Hey guys,
Just a heads up, for anyone trying to run the adobe manger on windows 8. Well, that part of the story as it involves Time Warner and their motorola modem.
If you try running the manager via wifi, it will disconnect the modem. Why I don't know.
But, if you hard wire via eithernet, the manager will run fine and no problems with the modem, so far...
This set up involves the Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, D-Link DIR 615 router, and broadband modem from motorola.

What error message do you end up receiving? You may want to review the installation logs to determine the error which is occuring. After installing the last version, itunes colapses; windows closes it

yesterday I have installed the last iTunes version and right after, it collapsed. windows closed it as it found a problem.
I uninstalled and installed iTunes again but, the problem remains.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

It sounds like the file association (.pdf → Adobe Reader) is not set.
The easiest way to fix this is to uninstall, then reinstall the Reader.
Download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Quicktime for Windows -- on Vista -- opens a .mov movie once, then won't open the move and Quicktime won't even open itself. I've installed the latest version, and upgraded it to Plus as well.

I am having trouble opening .mov videos with Quicktime on my PC with Vista. I installed the latest version of Quicktime for Windows (V.7.7), and upgraded it to Pro. It will open a .mov file once, then after that it will not open any .mov file and in fact, when I try to open the Quicktime player it will not open itself. If I switch users to Admin, it all works fine, but when I go back to my regular role (where all of my preferences and programs are there for me to use), the same thing happens. An .mov file will open once, then never again, and the Quicktime player seems to be disabled.
I've tried different .mov files, so it's not a corrupt file that's the problem. And, in the past (a couple of Quicktime versions ago, I guess), all of this worked just fine.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated!

I have the exact same problem. They play on my Mac under Snow Leopard. Transfer to Vista gets a window with black and white and some other noise. No sound either.

Do you have crash reports with a "bp-" prefix that were submitted and that show a crashing thread?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

HT1399 I have a windows pc. It has windows 8 installed and I've installed the newest version of itunes but when I try to play anything, it won't. There's no sound and it says it's playing but it does not. What can I do?

I have a windows 8 computer and I installed the newest version of itunes because I used to have an ipod and I have a few purchases that I wanted to listen to. When I try to play them it says it's playing but I can't hear anything. It does not even says it's played the whole way. It just stays at the beginning. It won't let me pause. I checked my computer sound and there is nothing wrong with it. So there must be some software problem but idk what it is. If anyone can help I would appreciated. Thank-you

It sounds like there is an issue burning CD's in iTunes. Is the playback issue only occurring on a specific device and does the disc show up correctly in iTunes? If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.

Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.
