Installing/Setup of SOA

Hi Friends,
I would like setup "*SOA*" on my personal laptop(64-Bit Linux machine).
Can someone please help me with this process where i need something like -
--> All prerequisites before i start
For now I've the following softwares :
1. Oracle DataBase 11g
2. JDeveloper
3. RCU-11.1.1.3.3
4. WebLogic Server 10.5
5. SOA-Generic-11.1.1.6.0
5. OSB-Generic-11.1.1.6.0
Please let me know what more , so I need to gather.
And let me know the order of installation.

Problem while installing Setup package

Hi all,
A week before i installed setup package on one device it worked perfectly fine.
Today i created new setup package with parameter sets( MI_CONFIG and included parameter MobileEngine.Sync.Gateway.Service=/sap/bc/MJC/mi_host
MI.Sync.ProtocolVersion=251500
And did not added these two lines in Mobileengine.config file.
My device is looping between two screen Ie Logon screen and change password screen. Whenever i enter the username and password it enters into Change password screen and then again to logon screen.
What can be the problem?

Hi Neha
This is because after after you have created a setup package, a configuration tells the user to change his password on this first login to the client. If you open the MobileEngine.config file you will find an entry called <i><b>MobileEngine.Security.PasswordChangeRequired</b></i> with a value true. Just set the value to false and restart MI. If the parameter is not present, add the same and restart. This should solve your problem and the change password page will never appear again.

SQL 2012 sp1 EE setup disappears when installing Setup Support files ( Error: sqm does not have active session)

WIndows : 2008 R2
SQL : 2012 sp1 EE
Setup disappears when installing setup support files On passiive node ( 2 node cluster), sql is runing on active node without any issue
Error : SQM does not active session ( In summary detail txt file)

Uanble to open the App server console after installing the Oracle soa suite

Hello,
after installing the oracle soa suite 10.3.1.0 we are unable to open the application server console. it gives "page not found" error.
We have installed on a Win2000 server instance.
We have selected all the default values while installing.

We had the same problem today:
1. From cmnd line, from your ...\opmn\bin directory run "opmnctl startall".
2. That will tell you where the log files are and what they're called. If the log file error was like mine, "Could not reserve enough space for your object heap.", then you need to try setting your maxpermsize=128 in oc4j_opmn.xml and opmn.xml
This resolved the issue for me, hope it helps.

How should I install/setup a single OS of windows 7 to run through bootcamp and parallels 7 on my new macbook pro?

I just bought a new macbook 8g ram and 750g harddrive and want to be able to run windows 7 through bootcamp and parallels. How do I setup that up and install a single version of windows (want to be able to utilize heavy programs - photoshop, 3D modeling CAD etc. - by installing them once and being able to use them through parallels 7 or bootcamp)? Please let me know of anything that may red flag by doing this and clear concise instructions of which to do first/ settings for bootcamp and parallels

BootCamp is directly booting your computer into Windows for full hardware access and performance, just like a PC. It's free from Apple.

Virtual machine software (paid) like Parallels and VMFusion both can take the Bootcamped Windows and make a copy for use in OS X in a window at the same time as using OS X, but less performance. It's usualyl easiler to use.
A free virtual machine option is VirtualBox, but it might not have all the bells and whistles of the payware options above, but works just fine.
We can't provide detailed installation instructions, it's too much, you will have to read Apple's instructions and the manual for your virtual machine software.

Same problem also occurred under SLES 10. Notice similar issue in some other threads.

If you downloaded Oracle SOA it may be corrupted.
Download it again.
Also disable all firewals and antispyware you have in your system and free the computer's memory of all unnecesary runing programs to make sure you have enough memory available for install.

Where is Oracle Lite DB installed? In Soa Suite inst. dir? Service needed?

As far as I know Soa Suite can use a separate "full" Oracle (Express) DB.
However user can omit this separate DB and use the built-in "Oracle lite" Database.
Is this Oracle lite DB installed in the installation directory of Soa Suite or somewhere else on the hard disc?
Does it need a Win service to run (similar to "full" Oracle DB) or does it run on-demand
in AppServer?

