Installing the Elements 11 package

I have purchased the Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 package, and have succeeded in downloading Photoshop Elements 11, but although I have a product number for Premiere Elements 11, it has not downloaded, and when I try to download it, the system reverts to uninstalling Photoshop Elements. For some reason the download history says the download was completed, but Premiere has NOT downloaded. Now Waht?

Yes. The license says that you can install on up to two computers, as long as you are the one using it and aren’t’ using both at the same time. In other words, you have a personal license for yourself on two computers, not a license for two different people on two different computers.

Am I Installing the Metadata UI Package Correctly?

I downloaded the XMP Metadata UI SDK CC 2014 and per the instructions in the pdf, "To see the results of these definitions in an Adobe application, install the Metadata UI Extension package
in one of the user-specific or general shared resource folders:" I copied (although the instructions say install) these files:
loc folder
schema folder
view folder
manifest.xml
to both of these locations:
WINDOWS: [user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Metadata Extensions
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Metadata Extensions
Then launched Photoshop, chose File -> File Info
And I see nothing new in the File Info panel.
What am I missing?

I have now place theses files:
loc folder
schema folder
view folder
manifest.xml
in a sub-directory called padam as you mentioned, so the full path is:
WINDOWS: [user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Metadata Extensions\padam\...
I have not made any changes to the files in the loc, schema, view folders, or to the manifest.xml I downloaded from the Adobe website.
I still see nothing when I bring up the FileInfo panel in Photoshop.
Are there other changes I would need to make in order to see the sample extension show up in Photoshop?
For example, would I need to somehow change the locFilePrefix in the manifest.xml file?

I guess when I downloaded the SDK and saw "Sample Extension", I was expecting it to work with no interaction on my part just to see the sample. Obviously, I knew I'd have to alter everything to make my own Custom extension.

I have tried updating the value added package on my machine I followed the instructions and removed my previous version and even cleaning the pc with ccleaner and running tune up utilites 2009 but every time i go to install the new value added package i get the same message remove previous version first in the add and remove programmes list.
I have removed this checked and double checked in add and remove and it is no where to be found but still no success installing the new software.
Can anyone help me resolve this matter?

Have you restarted your notebook after removing VAP from the system?
I have updated VAP on several notebooks and have never noticed something like this.
After removing VAP from the system new version was always installed properly.
I can imagine something is still in registry.
You can check it and try to remove manually.
Search all entries for Toshiba Value and remove it.
If this will not work all you can do is to install OS again using recovery image. After clean installation remove VAP again, restart your notebook and install latest version.

I recently was given a new computer and my plan was to re-install Elements 12 on to it. However it won't allow me to do it as it says I have already used that disk on previous computer. How do I install the Elements software on my new computer?

Can't install the Windows Update package KB2674319 (SQL Server 2012 SP1)

Hi. I need to get the update of my MS SQL Server 2012 installation in order to get the SP1.
When I run the Windows Update it appears to download well the package.
Then when it begins to install I get the error "84C4000E: Se ha producido un error con Windows Update" (our server is in Spanish).
I have the last updates for Windows Server, a rebooted our server and the issue remains.
Any idea of what should I do to get the SP1 update?

[Yoga 13][Win 8.1] Unable to install the settings dependency package

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, the extended settings for the camera (resolution and the like) disappeared from the Lenovo Settings app. The app correctly points out that I do not have the settings dependency package installed, but I have yet to find an installer for it that actually installs it (it points out that it's not a Thinkpad system).
So, is there any way to return my camera to its former higher-quality resolution?
If it helps, I'm running the latest drivers, and the lenovo settings app is v2.2~.

Can´t install the Adobe CC Package

Hi!
I´ve packaged InDesign CC, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC and Acrobat XI in one Package.
On this mac where i create this one, i also can install it, without Troubles.
But when i would to install this package on other macs that is not possible.
It´s installs InDesignCC and Media Encoder CC, then the installer automaticly DEinstalls this two apps, and i get an error.
The install failed (The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
This error i get on all Mac. OSX 10.6.8 or also on 10.8.4
But why? I can´t understand this.
What is wrong?

Can you please share the PDApp.log file from the machine where install is failing. The file is formed at /usr/Library/Logs. Mail it to [email protected]
some common problems are conflicting processes. Just close all adobe applications, creative cloud app, and browsers like safari etc. If problem isnt solved. mail the logs.

Can't sign in when trying to install the Elements 13 upgrade.

Purchased the upgrade fro PSE 12 to PSE 13, if has downloaded, when I try to install if asks me to sign in, it just stays thinking about signing in for ages and doesn't go any further.

