hi. well. looked at the article. but have windows 7 pro 32 bit. and now. the installer runs in the web page. but where can i find the actual files to install. running a 32 bit windows 7 pro. on a toshiba laptop. got visual studio 2013, sql server, sql
compact ce 3.0. can any one help me out. is there a script to automatically install sharepoint foundation 2013. when i try to create a sharepoint empty project in visual studio 2013 ultimate. get a message saying sharepoint foundation 2013 or sharepoint server
2013. not installed. the web installer, is not very screen reader friendly. i run the share point ex file, set it as adminstrator. click yes to the uac. then it extracts the files. but cannot seem to find them in program files. unless they are in program data.
so. i need a script, that has a more freindly web installer or can install sharepoint foundation 2013 32 bit. can any one help. just totally frustrated. when i click on the install prerequsites . alt i, i hear nothing, just goes back to that link. so i have
no idea. and tried three screen readers, jaws http://www.freedomscientific.com. nvda (non visual design access) http://www.nvaccess.org and tried windows narrator. does not tell me when it is installing it. that is the major problem. so. i do not know if it
is installing. can any one help. microsoft has not done a very good job of the installer interface for this product. unless, there is a windows installer off line installer. can any one help. just totally frustrated. when i was installing visual studio 2013
ultimate. at least i had the check box, and use x to go to the check box, with jaws, and has built in short cut keys for web applications. then pressed the space bar to say i agree with micrsofot. bla bla bla, read that agreement a few times. make sure that
all the products are selected. tab to the install button. well wait about 40 minutes to an hour, then it tells me all components have been installed. restart your computer. which i do. at least that is sort of accessible. this sharepoint 2013 foundation installer.
is just totally inaccessible. so is there a off line standa line windows installer for 32 bit. marvin.

  • Cannot install SharePoint 2013 with SP1 on server 2012 R2. IIS configuration error

    Hey Guys,
I'm experiencing a problem which seems to be common considering the number of posts I've found about it, but none of the provided solutions worked for me.
I'm simply trying to install SharePoint 2013 with SP1 on a Windows Server Standard 2012 R2.
I've downloaded from the MS Volume Licensing website the "SharePoint Server 2013 with SP1" ISO file :  SW_DVD5_SharePoint_Server_2013w_SP1_64Bit_English_MLF_X19-36118. So
this is the slipstreamed version which is supposed to bring compatibility with 2012 R2.
As I do not have direct access to the Internet I need to perform an offline installation. I also downloaded all prerequisities. When I run prerequisiteinstaller.exe with the necessary arguments, I get the following :
    (Full log file is below)
    I've tried the following :
    - Restarted the server multiple times
    - Manually removing/adding IIS role + restart
    - Running the prerequisiteinstaller.exe from the DVD or from an extracted version
    - Manually installing the prerequisities
    - Installed .Net 3.5 as recommended here (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/0b597d35-b02d-4236-894d-38efc0c7c6f6/sharepoint-2013-with-sp1-install-on-windows-server-2012-r2?forum=sharepointgeneral)
None of the worked. So I'm stuck and I must completed the installation of this before the end of the week for an important project !
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried all suggested solutions, but no luck :-(
    - tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2765260 > no help and by the way the hotfix provided is not applicable for 2012 R2.
also tried "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regii -enable -i" and got this :

  • Installing SharePoint 2013 with SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition

    Hi,
Can we use SQL Server 2012 Developer edition with SharePoint 2013?  One thing that came to my mind was setting max degree of parallelism, is that supported in Developer edition?  Looking forward to your assistance here.
    Thanks,
    kashif

    I'm slightly incorrect. See http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/4/A/64A1EC8F-F575-41E1-9D34-821FA9F98F8E/SQL_Server_2012_Licensing_Reference_Guide.pdf.
Licensing SQL Server for Non-production Use
The SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition is a full-function version of the SQL Server software—with all the
features and capabilities of the Enterprise edition—licensed under the Developer Tools model, which is a “per
user” model. One license is required for each person that accesses or uses the software.
When using SQL Server software for development, test or demonstration purposes, only the users are licensed
and there is no need for a corresponding license for the actual server systems running SQL Server software in
    this case.
As long as only licensed users have access to the software, customers can install as many copies of the software
on any number of servers that are used exclusively for development, test or demonstration purposes. This
is significant, because it allows customers to run the software on multiple devices (for testing purposes, for
example) without having to license each non-production server system.
But no, as you can see above, you'll have no issues with the software (Developer Edition is Enterprise Edition with licensing restrictions, but no functionality restrictions).

