Installing two language versions of InDesign CC

Hi,
I'm working on a project that requires Japanese and English in the same document. As the English version of InDesign does not have the same level of typographical support for Asian charactors as the CJK versions, I want to know if I can install two versions of InDesign - Japanese and English - with my Creative Cloud subscription. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

You can have Japanese and English version of InDesign on your machine at the same time and there is no need to uninstall any of the version. It is dependent on the OS language, which InDesign will be launched.
Ex:- You have InDesign Installed in English language on your computer.
Open CC desktop app, change the language to Japanese in the Preferences options
Install InDesign again (it will be in Japanese language)
When you will launch InDesign, it will be in English as you have the OS language set to English. If you change the OS language to Japanese then InDesign (Japanese) will launch.

Changing the OS langauge may not be the best workaround/Solution to create the multilingual document however it is to state that you can have InDesign or any CC app in multilanguages on your computer.

The problem has been solved. It was necessary to first uninstall the apps. My initial struggle was that many of the Adobe apps were missing in Control Panel. For example, InDesign was not there. So I had to delete the files of apps directly on Disk C. But now, I think everything is fine.

Help! Error messages while installing the trial version of Indesign.

I got about 100 error messages that I needed to "contact my vendor to get a compatible version of (some such).InDesignPlugin" when installing the trial version of inDesign CC. There were literally dozens, one right after the other. Not sure what I need to do.

Nevermind, I just made inDesign force quit, then restarted it and it worked.

Installing two Oracle Version in One Windows[/b]

I want to know how to install two different versions of Oracle in One Windows Under Different Homes.

A guess is that this is due to the earlier 8.1.7.x ODBC drivers did not support multiple homes (max one ODBC version per PC - ugh!).
If you can't skip this error, try to uninstall 9i ODBC, install 8i, upgrade 8i driver and then reinstall 9i ODBC (in the right home)... I guess a better way would be to do this in the correct order on a clean PC (to avoid registry messup as much as possible).

I am trying to install a trial version of InDesign. It tells me I can't complete the installation until I close Bridge.exe. I installed a trial version of Photoshop yesterday but then found out that what I really need is InDesign. How do I close Bridge.exe?

You can close it in your task manager. You should be able to locate it under the processes tab.

Language Version of InDesign vs. Dictionary Language

hi, i'm new here so first of all i'm saying hello to this forum. after i have tried some layout softwares i made my mind to buy InDesign. I'm from Slovakia and a Czech version of InDesign is closest to our language (since Slovak doesn't exist). but i would prefer English version of InDesign because English is more closer to me when working in some softwares. to ensure in a few things i would need answers for these questions:
1. If it is possible (and I think it's not) to switch between "version" languages in InDesign, I mean switching between English and Czech (like it is possible in Quark)
2. and if English version of InDesign will not affect working with Slovak "layout/dictionary" language (texts) in some negative way.
I think the answers will be both "No" but i just want to be sure before i buy something

I remember seeing a posting someplace, perhaps InDesign Secrets, on how to edit a file or registry setting to change the interface language,(any of you lurkers remember where that was?) so it might be possible to switch interface languages back and forth from time to time if you need to.
As far as using multiple languages in the layout, that's not an issue. Language is a character level attribute, and you can have multiple languages assigned to differnt words in the same story, or no language at all. Assigning the corect language to text allows ID to use the correct dictionary for spell-checking and hyphantion rules. A common misconception among new users is that setting a language under Dictionary in the application preferences is setting the default language for the application. In fact all that prefence is for is to choose which vendor's dictionary for each lange will be used, if there is more than one installed. Default language is set as part of the Paragraph Style is the Advanced Character Formats section, or as an override using the language dropdown in the Character panel or Control panel when no text insertion point is active or text selected.

Open the Creative Cloud desktop app. Click on Apps. Scroll down to Filters & Versions. From the menu, choose Previous Versions.

Can I install two different versions of Reader?

