Installing the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 program

Is only disc 1 required to install the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 program? Because when promted to put the 2nd disc in & clicked continue it pops back that the program has successfully installed. I ask because I'm having issues saving a slide show, (WMV file). It gets to about 60% saved and stops??? I even tried installing a 2nd time

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

if, your error is:
"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
if you're using a mac:
1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
5. Start the installation again.

Photoshop Elements 4 is too old. It was written for PowerPC Macs and will not work on new Intel Macs. There is nothing you can do about it.

I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.

Just user to user....based on past and current history, Adobe Tech Support is not going to help you with a technical issue which is preventing you from using your purchased serial number for Photoshop Elements. Version 12 is not the current version. And, the Adobe Tech Support is limited even for the current version which is 13. If this matter involves a purchased activated serial number trapped on a crashed computer while you are trying to install on a 3rd computer, then probably Adobe Chat Activation can be of assistance. There is nothing to prevent him from downloading and installing the trial version (Adobe - Download free trial version Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 | Adobe). At the point all you need to do is provide him with the serial number so that he can activate it. If the intent is that he be the owner of the software then you might want to see about transfering the license...

cancel the akamai download and download files 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 directly. put both in the same directory and double click the exe to start installation.