  • SharePoint 2013 with sp1 install on windows server 2012 R2

    Hi All:
excuse me I have a question about sharepoint installation. I install sharepoint 2013 with sp1 on windows server 2012 R2,but i always got "Configuring Application Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role"
message. I refer to this article <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2765260>. I still got this message ... Which I did wrong step ?? I have been troubled for a long time, thanks to the help ...

    Hi  TiM,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you installed the prerequisites for SharePoint 2013 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2.
Please make sure that you have installed .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows Server 2012 R2, and enable .NET Framework 3.5 by using the Add Roles and Features Wizard.
Here is a blog you can refer to:

  • Install SharePoint 2013 on Windows 2012 R2

What are the right steps to slipsteam SP 2013 with SP1, from what I understand this will fix the issues with Windows 2012 R2

You currently cannot install SharePoint 2013 on 2012 R2. You will need to wait for an updated ISO release from Microsoft for SharePoint 2013 with Service Pack 1, which will have an updated pre-req installer binary.
The SP1 currently out does not update that binary.

  • Is it possible to install SharePoint 2013 and SQL 2012 on single Azure Virtual Machine

I had a Azure subscription, I need had created only one Virtual Machine, is it possible to install SharePoint 2013 and SQL Server 2012 on that single virtual machine in azure.
I had SharePoint 2013 and SQL Server 2012 licence from MSDN subscription,
Finally on Azure virtual machine is it possible to Install SharePoint 2013 and SQL server by downloading these software from MSDN.

    Hi,
It is supported to install sharepoint 2013 and SQL server on the same server. However, please check the size of your Azure VM and make sure it is compatible for that.
The minimum recommended size for a virtual machine is A3 when using SQL Server Enterprise Edition. Select A3 or higher when using SQL Server Enterprise Edition. Select A4 when using SQL Server 2012 or 2014 Enterprise Optimized for Transactional Workloads
images. Select A7 when using SQL Server 2012 or 2014 Enterprise Optimized for Data Warehousing Workloads images. In addition, the default size for SharePoint 2013 image is A3.
In addition, as a best practice, you can install them in different servers and then deploy SharePoint 2013 with SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups in Azure:

  • Do you have to create SPN before you install Sharepoint 2013 Server?

    Hello Community
After installing WS2012 and Sharepoint 2013 Server on it, I
created SPN's for the SQL Server and domain user.
While creating the web application I ran across some information
that says if you use Kerberos Authentication you have to setup the SPN's
in AD DS before you install Sharepoint 2013 Server.
That doesn't make sense to me because it might be possible that
SPN's may be needed to be created throughout the lifetime of the
Sharepoint farm which could be forever.
So the question is, is it true that you can only use Kerberos
Authentication if you created the SPN's in AD DS first?
        Thank you
        Shabeaut

You can create it after-the-fact, you just may have access issues until it is created and the user account running the pool is logged off and back on again. Right, it has nothing to do with the installation status of SharePoint.

  • Error while uninstalling and then re installing sharepoint 2013 on same server(windows server 2012)

    Hi All,
I have installed SharePoint 2013 prerequisites successfully on windows server 2012. While installing SharePoint 2013, system struck on for several minutes. I have restart my system manually. Later I then installed prerequisites which showed a successful
lessage. But When I try to install SharePoint 2013. I am getting the following error:
trial editions and lincensed editions of SharePoint, Project Server, and Office Web apps products may not be installed on the same server.
I am unable to find solution for this issue. what is the solution for this?
    Thanks in Advance..
    Prem Kumar

To be honest, the quickest thing you could do (and what I would do regardless) is re-build the server (re-install Windows).

  • Install SharePoint 2013 database on SQL server 2012 SP1 cluster

    Good Day all,
We are trying to install SharePoint 2013 database on a SQL server 2012 Enterprise with SP1 cluster (configured for mixed mode) but the connection is not working (times out). We can telent the SQL cluster network name on port 1433 and we made
a UDL connection file, test the connection via windows authentication and it is working, but if we use the sql authentication it is not working.
Also we have two SharePoint 2013 servers connected via NLB.
Any idea about this issue guys?

event if 3355 means 3 things:
The SQL Server might be offline.
The SharePoint Foundation database access account might not have the necessary permissions to communicate with the SQL Server.
A firewall that runs on either the local server or on SQL Server might be blocking network communications.
Big question, how you trying to connect SQL  windows or sql authentication? is it throwing error on Config wizard or somewhere else?

