SAP Best Practice for Chemicals in an oil refinery

Does anyone have experience in implementing the SAP Best Practice for Chemicals in an oil refinery that will also use IS-OIL?
What would be the pros and cons?
What is the implementation price of considering a best practice solution for a large complex organization?
    Oded Dagan
    Oil Refineries LTD.

    Hi Oded,
I don't know about any Best Practice Chemicals implementation in an refinery so far.
But you can use Best Practice Chemicals with SAP IS-Oil for the non IS-Oil functionality as well.
Best Practice Chemicals gives you benefits within standard business processes, but for the
IS-Oil business processes you have to consider the traditon implementation methods.
Best Practice Chemicals gives you a broad business process set, usually used in Chemical
corporation. If you can cover 50% of your needed business processes out of Best Practice Chemicals you save approx 50% implementation time. It is not only implemenentation you save a lot in documentation and training material as well. Most of our Best Practice Chemicals implemenations used
60-80% out of Best Practice Chemicals. At a large corporation the percentage of standard ERP processes is normally smaller, because of other additional needed SAP solutions e.g. APO, SRM, CRM etc.