I've tried that and I still can't sign in when trying to install. Although I can sign in when I go to the adobe website through Firefox without a problem, I'm having issues with Internet Explorer as it shows "can't display this page check that the website is correct", with certain websites eg: facebook, hotmail and my bank, so I don't know if this is an issue with signing in while trying to install.
Would it have been better to have purchased the disk from a store and installed from that? If so, how do I get a refund from Adobe for the download purchase?

Could be many things, we should start with this...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

How do I install the NVIDIA 4000 card?

I am putting in the Nvidia Quadro 4000 graphics card in my early 2008 Mac Pro 3,1. I installed my RAM as well as my hard drives but I must admit this is something I have not done before to this extent. Do I need to be grounded? And does someone know of a video that I could use to guide me through this. I just don't really have the budget to hire somebody to do it at this point in time. The graphics card itself and wiped me out… Wasn't planning on the other one to fail.

Every Mac with an NVIDIA GPU blew away the Mac Pro with AMD GPU. That's because the ray-traced 3D render option requires CUDA support.
Our 6-core Mac Pro with Quadro 4000 was at least 10 times faster than the same Mac Pro with the Radeon HD 5870. I say "at least" because the times in the graph are an optimistic guesstimate.
The CPU was loafing along while the NVIDIA CUDA "aware" GPU was doing all the heavy lifting. This is due to the fact that the ray-traced 3D animation was made of solids with no external media or textures.
Conversely, the CPU of the Mac Pro with the AMD GPU was running at full tilt (1200%) while the RadeonHD 5870 was "taking a coffee break" -- since it does not have CUDA support (proprietary to NVIDIA).
The more cores you have, the faster your CPU intensive After Effects CS6 project will render -- especially if you optimize the multiprocessing settings in Preferences. However, the Mac Pro with 8-cores is not twice as fast as the MacBook Pro or iMac with 4-cores. Nor is the 12-core Mac Pro three times faster. The more memory, the better.

I've tried a Zotac GTX670 (2GB) on a 8-core MP 4,1. Boots fine into Lion 10.7.4 using the MBP ATI/NVidia driver posted elsewhere.
Adobe Speedgrade LOVES it. Realtime playback of r3d files with multiple layers of CC, masks, etc.
Premiere will _NOT_ playback video. Crashes+burns *everytime* with hardware MPE enabled. Doesn't matter what the source footage is (h.264, .r3d, ProRes). Turn off hardware MPE and Premiere is fine again, but obviously that defeats the purpose. Premiere crashing doesn't seem to affect system stability.
I would guess it's an issue with CUDA - Speedgrade uses OpenGL, not CUDA. Would love to hear success stories on this one. Will test AE, since Adobe did a patch for that for Kepler support. But, AE might be using OpenGL as well, not sure.
UPDATE #1: AE does NOT recognize the card as a CUDA enabled option. Greyed out, CPU acceleration only. This is in contrast to Premiere which allows the use of the card for acceleration, but crashes.
UPDATE #2: Did fresh install, applied .5 Delta update and installed the Kepler Driver Package. Premiere no longer crashes. AE is happy (after adding "GK104" to the raytracer_supported_cards.txt in the AE.app directory. So now I can get down to testing. I will be testing the Zotac against an Asus GTX560 DirectCU Overclocked and Asus GTX570 DirectCU. The Zotac has 2GB VRAM, the Asus' have 1GB each.

Help! How to get the Java Communication Package work in JDK1.3.1?

I downloaded a Java Communications API Win32 ver 2.0 from java.sun.com, and try to use it to do some programming to communication ports with JDK1.3.1.
I failed. When I tested with the samples (BlackBox, SimpleRead) coming with the javax.comm. It showed "no serial port found", something like that. I check the installation Instructions of the comm. package, it only described the installation under JDK1.1 and the pre-release version of JDK1.2. (and the installation of the same package in JDK1.1 and JDK1.2 are totally different.)I tried the specification with my JDK1.3, but it doesn't work.
Who knows how to install the Javax.comm package in JDK1.3.1? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks a lot.

This comes straight out of the FAQ that you got with your download:
Q: My application does not find any ports when it enumerates available ports.
Q: BlackBox gives me a message that says "No serial ports found!"
A: In order for the Java communications API to find ports the file
javax.comm.properties must be in the correct place. The preferred location
is in <jdk>/lib. See the installation instructions for alternate locations
and further information.
Installation is very simple. Comm is a standard extension, so copy comm.jar to %JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\ext

Should I really have the i686 version installed?
The 5.8 install includes the i686 version and the i386 version. Perhaps only the i386 version should have been installed. Am I right? If so should I remove the i686 version and how?

Also.....
The install warned that the swap was not lareg enough, I recall something like 2.7GB when I have actually made it 2GB.
And the other things was ....
Checking for shmmax=536870912; found shmmax=33554432
The instructions I followed say nothing of setting this so high.