you can go from olite to full DB, but not the other way round. When you do this change you may lose state in your inflight messages.
to migrate from olite to Oracle DB do the following:
1.) Ensure that the new target database is running.
2.) Run IRCA script to create schemas for BPEL, ESB and OWSM in the new Database:
Eg: irca all "localhost 1521 v102" welcome -overwrite3.) Make a backup of the file:
${OC4J_HOME}\config\data-sources.xml4.) Change the following ESB and BPEL connection pools to point to new DB resource.
* BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL
* ESBAQJMSPool
* ESBPool
You can use either Enterprise Manager Console to perform this changes or edit the file: ${OC4J_HOME}\config\data-sources.xml
Below is a sample of configuration for BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL:

OSB Install question on SOA 11g

Hello Experts,
I have installed SOA 111g and below is the environment:
Web Logic -- 10.3.6
SOA -- 11.1.1.6.0
AIA -- 11.1.1.6.0
Created Doiamns, configuration completed and users are testing it..
Forgot to install OSB and Oracle recommends that we install OSB first, before SOA.
Question
Is that ok to install OSB in the same location of SOA, at this point??

It is just an recommendation or good approach to Install Osb first before we install Bpel.
But In case you have already installed SOA , you can go ahead and Install OSB . It should not matter to you.
Hoping that this is your local machine and I am pretty sure that It will work fine. Since my OSB is topped on SOA Suite.

CS4 Web Premium (Student Ed) Online Install - Setup.exe does nothing

I purchased and then downloaded CS4 Web Premium Student Edition. The first download was corrupted (due to an internet failure midway) so I erased and re-downloaded. The files extracted without issue under the new download. However, whenever I attempt to install by clicking Setup.exe, nothing happens. The cursor changes into the "hourglass" as if the system is processing something, then it changes back to the normal cursor -- and nothing happens. No processes are available in the Task Manager, either.
Following advice I've found scattered across forums all over the web, I have removed every Adobe software previously installed using Control Panel (Acrobat, Reader, PsE, PrE, & a trial Illustrator), disabled User Account Control, disabled antivirus/firewall software, ran Setup "as administator", tried Safe Mode, and restarted the computer several times. None of these methods produced any change in outcome whatsoever.
I am running HP Touchsmart tx2z, less than a month old and running like a charm, with the following specs:
Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit) *I download all available updates
AMD Turion(TM) X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-87 (2.4GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)
8GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
500GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
ATI Radeon(TM) HD 3200 Graphics with 64MB Display Cache Memory
Devoid of other advice, I will try reseting my system to factory defaults. However, I dread re-downloading the 4GB file (an 8 hour process), reconfiguring my system, backing all of my files up elsewhere, and reinstalling all other new software -- so any ideas are appreciated.

extra information,
when i run setup for premiere CS4 and open the setup in windows task the size is the same as the setup folder.
when i run setup for web premium CS4 and lopen the setup in windows task the size is 0,0 mb.
think this is the reason why the setup wont start.

Downloaded Discoverer4.1: can't install (setup.exe won't run)

Hi,
Just downloaded Discoverer 4.1 (admin4133f.zip) and unzip files in directory c:\temp (along with Oracle Forms and Report and Oracle 8i zip files) but whenever i run setup.exe nothing happens.
I've already got Oracle Personal Edition 8i and Developer 6i installed in my pc.

I've eccounted the similar installation problem - Oracle Discoverer installation at the OracleHome that already has Oracle Reports lead to setup.exe fail. This is noted since Discoverer 3.1.+ and Reports 3+
Try to install Discoverer into another OracleHome.
If installing in the same Home - Discoverer must be the first, Reports - the second...
(By the way - watch for the 9iAS EE installation - you'll see Discoverer goes first :) )

MS Project Install: 'Setup can not find PrjPror.WW\PrjPrrWW.cab"

Hi, I am trying to install MS project 2013 trial, but everytime I try to install it it gives this error:
'Setup can not find PrjPror.WW\PrjPrrWW.cab"
No idea how to deal with it, already tried the 64 bit version but that did not work.

Does the PrjPror.WW\PrjPrrWW.cab is really in the local path now?
If you are using installation source from DVD, please copy them to the local drive and then reinstall it.
Try to redownload the Microsoft Project 2013 Trial from the link

And then turn off all of security programs, reinstall it within local administrator account permission.

Setup disappears/fails when installing Setup Support files

I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 Express with advanced services but when i get to the support files installation, the window close and the next one does not appear.
Help me please.

Do I need IIS or Task Scheduler for a windows install of the SOA suite

I am currently trying to set a R&D SOA environment up on a windows box. By default these services are disabled when we usually set up our application servers within dev. So do I need IIS and task scheduler to be running on the windows environment when I install the SOA suite?
