Installing SP15 on WAS Java Sneak Preview Slim Edition

Does anyone know if you can install the SP15 patch over the java SP11 slim edition?
Anyone tried it?

Sneak Preview Slim Edition and SLD

Hi,
I've installed the Web AS Sneak Preview Slim Edition (corresponding to SP11) that is available at SDN. But when I tried to start the SLD accessing http://localhost:50000/sld the message "resource does not exist" appeared. The url above is definitely correct - other administration frontends, e.g. useradmin, are reachable. Seems that SLD or at least SLD administration is not included in the slim edition. Is that true? And if so, is there any possibility to update the missing parts?

Gregor, thanks for your reply. As a consequence of the Sneak Preview Slim Edition limitation concerning SLD, I tried to install a Web AS 6.40 SR1 installation, downloaded from service marketplace. Things started wonderful, but eventually, in step 21 out of 22, the J2EE engine failed to start. I found this error message in startJ2e.log:
running C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\exe/sapstart.exe name=J2E nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=blnn0050 -wait
SAPSTART finished successfully on blnn0050_J2E_00, but at least one process doesn't run correctly:
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\exe/sapstart.exe=>sapparam(1c): No Profile used.
Has anyone an idea how to overcome this failure? Which profile is missing and how to get it? Manual start using MMC does not help.

Sneak Preview Slim Edition

Does this edition contain Enterprise portal ,KM and Coll.Please reply.Thanks.

Hi Pankaj,
The Slim edition does not contain EP, KM & Collaboration. It contains the SAP Web AS and NetWeaver Developer Studio and is really - as it's name implies - kind of a NetWeaver "lite" version with much smaller download file and less memory consumption.
However, the Java edition contains these additional components you mentione - and, I'm happy to report, it's back online again!

Problem in installing SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Java sneak preview on windows xp sp

when I am trying to install SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Java sneak preview on windows xp sp2 I am getting the following problem 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Automatic LiveUpdate scheduler does not exist' after giving the jce file path and i can find the registry entry for the automatic live update scheduler .then what is wrong

Do you have Norton AntiVirus installed? If so then you may need to uninstall it and then proceed with installation. Simple stopping it will not work.

Can I add a JAVA sneak preview to my installed ABAP trial version

Hello experts,
I have installed the ABAP sneak preview 7.01 and I need to install an SLD to it so i can register my ABAP stack to another SLD.
As i know i have to install the JAVA stack first before intalling SLD, it that right?
Is that possible to add a JAVA stack to my ABAP trial version? i can not find a JAVA sneak preview download in SDN..

Hi Charlie,
It does say that you shouldn't have another SAP system installed but you can definately install two systems without a problem.
Sapinst should do it for you but make sure that you have different instance numbers and ports selected during the start of the install.

NW04 Full Java Sneak Preview is shutting down!

I've just installed the Full Java Sneak Preview of NW04 SPS16 but the installation doesn't seem to be stable. After a while running the J2EE Server (jcontrol.exe) is shutting down automatically. The developer trace gives the following information:

What is the problem here - I already checked the maxdb-log-size but this doesn't seem to be the reason because it's not at 100%?!?

Im using version SP16. I tried sdm and blank as password still no luck...
In below thread they mentioned how to change the SDM password in SP16..But i dont know how to change it.

Loading Java Sneak Preview freezes at Load Java Database

I have tried installing the java sneak preview on two different machines and it freezes everytime at Load Java Database. I searched the form and found a similiar post with no response. Has anyone had this problem or any ideas.
1st Box was WinXp 1gig ram p42.8
2nd Box was Win2003 1gig p41.8

I have the same situation, I have an ABAP NW2004s (v7.00 SP8) installed and working on my PC. I am trying to install the Java NW2004s FULL on the same PC, and after entering the location for the JCE files, the setup displays message:

Not able to access remotely to sap was abap sneak preview (trial version)

hi all
i have recently installed sap netweaver 2004s was abap sneak preview which is downloaded from sdn.sap.com. but the problem is i am able to access layout tab from server machine only, not from any other client machine. the layout tab shows that "page can't be displayed" mode of internet explorer. i am using explorer 6.0.
are there any security settings needed in either of the machines?