For email integration there really isn't anything special about Exchange 2010 vs. any other mail server.  Check the links here on configuring Incoming and Outgoing mail in SharePoint:

  • Correct No. of Accounts and their Privileges for Installing SharePoint 2013 Developer Machine

    Hi Dear SharePoint 2013 Experts,
I request you to kindly guide like; the Correct No. of Accounts and their Privileges for Installing SharePoint 2013 Developer Machine. Is there any step by step blog or Video on "Installing SharePoint 2013 Developer Machine".
Tried Installing ALL in one single Virtual Machine using account spDeveloper (which is a Member of "Administrators" and "Domain Admins" Group(s). Any kind of SharePoint Web-Application and/or Sites (Developer-Site, Team-Site, ....) can
be created including MySites and Intranet Sites.
    But when tried creating SharePoint App Project in Visual Studio 2013 and deploying, stuck here with 2 weird Issues like;
    1. This task requires the application to have elevated permission
    2. Error occurred in deployment step 'Install App for SharePoint': The System Account can not perform this action
If Visual Studio 2013 is run NORMALLY (WITHOUT 'As Administrator'), it throws above 1st error  - "This task requires the application to have elevated permission"
Because of the above 1st Issue, if the Visual Studio 2013 is run 'AS ADMINISTRATOR', it again throws an error (2nd error) - "Error occurred in deployment step 'Install App for SharePoint': The System Account can not perform this action"
How to over cum this "chicken and egg problem"??

    Hi,
Have you had a look at the TechNet guidance for configuring SharePoint and SQL on a single server? It's here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262243(v=office.15).aspx
There is also a good TechNet wiki article on creating a SharePoint dev environment here,

  • Installing SharePoint 2013 in a Windows 2012 R2 Server I was getting the following error

when I install prerequisiteinstaller.exe in sharepoint 2013, got the below error:
Error: The tool was unable to install Application Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role.
    Any expert please help?

    Hi,
From your description, I know you get error when you install SharePoint 2013 in Windows Server 2012 R2.
If you have tried all method above. In your case, you have installed the Web Server(IIS), but the
Web Server (IIS) role installation may fail. You could try run commande: aspnet_regii -enable –i.

As SharePoint 2013 does not support Windows 2012 R2 Server very well what you can find from this blog:

  • Can anyone tell me in detail how to install SharePoint 2013?

I know it requires Windows Server Operating System, so  installed it on my VMWare (can it be installed on Win8 by any any any chance, highly unlikely)
When I installed SharePoint Foundation 2013, it extracted files and then opened cmd prompt which opened 'splash.hta' in visual studio. I can't get past it!
    What are the pre-requisites???
Please tell me in detail how to install Sharepoint on a laptop, if it is possible.
I am learning it these days, and want to try on it on my laptop.

know it requires Windows Server Operating System, so  installed it on my VMWare (can it be installed
on Win8 by any any any chance, highly unlikely)
Inder : Yes you can install it on VMware but VM's operating system should be windows server 2008 r2 or
Windows server 2012.  Installing SharePoint 2013 preview on Windows 8 is unsupported, although here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30345 it's listed. You need to install on either Server 2008 R2 SP1 or Server 2012 RC
    When
I installed SharePoint Foundation 2013, it extracted files and then opened cmd prompt which opened 'splash.hta' in visual studio. I can't get past it!
Inder: can't say why is happening may be you dont have windows server.
    What are the pre-requisites???
Inder: Its better if you are connected to internet from the VM to download and install pre-requisites.
It is a pain to manualy install it

  • Could not start IIS after installing SharePoint 2013 Sep CU?

    Hi All,
Recently I installed SharePoint 2013 Sep CU. Everything went well; I was able to install it and run the configuration wizard successfully but after that IIS was stopped and was not able to start because WWW Publishing service was stopped.
When I tried to start that service, it gives below error. Event Viewer did not show anything specific. Please guide me on this issue.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Rahul,
Please restart your machine, compare the result.
And please double click on the “World Wide Web Publishing Service”, in the top we can be able to see the “dependency” option, make sure all these dependencies are started.
In general, this issue is caused because The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service is not installed. All of the IIS services depend on the RPC Service.
Additionally, if the TCP/IP protocol is not installed, the same symptoms result.
