Installing Shake 4.1 Blocks or Cancels Compressor

I thought after installing Shake something else was causing Compressor to be grayed out when attempting to transfer footage to Compressor from FC, and when clicking the Compressor icon on the dock, it bounces a few times before stopping and nothing else happens.
But I think Shake is conflicting with Compressor. After scrapping HD, installing FC Studio, with upgrades to 6.0.5, sequences can be transferred to Compressor within FC environment, and the Compressor icon on Dock work without issue. But after installing Shake, the Compressor option in FC is grayed out, and the icon in the Dock bounces a few times and then nothing happens.
This system is missing 2 things for the minimum requirements for installing Shake. A 3-button mouse, and an AJA Kona or Blackmagic DeckLink card required to preview composites on a broadcast video monitor. Could the lack of these 2 items be the reason why Compressor is not working?

Exception branch in a block without cancelling the process

Hi all.
I have an integration process with a Block where I process a multiline message interface. Inside the block, exception branch for controlling errors is used. When exception is thrown, the process of the pendant elements in the block is canceled. Is any way possible so that the pendant messages in the block can be processed after the error?

Hi Gari,
yes, put 2 blocks in boxes. Outside block is multiline (looping) inside block is processing a single message using the exception branch. Dont stop the process at exception.

The Other SAP SDN thread advised to implement OSS Note 370195 , 331715.
The Input Code given in the Note 370195 SAP Developer can not find in our system.
SAP Note 331715 already implemented in our system.
Please help to resolve the issue for Packing Sales Order Line Items in to HU.

First of all, start your Mac with the Alt key pressed until the boot manager apears. If your keyboard is wireless probably you should press the power button at the same time you start the Mac.
After, go to Bootcamp Assistant and remove the windows partition and do all the process again.
Remember to remove all the USB/Firewire/Thunderbolt devices that are attached to the Mac during the windows installation.
Once windows boots for first time, install windows support software with all the drivers.
IMPORTANT: If the windows partition doesn't boot correctly (Black screen with white blinking cursos at the left top corner) do this steps to boot windows:
1- Start the Windows Installation DVD at system start.
2- Click on Repair System, not install.
3- Select Command Prompt
4- Run these 3 commands: (Press enter for each command)
     Bootrec.exe /FixMbr
     Bootrec.exe /FixBoot
      Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd
5- Exit command line (type exit)
6- Click on Restart button.
7- Boot the Mac and you will see that It automaticaly loads windows

Install Recommendations (RAID, ASM, Block Size etc)

I am about to set up a new Oracle 10.2 Database server. In the past, I used RAID5 since 1) it was a fairly small database 2) there were not alot of writes 3) high availability 4) wasted less space compared to other RAID techniques.
However, even though our database is still small (around 100GB), we are noticing that when we update our data, the time it takes is starting to grow to a point whereby the update that used to take about an hour, now takes 10-12 hours or more. One thing we noticed that if we created another tablespace which had a block size of 16KB versus our normal tablespace which had a block size of 8KB, we almost cut the update time in half.
So, we decided that we should really start from scratch on a new server and tune it optimally. Here are some questions I have:
1) Our server is a DELL PowerEdge 2850 with 4x146GB Hard Drives (584GB total). What is the best way to set up the disks? Should I use RAID 1+0 for everything? Should I use ASM? If I use ASM, how is the RAID configured? Do I use RAID0 for ASM since ASM handles mirroring and striping? How should I setup the directory structure? How about partitioning?
2) I am installing this on Linux and when I tried on my old system to use 32K block size, it said I could only use 16K due to my OS. Is there a way to use a 32K block size with Linux? Should I use a 32K block size?

The way I usually handle databases of that size if you don't feel like migrating to ASM redundancy is to use RAID-10. RAID5 is HORRIBLY slow (your redo logs will hate you) and if your controller is any good, a RAID-10 will be the same speed as a RAID-0 on reads, and almost as fast on writes. Also, when you create your array, make the stripe blocks as close to 1MB as you can. Modern disks can usually cache 1MB pretty easily, and that will speed the performance of your array by a lot.
I just never got into ASM, not sure why. But I'd say build your array as a RAID-10 (you have the capacity) and you'll notice a huge difference.
16k block size should be good enough. If you have recordsets that are that large, you might want to consider tweaking your multiblock read count.

block is a short term solution to prevent any follow-on function like goods receipt and invoice receipt until the block is released.
the block may be set if the price is not yet finally negotiated, but order had to be placed.
a block will prevent the document from beeing closed. you will never be able to archive a document that has a block, as SAP allows only to archive closed business cases.
Deletion indicator is to tell the vendor that you do not want this item anymore (if you had already send the order) and as well to mark the item for a future archiving (e.g. to logically close the business case for this item).

