Installing the newest version but with keeping the older one

i just bought adobe's cc. i already have older versions of some programs, which i want to keep (different causes). when i open the creative cloud app on my mac, it only offers to UPDATE my recent progamms, but not to install the new versions as new apps next to the old ones. how can i manage downloading the programms now?

I'd just like to turn updates off, until the next (updated) version of Firefox is released. Right now, I can't connect to any websites any time the Version 32.0.2 installs. I can still re-run the Firefox Version 32.0 installer, and it makes accessing the web possible. But then, Version 32.0.2 automatically tries to update my browser, which I really don't need if it doesn't function properly.hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

itunes 64 bit on windows 7 is unable to install, i have the 64 bit installer version but it keeps saying "errors occurred" at the ( rolling back ) phase. HELP!!!

It's quite easy actually. First have your "iTunes Library Extras", "iTunes Library Genius", "iTunes Library", and "iTunes Music Library" backed up. Download ans install iTunes 64-bit. I don't know what's so 64-bit about iTunes 64 since Win7 reports it as a 32-bit application in the task manager. But anyway. Install iTunes 64 and launch it. If you migrated your library to another drive like me go to settings in iTunes and change the directory to your location. Close iTunes. Replace the newly created files with your backed up files. Launch iTunes. iTunes will load and then update your library and from there you are set to go! so basically it is just like a normal upgrade. But if you hesitated to go from 32 to 64 like me, here is your answer.
By the way. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit with iTunes 64-bit and it works without problems and syncing with my iPod Touch also works flawlessly. -

Tried updating firefox but it is not compatible with leopard op. If I try to re-install the older version will my bookmarks still be there?
Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6.
Firefox 16 is the last version that runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5.
You would have to update to OS X 10.6 to be able to use current Firefox releases.

I installed the new version thinking it would be the same, It was horrible! uninstalled it... Installed the older version and now it won't open and when I try it says it can't because the library can't open because it was used on a newer version. Come on! I just want my music! How do I open this and get my music back.

Now I am resting easy and thankful that there is a community of computer users out there who care enough to troubleshoot problems together and work together to figure out a solution--and then to take the time to post and share information.
I would STRONGLY suggest that anyone who is having the iTunes issues where iTunes just plain won't open at all after downloading the newest version and has a pc with Norton Internet Security 2005 try the "Lorraine Method."
I am so happy I think I might sing. Or not--I will let my songs on iTunes do the singing for me now that I can again!!!!!!!
And to those still looking for answers--be patient--I now know how incredibly frustrating this can be and I hope that you all find your solutions very very soon!!

You may be able to go back with Time Machine but this may involve restoring other items too (https://discussions.apple.com/message/20441404). Alternatively:
Back up your computer first, in case the unexpected happens.
Quit iTunes.

Do a few preparatory steps by making sure all iTunes components are not running and cleaning old files. See https://discussions.apple.com/message/20475394. Do steps 3 and 4. Steps 6-8 may be also useful but I don't know if they are essential. Some of the other steps are not necessary, duplicate steps listed later in my post or are perhaps even unhelpful in the process.
Replace the iTunes 11 application with iTunes 10.7. Simply dragging the application to the trash may not work. Lion (OSX 10.7) and newer systems have iTunes integrated into the operating system and deleting is a bit more involved. Two ways to do this are:
1. Use the shareware Pacifist utility (http://www.charlessoft.com/) to install iTunes 10.7 including all associated system files. Details at http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=16400819&postcount=6
2. Check this reference on how to delete the iTunes application itself:

After deleting the application there may be other files that need downgrading too. See the note about error -42408 at the end of this post. You may want to tuck these away somewhere safe until you have completed the installation of iTunes 10.7. I have not tested this but ideally if newer versions are not found then the installer will put in the old versions. This may include these files in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ which apparently get updated by iTunes 11:

MobileDevice.framework
After doing one of the two procedures above you will have to rescue the most recent old iTunes library from your iTunes > Previous Libraries folder. Rename it "iTunes Library.itl" and replace the existing one in the iTunes folder. A newer version of iTunes irreversibly updates your library file so you have to replace it with the old one or you will get an error message. Note, this will revert your library to the version at the time of the upgrade and you will have to update any changes made since. See:

I just installed the new CC apps. Since they get installed parallel to the old ones instead of upgrading, do I un-install the old ones with the un-install app in the old folder?

Are you using a Mac machine or Windows PC?
If using a Mac machine, go to Application-->Utilities-->Adobe Installer-->old apps names and run the uninstaller for old apps.
If you are using Windows PC, go to Control panel-->>Program and Features and uninstall the old apps.
It will uninstall everything related to old apps, but your setting must be imporated to new version of apps.

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it and if anyone knows how to use the drum pads for those programs I mentioned would be great? I found a couple sites for using it with garageband but nothing as for mainly live and Im running OSX 10.6 so if anyone out there knows please let me know!!! The main reason I think I installed the wrong one is when I plug in the rockband drum kit to my usb port it dosen't show up in the xbox controller program but it lights up and I've tried all my different usb ports to see if that might be whats wrong but I still show nothing and I've also installed junXion and nothing shows up there either. but to answer your question, you can still download old firmwares and then press shift while clicking on the restore button in itunes, point it to the fw and there you (should) go. -

Less quick answer. There is NO need to uninstall your current version of Logic. Installing the new version will install extra files and keep the existing samples, loops, etc - because Logic 8 and 9 use pretty much the same libraries and loops.
