Hi everyone, I've just bought a new laptop and I'm trying to install creative suite 5.5 design premium and acrobat 9 pro extended but I only have them on disk. Can I download them from somewhere and put in my license information?

Ensure that you follow the Very Important Instructions on those pages before you click the download links otherwise the links will not work.
Launch the Trials then enter your serial number to license them..

Hello Henderv, welcome to Macintosh.
Open the Macintosh HD icon on your Desktop. Inside is a folder called Applications. That's where you should put all the programs you download.
Most downloaded software comes in a disk image format. Double click the downloaded .dmg file, and a virtual "disk" should appear on your Desktop. Open the "disk", and you will see one of two things: A application (also called a "program"), or an application installer. If it is the actual application, just drag it from there to the /Applications folder in your hard drive. If it's an installer program, double click it and follow the instructions. The program will be installed for you.
After that's done, you can "eject" the mounted disk image (drag the disk icon to the trash), and then you can delete the downloaded .dmg file (drag it to the trash.)

Are you using one of the newer iMac's with no DVD drive? If so, you can either get an external CD/DVD drive (any make - doesn't have to be Apple) or, if you have another Mac on the same network that has a CD/DVD drive you may be able to do it by turning on 'DVD or CD Sharing' on that Mac (System Preferences>Sharing). Hopefully you'll see the disk on the Mac without the DVD drive and be able to install from there.

I just tried it between a Power Mac G5 and a PowerBook G3 (Pismo) and it worked. The G5 was Mac in Firewire Target Disk Mode. I started the G5 with the T with no DVD in the drive. I started up the G3, and the G5's hard drive appeared on the G3's desktop. I pushed the eject key (on the G5 keyboard) and the SuperDrive opened. I put in a DVD (the Tiger installation disk) and closed the SuperDrive. The DVD appeared on the G3's desktop. I restarted the G3 with the Option key held down, and the DVD in the G5 appeared as a valid startup choice."

Cant install software from disk. Terminal window opens with a logon and bash message?

I cannot install software from disk & in some cases download.
If any software disk is inserted the terminal window appears.
The Disk has to be clicked to open the contents but install files or package files show as a blank doc and not the usual yellow package icon.
All that shows is a log on message in the terminal window, but nothing about install.
I thought Drive issues but the drive plays audio and DVD perfect

I have a Macbook pro Early 2008 - MB134LL/A but its optical driver cannot read any disc. Now I want to install Windows via BootCamp but it cannot. Anybody know how can I install Windows without optical Driver? I tried to boot by USBflash, USB DVD Driver but it cannot boot.
I think that does external optical drivers via firewire work?

Thank you for your reply, and the information. This is what I came up with:
I added the strings as instructed, however when I went to sign the script in terminal, I was told:
/Applications/Utilities/Boot Camp Assistant.app: replacing existing signature
/Applications/Utilities/Boot Camp Assistant.app: code object is not signed at all
In subcomponent: /Applications/Utilities/Boot Camp Assistant.app/Contents/info.plist

Is this a new external drive you are trying to set up for the first time?
If so, connect it to the Mac, launch Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and format it as noted here:

Installing photoshop elements and premiere elements on a MacBook Air without disk drive.

I recently purchased a computer bundle form my school and I receive the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and Adobe Premiere Elements 12 with the bundle. It came with two DVD-ROMs and activation codes, however my MacBook Air does not have a disk drive. Is there another way to download the program with only the activation codes instead of using the DVDs.

Hi - I need to install Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium on a new computer with no disk drive.
I have the installation discs (and serial number)
This is the site you're directed to in order to download the software online (with your serial number).
The site let me download "DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.dmg" to my desktop.
When I click on the .dmg file, I get this message: The following disk images couldn't be opened, Reason: image not recognized.
(I also keep finding advice to download a free trial of CS5 and then use my serial # to convert to full ownership. But any link that says 'download' CS5' takes you through a maze that always lands you on info about CS6.)

i assume you have a mac.
if so, your dmg file is probably incomplete/corrupted. check its file size against the listed file size.

I purchased CS 5.5 last year and installed it to my MacBook. I now have the new iMac (no disk drive) and want to install the software to this machine. I registered the product with Adobe and can see the software in My Account when I login to Adobe.com. Is it possible to install the software to my iMac via download from Adobe.com? I really want to avoid purchasing an external disk drive.

Can a T60 (with completely zero-ed hard disk) install a hard disk drive from a CD? Or floppy only?

Yikes - I am in deep trouble !
Following a virus attack, I have zero-ed my Thinkpad T60's hard disk (using KillDisk), but now when I try to install WindowsXP Pro from a CD, but although it can read the CD and does get so far... it says it cant read the hard disk !
I was hoping to install the correct driver (see below) but now I can't find my floppy disk drive for my T60.
Is it possible for DOS to read off a DVD or a CD?
I have tried to download a file which I am hoping is the correct driver