NW04s 07 java sneak preview installation error

I am getting the following error when I am trying to install NW04s 07 java Sneak preview .
ERROR 2006-09-20 00:15:09
MOS-01185 The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EraserUtilRebootDrv' does not exist on the 'localhost' host.
I have the localhost entry in the hosts.ini file and turned off Norton anti virus.

WAS ABAP Sneak Preview - Download options

I have been trying to download the WAS ABAP Sneak Preview. I have tried over 10 - 12 download softwares and all other options, but everything in vien.
Kindly link this download to serverice market place or download manager so that we can download it through SAP Download manager.
I still have not lost hope.

right click on mycomputer then click manage->services and application->services
check here wehter any maxdb services are running, if so stop them.

Sneak Preview "Full Edition"

Hey Folks,
I thought that the Full Edition contains the App. Server for JAVA AND ABAP.
Now I see that it only contains ABAP. If I will run both, Java and ABAP, do I need to download and install the Full Java Edition and the full ABAP Edition?
Or contains the Full ABAP Edition Java, too?
I remember that in the past there was the Info at the download page that the Full Edition contains Java/ABAP and will coming soon.

I have heard that people have been successful in loading the ABAP system as well as the java system on to the same machine. Currently, these are seperate installs. SDN has mentioned, that a ABAP/java sneak preview is on the way. The full java stack and the full ABAP stack are available on the download page.

The Sneak Preview: ABAP Edition is now available. Kathy just announced it in the forum: Sneak Preview Update: ABAP Edition just released!!

Basically this is a "slim" or "mini" ABAP installation with a compressed database component, comparable to the "slim" Java version. It's supposed to run with a minimum of 1GB but 2GB RAM is recommended.
Feedback on this edition, like the others, should go in the SDN Code Sample/Download forum (Software Downloads).

I'm going to suggest that we find a way to reward participants for doing a good job of sharing and documenting their experiences with the installation.
One idea would be to give a "double point" allocation.
That means that good content contribution (articles, blogs, detailed forum posts in a separate marked thread) that articulates the substance of what a downloader does in the course of the new ABAP Sneak Preview installation: tips and tricks, installation guide details, observations and detailed opinions, will be doubly rewarded.

Deleting J2E Instance of the Java Sneak Preview

On my laptop I installed both Sneak Preview: ABAP and JAVA.
I run the <install_drive>:\usr\sap\jc00\uninstall.exe related to the J2E instance successfully but in the sapdb directory there is still the related DB files (+3GB).
Which is the right step to delete also the J2E MaxDB instance without deleting the NSP instance?

Just delete the J2E MaxDB files
You can delete the usr/sap/<java instance> as well.

KM errors out on SP16 Java sneak preview

Any ideas with this one?
i have installed the full SP16 Java preview and all runs as expected, expect KM that is.
Initially post install I had to change the repository manager path for /etc to my local sapmnt share. Now I can see into the /etc directory but when I access KM Content from the Content Admin role I get red runtime messages. Furthermore in System Admin>Monitoring>KM the cache service and most of the scheduler services are red.
Has anyone else got this problem?
I have now installed the sneak preview twice both times onto clean os installs and get exactly the same symptoms. As I said everything else portal and nwa work as advertised.

Our main purpose is how to get workitem data with EP UWL. Then we will be able to transfer the date to webservice directly.
so the question are:
1. Will the workitem data be update into kmc_uwl_items table when creating or modification from ERP?
2. If it's not this table, how to fetch workitem data directly?

We can use these codes to get bpm task itsms,But we can not get WORK ITEMS FROM ERP SYSTEM even 3 or more hours later after creating some tasks.
