Installing TCS3 updated for FM 10 on Windows 7 displays Adobe Application Manager may be damaged error

I got a new laptop and installed FM10. To avoid getting the License expired error, I tried installing TCS update 3. But the system displays an error Adobe Application Manager may be damaged. I re-installed Adobe Applicaiton Manager, but still the same error.

Adobe support provides free installation assistance. Call them.

  • My updates are failing.  Adobe application manager may be damaged.  I have downloaded and installed a new copy and the problem persists.   Please help.

I am trying to update Photoshop CS6 in order to read my camera's RAW files.  It is a camera that is supported by Adobe Photoshop CS6.  However, when I try to get the Adobe Application Manager to update the software, it fails to do so.  (The spinning wheel tells me it is checking for updates and then quits, saying that "Update Failed - Updates could not be applied.  Adobe Application Manager may be damaged.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.")
I have tried to reinstall the Adobe Application Manager 8.0, which gives me the following error message "We've encountered the following issues.  Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."  However, when I go to the link provided to download the Adobe Support Advisor, this piece of software NO LONGER EXISTS. "
The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued
The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation."
So, I have gone to the forums and took the recommended step to update my software manually - getting the update Photoshop_CS6_13_0_6upd-2.dmg.  However, this update also fails stating that my Adobe Application Manager may be damages.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.  Which puts me right back where I started.
I have also taken the step of completely reinstalling Photoshop CS6.  This did not solve the problems outlined above.
    Please help!

I am trying to install an update for my macbook pro retina display and my mac wont restart because it says my mail is still open but when i try and open my mail, it wont let me. I think it crashed. Help?

  • How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"?

How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"? Or can I or should I....??
I am a brand new Cloud member.  I heard of the Retina update.  Assuming this was where the updates would logically appear I went to the "Adobe Application Manager" app first.  Without closing the "Adobe Application Manager" I opened Photoshop and went to the help menu and selected "Updates..."; a second window opened in the already open "Adobe Application Manager".
    I selected update all.
    The result is below:

Now, I closed the "Adobe Application Manager" and opened "Photoshop" again and again selected "Updates..." from the help menu.  The "Adobe Application Manager" opened again with just one window this time and the updates happened correctly.
I was hoping one of the updates would be to the "Adobe Application Manager", I don't think so.
So, If I were you I wouldn't select "Updates..." from an Adobe app unless the "Adobe Application Manager" is closed until they fix it...
Current version: Adobe® Application Manager - Version 7.0.0.128 (7.0.0.128) Note the Two windows in the "Adobe Application Manager" in the attached image.

The updates are currently available by going to Help>Updates within the Application.  Once you invoke the Updater, which is a component of the Adobe Application Manager, it will locate and apply the updates.  It looks like most of your updates have failed to install.  I would recommend you begin by trying to apply the updates that are available on our product update page at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and seeing if you face the same difficulty.
If you continue to experience problems with applying the updates then please review your installation log to determine the cause of the failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

    @them,
I'm just a user like you who volunteers my time here. Your technical question requires the response from a support engineer.
I do sincerely think you'll get a better response by asking in the Downloading, Installing, Setup forum which I referenced in post #3. They have support engineers who monitor that forum for these kind of issues. This forum can only deal with general issues. Sorry.

  • Update problems with Premiere Pro and AAM (Adobe Applications Manager)

I am using Premiere Pro CS6 via a Creative Cloud subscription and am having a problem. AAM (Adobe Application Manager) says that Premiere Pro needs updating to 6.0.1 but if I run Premiere Pro and check it's version, it says it already is 6.0.1 - so how would AAM fail to understand that PP is at 6.0.1 when PP knows that it is already there??
So guess the real question is what does AAM use to decide what version the different apps are at and then tell you which updates you need to install? And how might it have gotten confused?
And most of all, how to "un-confuse" AAM?
Please don't suggest uninstalling PP - because with CC and AAM, then you have to re-download the entire app once again from inside AAM - it doesn't keep the install media around after it has installed it, but insists on downloading the same version yet again, and taking another hour or two to get back to where it was the last time it downloaded the app.
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks ...
    -Bob

    Hi Bob,
I was having a similar issue.
I was getting a dialog, when exporting from Pr informing me that there was a codec update available for Pr, and that I should update via help. But the AAM kept telling me that everything was up to date.
I just tried to repeat the problem to respond to your post ... and it isn't happening anymore!
It may not be happening anymore because I opened Adobe Media Encoder CS6 outside of Pr this morning. That is all I have done outside my normal rutine since the last time I had the annoying dialog...
    Kind of grabbing at straws.
    Cheers,
    DK

  • Adobe Application Manager "There was an error downloading this update"

I have recently upgraded my PC (new motherboard, CPU, memory, etc) and have reinstalled my copy of Photoshop CS5 Extended.
I forgot to deactivate my copy prior to formatting my hard drive.
Adobe application manager is telling me that I have multiple updates pending but when I run the updater it spends 15-20 minutes doing what looks like downloading the updates then proceeds to give me an error saying:
"There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."
    Please see the screenshot below.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple here but I cant figure it out. Is there anything I can do to get these updates to work?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
    1. Maybe - as you will have gathered - you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html
    2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
    3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. • Update Failed - You are already running the Adobe Application Manager....

I'm on Mac OS 10.8.4. When I try to update InDesign CC to the latest version, the Adobe Application Manager launches and give me the following error:
    Update Failed
    Updates could not be applied
You are  already running the Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates.
So, I quit the AAM, verify that it's not running in Activity Monitor and relaunch it... to get the same error message. I haven't found a solution online, so I'm hoping someone can help me get past this.

Rfahl have you tried rebooting and then applying the update again?  If so, and you still receive the same error, then you may want to try installing the update in Safe Boot mode.  You can find more details for starting up in Safe Boot at OS X Lion: Start up in safe mode - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4373.

  • Update Failed: Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager to continue

I check AAM in Activity Monitor. There's no AAM process. Who has any ideas of this issue? I manually download the install package. Run installer still pop up this kind of warning.

    Hey,
Please try to reinstall Application Manager:
    Windows:http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
    Macintosh: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
    Hope it helps!

  • Just completed a clean install of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Application Manager does not work and cannot install a fresh copy from Adobe

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy.  What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM.  But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install.  It is like an infinite loop!
    Please, someone help!
    Thanks!

    HI gener7!
I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud.  I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application.  My AAM version is:  8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work.  A window shows up during that install that says:
    We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.
    Thanks!

  • Adobe application manager needed for CS5

I just d/l and installed 3 updates for AI, ID, PS from the Adobe site. The update application isn't working. After d/l and trying to install Adobe Bridge 5.02 twice, I've gotten the same error message:
Adobe Application Manager is needed to resolve this problem, however it is missing or damaged. Download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager or install this product again.
It must have been working to do the other updates. I just d/l the Applications Manager for CC, which says it works for CS5, but to only run if I get one of 2 error messages:
Adobe Application Manager is needed to update your product.
Adobe Application Manager is needed to start your trial.
My error message is different but to me, implies the same thing. Should I install it?
    I'm on a mac 10.9
    thank you

Thank you for the response Jeff. I had just installed the Adobe software on a brand new computer that had just had a clean install done by Apple less than 48 hours earlier. I don't use Adobe Cloud or any of the online services. The Adobe Updater appeared after I opened ID for the first time.
"The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications."
Does this mean that there were some prerelease installation files on my CDs? This just doesn't make sense to me unless it's possible that something traveled with a document from my previous computer. I never had any trouble with CS4 and CS5 existing together before.
Does this change your thinking at all?
    Thank you!
