Installing Update Manager while using a vCenter Appliance

I created a lab environment with 2 ESXi hosts (5.5.0) and a vCenter appliance (5.5.0).
I need to perform some tests using Update Manager but I was unable to locate the procedure to install it.
I understood that UM cannot be installed on the vCente Appliance.
I can use a Windows Server 2008 R2 host to host it, but I can't find the procedure...
Can anybody please point to a detailed documentation?

The procedure is the same, take a look: vSphere Update Manager (VUM) (Part 2) - Installation
You will need just provide IP Address (or FQDN), port, username and password to connect to your vCSA when asked by Update Manager installation wizard (Figure #3 on link that I posted above).

Adobe Update Manager Disabled using Packager

Hi,
I installed CC Apps by use of a package created with Creative Cloud Packager. I had the "Adobe Update Manager" set to Disabled. Also, "Disable Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application" was checked.
Now that the apps are installed, is it possible to have them Auto-Update again? I downloaded the Creative Cloud Desktop App and installed it, but it doesn't even see that the apps are already installed, and wants to install them all over again.
Any ideas besides re-creating the packages and re-installing everything?

Please follow these Steps to enable the the Adobe Update feature.
Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0
In this location please look for the ‘AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.DAT’ file and open this file with notepad.
After opening the file in notepad you can find below mentioned code.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Preferences>
<Suppressed>1</Suppressed></Preferences>
Change the Suppressed value from 1 to 0 and save the file at the same location.
Same steps applied to Macintosh in the below mentioned location.

Updation error while using a foreign data source

Hi All,
I am trying to connect to SQL server 2000, from my BC4J driven swing application. i am using Oracle containers for Java (Development Suite)
Going by the steps detailed in
"SQL Server Walkthrough" on OTN, i have tested with two drivers:
1) Microsoft SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver
2) DataDirect JDBC driver.
In both the cases, the resulting application runs well for inserts and deletes, but FAILS WHILE UPDATION.
The following error is displayed while using the datadirect for updates.
(oracle.jbo.DMLException) JBO-26041: Failed to post data to database during "Update": SQL Statement " UPDATE dbo.BR_CATEGORY BrCategory SET CATEGORY_NAME=? WHERE CATEGORY_CODE=?".
----- LEVEL 1: DETAIL 0 -----
(java.sql.SQLException) [DataDirect][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 'BrCategory'.
A similar errror is displayed for the Microsoft JDBC driver as well.
What could be the cause?

I am not using Northwind and Pubs sample databases. So that rules out the change in ownership from dbo to our SQL login account.
I am quoting the last paragraph in the document:
"To be able to browse in the tester, make sure you add a driver class to the configuration and choose this local configuration in the tester. However you will not be able to update without errors and this is a known issue. For step-by-step instructions, see the SQL Server Walkthrough topic."
What bothers me is this line:
"However you will not be able to update without errors and this is a known issue"
Are we talking about updation in general, or just updation through BC4J tester. I am using a separate Swing-Jclient application to access the application module.

It probably is generally not recommended to mix application versions but this thread indicates it does work with Office 2010 and OneNote 2013.

Trying to install Desktop Manager, could use some help.

I'm trying to install on a PC running windows XP. did a complete uninstall per KB02206. The installer gets to this point:
Installing Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 sp1 (web download).
Which brings up the following Dialogue box:
Please wait while setupup configures the component. This might take several minutes.
Several minutes elapse, then:
The installation of Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 sp1 (web download) has failed. Setup will now exit.
Gee, setup, thanks for telling me why it failed. Maybe one of you kind souls has some advice on how I can make this work?

Why do I continue to receive update notices while using a mms.cfg that disables auto update?

My Flash Player Settings panel looks like this:
Mms.cfg contains: (encoded w/ UTF-8)
AutoUpdateDisable=1
AutoUpdateInterval=0
SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0
Explain to me why users are now receiving prompts that there is a flash update available? Our users do not have local administrator and updates cannot be installed by the user.

