Installing second 8800GT Card (How to)

Computer - 2 X 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Current Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT
I purchased a second 8800GT card to install on my mac pro so I can have a 3 monitor and soon to be 4 monitor setup. My question is, are there any additional steps to take when installing this card or is it simply plug and play?
When installing this card, does it matter what slot it goes in (2,3, or 4)?
Once the card is installed is there any configuration that needs to be done on the mac?
My first attempt at installing a second video card was installing a Radeon 2400XT next to my 8800GT and had no luck. I was not getting video from the card at all, was only getting video from the 8800.

NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT cards should be used only in slots 1 and 2. Slots 3 and 4 don't provide as much power.

Is it possible to share my cable broadband service ( PS3 etc ) through my PPC G4, maybe by installing a second ethernet pci card and sharing the internal ethernet, or is there any other possibilities. no airport, but do have a D-link bluetooth dongle...

As other posters have pointed out, you don't need a second ethernet card to share out your connection - if you have an existing router (with a number of ethernet connections), you can connect your game consoles to that, and your ISP will be none the wiser. Your ISP will still give you one IP address; your router does the translation into multiple private IP addresses (eg 10.0.1.1, 10.0.1.2, etc)
Another option is to buy an inexpensive network switch, put that between the router and the Mac, connect the other devices to the switch, and turn on sharing from ethernet to ethernet. But you really don't need to with a router on the network.
If you share out your Mac's internet connection, the devices behind the connection will get IP addresses in the range 192.168.2.x (the Mac will effectively be their router/DHCP server at 192.168.2.1).

K9N2 Diamond no video after installing second video card

Hey everyone , I hate to sound desperate but I Need Help fast Please!! I have a lot of work to do on this system tomorrow , I really do not want to use this old PC I am on now.
First off let me say that I have had this board for about a month (maybe longer) and besides a slight power down issue it has been Rock solid and runs everything.
but my problem started tonight when I went to install a second video card that I bought , I had a 9600GT as a second card but it never made it into this build because my kids needed a video card for their PC so pay no attention to the 9600GT in my system config list. Again I have only ever had a single GTX260 installed in this system.
but I finally got an 8600GT (for PhysX only) and installed it tonight after downloading a driver form Nvidia , system was working fine , but after installing my 8600GT in the second PCI-e slot I powered up to NO VIDEO , so I figured I would have to reset CMOS to set the video cards or something so I powered down tried resetting that and restarted , still NO video.
So I removed the 8600GT PhysX card and restarted again and still NO video , so I tried the onboard VGA plug and still NO video.
I then tried to remove the battery , reset the CMOS (no power to the computer at all) and put everything back and still NO video!!
I must say I am at a loss here , shouldn't the "Clear CMOS" button actually clear the CMOS and boot the PC to default settings?? I simply do not understand this problem. what can I be doing wrong?
Things I have Tried:
all video ports Including onboard
Clearing the CMOS by holding down the button for 30 seconds several times
Removed the battery and pressed the Clear CMOS
Removed 1 stick of RAM
Video card in different slots
Powering on and off several times
PS: My 4 green lights are now from the top when they were al green before:

Thanks for the reply Henry , I can try that as my motherboard tray comes out easily but I have a question , what is this supposed to accomplish? if this motherboard won't run in my case its useless to me. I think what I am going to try first though is a 9850 BE CPU to eliminate a bad CPU , and I must get the info off my HDD as it did not complete a backup last night due to this video thing , that is my main concern right now. I have had this case for 2.5 years and hav had 2 ASUS motherboards in it , it is very well grounded/proven. But I will try anything.

Thanks for the reply Bas , I already tried that last night and it did not work , I also tried 2 different video cards in ALL PCI-e slots and a single RAM chip in slot #2.
NOTE to BAS , your suggestion to turn off the WOL setting on my 2 nic cards in another thread worked all day for me yesterday , thank you for that suggestion.
Is there ANY other way to clear the CMOS other than with the push button and the battery out?
thanks guys , I'll try another CPU tonight and see if that works , if not I will try to RMA or just junk the board as if I cannot get it to post its useless.

Installing a second Network Card

Having just installed Solaris 8 on an Intel based machine, the system is identifying two installed network cards.
Can anyone tell me how to configure the second Network Card - IP address etc as the Web Start package will only allow configuration of the first network card

You just need to create a new text file /etc/hostname.{nic-interface-name}
Lets assume the system has two intel etherexpress pro NICs installed. The intel NIC's driver
name / interface name is "iprb". So the two NICs are named "iprb0" and "iprb1".
The file /etc/hostname.iprb0 should already exist (created by the inital installation).
Just create /etc/hostname.iprb1 and put into this file the ip-address of the iprb1 interface.
You can also use a hostname in that file and add a hostname -> ip address mapping
into the /etc/hosts file.
During the next reboot the system will automatically bring up both the iprb0 and iprb1
interface.

How do you hook up a TV monitor to a second GFX card?

hi - after i learned that the Nv7800GT GFX card I ordered with my G5 dual core doesn't output to S-Video, i ordered and installed a 6600 card (which allegedly does). However now that it is installed, i can't seem to get it to recognize the TV monitor i've hooked up using the apple DVI to S-Video adapter. the system profiler just tells me "no display connected" on both of its ports.
Can someone please help me to set this up correctly? I want to use the 6600 to drive an external monitor or beamer.

yes. i notice that in the sys prefs only my cinema display (the one connected to the 7800GT) is shown. in my experience of using "extended desktop" mode, i would see a second display listed, along with several resolution options.
but in this case, i am not using a single gfx card with a second monitor hooked up. so why do i not "see" the second card in the control panel? (it shows up in the system profiler)

That model MBP gives you a choice of cards to use – one at a time. it is not designed for them to run in tandem - splitting up the workload.

You can use the PCI-E mini-slot for a wireless LAN card. Contct HP Support or Sales and get a recommendation. You will still need to configure an antenna.

I installed a new T1(DSU/CSU) card in SLOT 1 but it isn't being recognized. The T1 in SLOT 0 comes up, is configured, and working just fine. I can't figure out why the second T1 card isn't being recognized and doesn't come up in the list of interfaces.