I tried to create a new account and I tried to log in with my old account but I was unable to access skype or to download it. Your GMail email is on Google's server, so you should find the same messages there that you saw before. However, any bookmarks, saved passwords, etc. that you did not sync with Weave or another solution that backs up your settings to some place on the web would need to be rescued from your old computer.

Missing Disk Space After Cancelled Compressor Queue

I am running 3.5.3, with FCP7. Yesterday, cancelled a queue, and deleted the files it created (I messed up the format). However, I have just noticed that I am missing about 40GB on my external drive, and 15GB on my Macintosh HD drive. I suspect that Compressor created somekind of hidden/temp file, because the computer was not used for anything else since this happened. The difference between 'Summary Info' of the entire drive, and 'Get Info' on the drive itself is how I know some kind of hidden file is taking up this space. I cannot find any answer to this problem online.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

I had a friend that used to work as an Apple Genius take a look. Apparently, Compressor triggered Time Machine to activate a Mobile Backup of my external drive, which created a backup of the compressor files I deleted and then did not delete itself.
It was in a hidden folder ".MobileBackups" on the drive, and did not show it's real file size. (Apprently, if you do not have permissions to view/open a folder it may not reveal its actual file size via 'Get Info'). He was able to find it through Terminal and delete it. However, my understanding is that if you made the hidden folders visible and dragged it to the trash it would have the same affect. He also said most Apple Geniuses would not have been able to find this, and would have reformatted the drive.
Hope this helps anyone who has a similar issue in the future!

As it turns out, you can still buy copies of Shake, very cheaply. But I want to be sure it will install on a machine running 10.8.

Yes, your license key is cross platform PC & or Mac you are allowed to have two current installations with one in use at any point in time. You can uninstall / install as many times as is necessary so long as you adhere to the limits.

Hi guys. I've just attempted to download Flash Player via Youtube, but I accidentally opened the download twice and now I can't install it fully. I've tried to uninstall it from my computer but this hasn't worked. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Blocking the cancellation of customs declaration once process is completed

Hi All,
I 've a requirement that the users should not be able to cancel custom declaration doc. using T.code /SAPSLL/CL_CUS_02(Cancel/Cancel request option) once border crossing for goods is passed and the process completed.
Currently it is possible in GTS to cancel customs declaration even once the process is completed.
As per my unbderstanding, the doc. status sholud be be changed to 'Completed' automatically once process is completed.
Can anyone give some suggestionss on this ?

Sophos uninstaller says "Sophos Anti-virus is not installed" but sophos still blocks websites.

Hi, I downloaded the free (trial?) version and didn't like it blocking websites. I dragged the app to the trash and, of course, it didn't uninstall. Looked it up and got a (I think there are more than one) remove tool for sophos but it says it can't find sophos on my MAC. Yet, when browsing the internet, sophos still blocks websites. Any suggestions? I'm a little frustrated. Thanks in advance, Willie

Sorry you're having trouble. If you uninstall by dragging the app to the trash instead of using the remove sophos tool, this sort of thing unfortunately tends to happen.
One thing I wanted to mention is that if you don't want Sophos to block websites, you can actually disable the web filtering feature. All you have to do is click the sheild icon > preferences > web protection and toggle the switch to 'off.'
Another question, I was just curious if you were having trouble with Sophos blocking sites that you thought were safe? We should only block you from accessing malicious websites, so if we were interferring with accessing "regular" sites, you can let us know which sites were incorrectly blocked, and we'll take another look at it.
All that said, if you just want to remove Sophos there's a couple things you can do.
1. Restart your mac, reinstall Sophos, and then once it's working properly, use the 'Remove Sophos Antivirus' app to remove it
2. Manually remove Sophos
- Open Activity Monitor and stop any processes with "Sophos" in the name
- Open Finder, and remove everything in the following list:
/Library/Sophos Anti-Virus
/Library/LaunchDaemos/com.sophos.*
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.sophos.*
/Library/Preferences/com.sophos.*
/Library/Logs/Sophos Anti-Virus.log
/Applications/Sophos Anti-Virus.app
/Applications/Sophos Remove.app
/var/db/receipts/com.sophos.*
Note: You'll need administrative rights to remove most of those files. Then reboot, to ensure everything is cleared from memory too. Then run through the list again, to ensure you got everything.
Warning: Be cautious when deleting things in some of those directories. Not everything in there is related to our software - our files contain the name "Sophos".