The OS, Flash version(s), and file locations are as follows:
     Windows 7 x64
     Internet Explorer 9
          Flash Player 11.1.102.55 - 32-bit Active X
               C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg
          Flash Player 11.1.102.55 - 64-bit Active X
               C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg
So far I can recreate the scenario easily. Initially, after installing Flash (via SCCM) I don't have updates disabled. After I deploy the mms.cfg to a system, I restart. After the restart the user is prompted to install the latest Flash update. I saw this consistently on 26 machines yesterday.

ie.
My requirement is if any user updating any table [SAP standard or Custom table] using table maintenance, then
i need to update the user name, date and time into custom table.

Try this solution...This might work for custom tables..
Create a new report program..
Take the table name as a parameter..
Then get all the contents from the table and store it in a internal table..
Then call the transaction SM30 with the table name..
Once they update the table and save..The control will come back to the report program...
Then again get the values from the custom table..
Compare the values..If there is any change...Then update your custom table with the user info..

New Jdev install - FND_COOKIE_HAS_NO_ICX_ENTRY error while using Lov

Hi,
I installed Jdev recently and am having quite a few issues with it.
1. I could not make the HelloWorld message spit out a message. That is being following up on another thread. I still can't do so.
2. So I went ahead and created the Empsearch tutorial with Lov. The page runs ok. But when the Lov is clicked I get the following error. I looked at the .dbc file JDBC URL and at by Project Settings > DB/Run Time Connections as suggested in other threads. Everything is fine. However I get this error when I click the Lov. Any ideas?

Can't install update 5.0 using Windows 7

Running iTunes 10.5 on Windows 7. Everything works very well with iPod except I cannot complete the install on my iPod. The download 5.0 times out occasionally or downloads (I think successfully) although 5.0 is not installed on iPod. Internet speed is good (other than in the evening). Thanks for any suggestions.

Updating Apps while using Home Sharing

My wife and I have our own Macs. I've set them up for Home Sharing so we can share some of our music and Apps for iPad and iPod Touch. Now my iTunes shows 3 apps available for update but when I click the link in iTunes, I receive an message stating that all of my apps are up-to-date. I assume these apps are ones I pulled from my wife's computer. How do I find out which apps are available for update? Do I need to log out of my account and into my wife's? Thanks.

another would be to +get info+ on an app and go to the summary tab. it will show you which account purchased the app

I try to set up automatic updates for all creative cloud applications in our company. The AUSST is already working and a web-directory exists, but there are still some problems I cannot solve yet.
1. Does the remote udpate manager also use the AdobeUpdater.Overrides? If not, how can I use our internal AUSST Web Server for the remote updates?
2. Which option in the Creative Cloud Packager creates the folder \ProgramData\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\ ?
3. Where does the Adobe Update Manager save the .overrides-file I chose in the Adobe Update Manager? Does this file also apply for the Remote Update Manager?
4. Is there any way to change the extended configuration parameters for a package after the installation

Ans: Setup RUM with AUSST : Creative Cloud Help | Using Adobe Remote Update Manager

Ans : Creative cloud packager doesn't create this folder. this is being created while deploying the update payloads.
3. Where does the Adobe Update Manager save the .overrides-file I chose in the Adobe Update Manager? Does this file also apply for the Remote Update Manager?
Ans: Override.xml is being generated manually using Adobe update server setup tool. In case you install the package without setting up an update sever under package configuration, it generates AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat.
4. Is there any way to change the extended configuration parameters for a package after the installation
Ans : Package configuration can't be changed once created once created.

Java.lang.NullpointerException with update manager

Install Solaris 10 11/06 and after doing updates and rebooting, unable to complete the check for updates. I get "java.lang.NullpointerException update manager" while anayzing the system.

How do I install to JBuilder 2008 R2 using update manager.

I am trying to install OEPE 11g to JBuilder 2008 R2 using the update manager. JBuilder is now Eclipse based. I add the install site, select OEPE to install and get the following error.
Cannot complete the request. See the details.
Cannot find a solution satisfying the following requirements Match
[requiredCapability: org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu/org.objectweb.asm/[2.2.3,2.2.3]].
I tried the individual components to narrow down the conflict. I also made sure JBuilder was current. I am new to Eclipse and do not know how to resolve this error. Suggestions?

It seems the SpringIDE comes with JBuilder is not compatible with OEPE.
Try download the OEPE plugins from
http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/ganymede/oepe-ganymede-11.1.1.1.1.200904131333.zip
and unzip it into the /dropins folder of the JBuilder Eclispe installation directory. Then restart with -clean command line option.