I have Reader X (10.1.1) installed on my Win XP machine but need to use Reader 9.3.4 (or earlier version) to read a CD that has pdf links from an html file. For some reason the pdf's on this CD will only open in the older version (as noted by the CD's author). Is it possible to install version 9.3.4 and have IE8 use this as it's Reader plugin without affecting the use of the existing Reader X? Is it possible to do this somehow?

You can't have two versions of Reader on the same computer. However, there's no reason why the files should not open in Reader X (unless the creator spent a lot of effort to prevent that, which doesn't make sense at all).

Which Language version of Indesign CC supports Thai language?

I'm trying to troubleshoot floating vowel characters in our selected font (Sukhumvit) in Indesign CC, and can't find which version I should be using to be able to mark my text as thai language. I can of course download any version, but right now am in the English/arabic version.
The troubleshooting involves what can and can't be done in terms of tracking and kerning, and I'm helping to author guidelines for Thai usage for this font for global use.
I'm running a Mac Pro (not the cool new one, yet) Mavericks 10.9.1 and using the most recent update for Indesign

I thought that Sukhumvit was a Mac system font, but I was of course completely wrong. Turns out it's an iOS system font, so I couldn't do any testing at all. I assume that you purchased the font directly from Cadson Demak, and I'd take my questions directly to them. It's probably a font build issue.
If I were using a font where I knew the foundry wouldn't listen to my concerns, I might write a fistful of GREP styles that would remove tracking from the floating vowels. Or I might use Peter Kahrel's kerning table script. It's brilliant.
But the most important bit is this: I would also write my style guide so that tracking wasn't indiscriminately applied to all writing systems. That strikes me as a no-brainer. Perhaps your default Latin-script font needs some brathing room at body text sizes in the language(s) you read, and the easiest way to get said breathing room in your workflow is to use tracking instead of a different font or careful kerning. but once again I'd rather use the kerning table script than just track everything willy-nilly.
That being said, It's likely that I'll have to recommend that no tracking or kerning be used with this language. Our creatives won't like that at all, as they like to be able to control every facet.
If your creatives can't read Thai then they should absolutely have that control taken away from them. I'm a localization wonk, not a "creative" so perhaps I'm judging a bit harshly, but if they want to "control every facet" then they'd best understand exactly how Thai is supposed to look - an understanding best achieved by literacy.

How do I install specific language version of App-V Sp2 UI?

The APP-V SP2 UI that can be downloaded here includes all possible languages you can imagine, but I would like to install only en-US version no matter what the language set in the computer is.
Also, that UI seems to install itself at right productcode only when installing user "formats" regional settings are en-US. All other language settings install using different productcodes which makes uninstalling and upgrading almost impossible
task to do.
So is there a easy way to install only en-US? If not then maybe a script that temporarily changes regional settings during msi install?

Answering to myself in case someone else struggles with the same dilemma:
Package has property ProductLanguage. Just set that to whatever language you want to install and it installs it using that. Example:
"msiexec /i appv_client_ui_setup.msi ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress ACCEPTEULA=1 ProductLanguage=1033 /qb-!"
Installs that package in en-US (and retains the productcode defined in property-table)

Why cant i install the trial version of indesign?

I cant seem to install Indesign trial version. It keeps saying error or instilation failed, it keeps telling me to restart my system but i have been doing that all nigth and my trial has not even expired yet. What is going on?

I am facing a typical problem.
I am using ECC 6.0 on Solaris server and accessing through CITRIX where SAP GUI 6.4 is installed.
I have got Internet Explorer 7.
Some dumps are cumming like message_server_x
Then I went for SAP GUI 7.1 in which error is not cumming.
There is only one CITRIX server at this moment and users from all the location is using through this on live system.They are not getting such issue.
But we the new project team is getting this issue of dump.
Now the question is whether it is possible to install SAP GUI 7.1 seperately on the same CITRIX server where SAP GUI 6.4 is running???

The error is because of port (defalut 1521 if you have not changed it) is under use.
You need to change the Tcp port number in
<ORACLE_HOME>/network/admin/listener.ora file
if you want to start second listener.
