Installing: "The system adminstrator... etc."

I'd be willing to bet that this subject has been discussed
already,
however this time it's me <g>.
Installing legitimate copy of version 8, with no previous
versions
(trial or otherwise) on this system XP SP2. I'm receiving the
classic Windows
Installer message... "The system administrator has set
policies to
prevent this installation".
I am administrative account. I've already "disabled" Windows
Installer.
I have several Adobe products installed over the past 6
months with no problems
including Photoshop, Audition, Encore, Premiere, After
Effects and, of course, Reader.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

  • I have had to re-install the system on my computer and now need to download Photoshop/lightroom etc again.  Can I do that without having to pay another monthly subscription?

I have had a major problem with my computer and as a result have had to re-install the system.
So I now have to reload programmes.
I am a monthly subscriber to Photoshop & Lightroom but can't find a way to download them again without entering into a new subscription agreement.
Anyone got any ideas how I should go about it please?

  • My 2006 MBP 15" has now been erased. How do I install the system again

Because I was having problems with my 2006 MBP 15 " - sudden freezing up,  I tried several ways of fixing it all  without success.
Eventually, I was forced into erasing the 500 GB  harddrive completely using DU from the install disks (Tiger) that came with it
and had hoped I could re-install the system afresh from the original disks.
On start up all I get is the "Welcome page" again and it repeats itself continually. If i select any thing the spinning beach ball
occurs and a forced shutdown is required.
Everytime I do an install, I get to  a "welcome page" and go thru the usual entering of details etc.  but  every time after I get to
clicking on "continue",  when setting up ownership/address,  I get a spinning beachball and can get no further.
This  continually repeats itself and  If i select any thing the spinning beach ball occurs and a forced shutdown is required.
I've tried starting up from an external drive with a firewire cable,  but again nothing constructive happens, but I do get a popup saying
it can't find my "home folder as its not in the right place or its missing completely"
Using DU I have tried to do a restore but some how I'm unable to select either the source or the destination - its either all
or nothing available in the side bar of DU.
It seems to me that whatever I do on the MBP I get the spinning ball and no further - even leaving it for a couple of hours -
    and still spinning.
Can anyone suggest ways of doing an install, please.
    Does it look terminalto you?

The external drive is a bootable one done with SuperDuper.
I am able to do a startup with it but then I get that window saying home folder is missing etc.
Surely i should be able to install the Op/System using the original disks that came with it, or will they only work if there is something on the H/D  to start with. I completely erased it to start withj.
I've just found an Install disk for Tiger I bought in 2006 - perhaps that might work or not.

Thanks Paul; but, taking your suggestion didn't solve the problem.  As mail is part of the OS, the updates don't have the capacity to reinstall applications; so, I had to reinstall the OS.  I now have my mail back (although it didn't appear on the dock--I had to go to applications and activate it and then put it back in the dock.  Thanks again for trying.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm not sure how to connect to the monitor as the only ports available on this model mac are Thunderbolt. The mini display to display cable supplied doesn't seem to work out of the TB port. Do I need to use a Thunderbolt cable + an adaptor?

  • Dv7-6059eo, microphone and camera not working, have re-installed the system, updated drivers etc.

Hello. A couple of days ago, my microphone and camera suddenly stopped working. When I started up my camera in Skype, it said "Please open YouCam" or something like that, and when I did, it told me to update it. So I did. Then it told me that I had to uninstall the current version of YouCam. When I did and tried to install the update, it said something like "no video device detected".
After updating drivers and un-/installing things, I recovered my whole computer to fabric options. Still not working. So I suspect that it might have something to do with the hardware. Although I don't know what should have caused it, as it just happened randomly in the middle of the day.

Try the User Tip suggestions first.  Your system does need a plist, but a properly working OS X automatically generates any needed plist files when you launch the associated app (if its plist does not already exist.)

  • I want to create an "up to date" installation disk from my own one. So after installing the system shouldn't need to download any update. Is that possible? If so, how? Thanks.

I know how to make an installation disk without things that I won't use and that can be burnt in a single layer DVD. But I want to make one that would be up to date with all the updates that have been released until now included.
Is that possible? How do I download the updates? How do y include them in the DVD? I would be great if I don't have to isntall them manually after installing the macosx.
I think there should be two ways of doing so:
1.- Include the updates in the DVD and execute them after the system installation.
2.- That the installation itself were up to date.
Can anyone help me? Thak you.

I don't believe it is. TimeCapsule restore would be limited to the same platform it was backed up from?
I think what the OP is after is the idea of slipstreamed DVD including Snow Leopard *&* the latest combo updates. In the Windows world this is referred to as a slipstreamed install.
For example you could have the latest build of SL plus the latest combo update slipstreamed in and this should work flexibly across a number of platforms.
Unfortunately though I don't know if it's possible with OSX. It's a real time-saver in the Windows world though if you have a number of machines to deploy or if you're constantly building/assembling VMs for example.

  • Can't configure FingerScan after re-install the system

I had to re-install the whole system from the image. All went well and works fine now BUT... I can't configure the finger scann utility with my fingerprints. Every time I try, I am able to scan it and I can see that it works. But then the tool asks to save the configuration.
When I try to save it I get a message which in German says.
Vorgang fehlgeschlagen. Doppelte Vorlagen sind bereits vorhanden.
I'll try to translate in English :
Operation failed. Double templates are already available.
I don't have any idea what I have to do now and I want to use it.
Who can help me with this problem?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi
Thanks for all the help...BUT... I haven't anything that has such an icon or is named like "True suite access manager". And if Toshiba people would sometimes try to read forums, they could helpus.
I also wrote them about this problem but didn't get an answer yet.
What is the next step if this tool isn't in the list and I also couldn't find d file in the TOSHIBA directories (c:) with such an icon.
I hope you have another idea ;-))
    Cheers from Switzerland

  • T61p restart when try to install the system.

    Hello,
I have replaced motherboard on my lenovo T61p, old one was broken ( nivida chipset was burned). But right now after replacing motherboard I'm able to turn it on, i can go to bios setting, run mem test from cd. But when I'm trying to install system (Linux, win 7, win xp) it 's restarting. On windows 7 i can see the first progress bar under the DOS but when the bar is loaded and nice blue windows should appear it restarting. On win xp I'm able to format the hard drive, copy the files to HDD but when it restart and run from HDD, I can see the progress bar " installing device" 39 min left, and restart.
I have replaced Processor, memory, disconnected WIFI ,modem all unnecessary device but i still have this problem.
Maybe someone has this problem before ?

This is a longshot, but substitute a different harddrive if possible. If a drive is pulling to many amps, it will force the system down for lack of power. Any direct current motor, like in a harddrive could draw to much amps and cause this.
This is theory, I've not actually seen a bad drive do this, but it's worth a try.
If you don't have a drive to try, get a linux Live CD disc and boot from your optical drive without a harddrive. That should work , and if it seems stable, then you will need to find a known good trive to test.

  • What are the system settings, etc., needed for a project in DV widescreen?

Hello - to do a project in DV widescreen -- what are the proper system settings and what steps must I take to import and log footage? I've tried the anamorphic -- but viewer doesn't connect to camera -- sorry this is so rudimentary but if anyone can help me get it going, I'd be very grateful. Thank you!

If your footage is DV NTSC, it is anamorphic if it's widescreen. You should be able to simply use the "Easy Setup" for DV NTSC Anamorphic and edit your heart out.
If you can't see the camera, might trash preferences: http://fcprescue.andersholck.com/
And if that doesn't work, QT 7 should be reinstalled: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301852
