Installing updates acrobat 9.0

I had a computer crash that required me to reinstall all my programs including Acrobat Professional 9.0.  I have done so but the updates will not install and the notice I get is that I am denied access.  My program has been registered with Adobe and I do not seem to be getting any real direction from them to resolve this issue.

Thanks, I have Windows 7 on a desktop HP computer.  I finally had to reformat the C: drive and reinstall Windows 7. I use MS Office 2007 too which was also re-installed.  My original Adobe Installation file was on my external drive so I was able to install it fresh.  I had the license saved in my MS Outlook.pst backup file which I had restored.
Thank you again for responding,  John D.

  • Can't Install Updates Acrobat X Pro

Hello.  I am trying to install updates to Acrobat X Pro.  Every time I try to install from the Help - Check for Updates menu, I get the error:
Error 1321. Installer has insufficient privilages to modify the C:Program Files..... with some folder and file listed.
I am using Windows 7 and have changed the permissions to the Adobe folder and sub folders so that I am the owner.
If I try to start to run the Adobe Application Manager, I get an error that the Application Mangager failed to install.
Can you help me with this problem.
    Thank You.

When I was installing, I received a message saying,
"Error 1310. Error writing to file C:\Program Files (X86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\adistres.dll.  Verify that you have access to that directory."
Then it had a button for retry and when I hit it, it finished installing without any more errors.  My UAC always asks me to allow programs to make changes to the computer and when I allow, it's always fine.  I actually like this for added security.  I've never had an issue with any other program.

  • Installed update, acrobat 9 keeps asking for key

Purchased Adobe Acrobat 9 standard as an upgrade from Acrobat 6 in 2009. Has worked perfectly since then...until now. An update was downloaded and installed. Now it keeps asking for the key from Acrobat 6, which I no longer have. How do I fix this?
    Thank you,

  • Acrobat 7.0.7 does not install/update Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

    RE: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/911307
The original question was never answered. I have the same problem being an owner of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. The solution presented only addresses Acrobat X and the E Learning suites.
I cannot use Adobe Presenter due to the Internet Explorer 9 incompatability issue.
    JP

    Hi,
I want to mention that Adobe Presenter 7.0.7 work fine with IE9.
Acrobat 9 might behave bit differently. Please try following steps:-
    Uninstall Presenter 7.0.6.
Download the installer of Presenter 7.0.7 from Adobe website and install in trial mode
Go to  (<drive>\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7) and go inside AMT folder  Rename AdobeConfig.xml and application.sif files
    Relaunch Presenter
Presenter installer will sniff the system for a valid Acrobat 9 Pro Extended license and will automatically get activated

I am getting error #1328 while trying to install update to acrobat XI. The error says it failed to apply patch to C:\config.msi\PTFBD7.tmp. I have uninstalled and reinstalled acrobat as the help page said to do, but it still will not install the update.

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard on both of my computers.
Some time ago, one crashed my computer and I had to reinstall the operating system and all applications.
After I had installed once Acrobat 9 Sdt in the computer, I wanted to update the software version 9.0.0 update to the same level as it was before the crash and that the other computer has version named 9.5.5.
The system for update from version 9.0.0 does not work at all. "There are no updates" listed in the dialog.
Can you advise how I get my Adobo Acrobat 9 Standard (Version 9.0.0) could be updated to the same level as the computer had before the crash.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.1 Won't Install Updates

Adobe Updater shows that the following update is available:
    Adobe Acrobat 9.2.0 (CPSID_5026)
When I select the update and click install, it downloads the the update, but as soon as it finishes downloading and starts the installation process, I get the following pop-up box:
"The installation process has incountered a problem.  Please choose from the following option."  My choices are "Run this update again", "Stop installing and continue later", or Cancel this update and quit".
My only real option is to cancel the update and quit.
I tried downloading the updates directly from the website in addition to downloading them from the help menu in Adobe.
Not sure if it has any relevance, but I'm currently running Windows XP Version 5.1 with Service Pack 3.
Can anyone offer some assistance to get the updates installed?

My personal experience with Acrobat updates is that they MUST be installed in numerical order. I checked the Adobe updates for Acrobat 9. There are two updates (9.1.2 and 9.1.3) that you need to download and update Acrobat before downloading and installing 9.2.0.
The update feature from inside Acrobat only seems to work if Acrobat is updated with the most recent predecessor update. A very clumsy way to do it indeed!
    Good luck.

  • I am trying to install update 11.0.06 for my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but without success multiple times.Get error 1603 each time,

I am trying to install update 11.0.06 for my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but without success multiple times.Get error 1603 each time. I have tried disabling my antivirus software without success. I have looked for solutions to error 1603, and have tried what it suggests (empty temp files in Windows, etc.), also without success. There is nothing that mentions Window 8 or 8.1 operating system, though. Is this the issue? Please help.

    Hi Dawn,
We might want to have a look at the install logs to determine the cause.
Please try the following basic steps :
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Installing Update

I have just needed to re-install Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    After the install I had to complete all following updates v 9.10, 9.11, 9.12, 9.13, 9.20, 9.30, 9.31, 9.32, 9.33, 9.34, 9.40 and 9.41
A rather lenghty process but did this to make sure all the elements of Acrobat have been installed.
    My question
is is necessary to install all the update like I have - or is it possible to choose the latest available update?
Probably a good question for Adobe Technical to answer.

  • Acrobat won't install updates

I have installed Adobe creative suite 3 and adobe acrobat 9
standard. Every time acrobat starts it tells me updates are
available do you wish to install. I say yes and it tells me that it
must shut down acrobat to do this. Do you want to continue or
cancel? I hit continue, it shuts down acrobat and then 30 seconds
later tells me it was unable to shut down acrobat and that it will
not install updates. For some reason the installer thinks Acrobat
is running whenever it tries to install updates even if it is not.
We have reinstalled my adobe creative suite package and this
allowed me to run updates in acrobat one time. 2 weeks later I am
not able to install updates again. Any thoughts on what this could
be? I am running windows XP.

Thanks for your feedback. I tried doing what you suggested. (It turns out that I actually have acrobat 8.1.0 standard)Acrobat tells me I need to install security update 8.1.2. I download this file from the link you sent me and tried to install it manually. Now I get a warning that tells me the window installer cannot install update because the program is missing or upgrade patch may be for a different version.
    Any thoughts

  • Cannot update new install of Acrobat Pro 9

After installing a trial version of CS5.5 Master collection (which included Acrobat 10), my purchased Acrobat 9 Pro was removed (or otherwise hidden) from my machine. After evaluating the different software choices in the master collection, I uninstalled the entire suite and installed my newly purchased production pro suite. Since production pro does not include Acrobat, I re-installed my purchased copy of Acrobat 9 Pro. Since it was installed from the installation DVD, updates are necessary. Everytime I try to update Acrobat 9 pro, I get the following error: "Adobe Updater Install Manager has stopped working". Also, everytime I open my outlook 2010 client, it crashes and recommends that I disable the pdf plug in from Adobe (which I have now disabled). I've looked over the internet and could not find a solution to the problem. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Good day Patrick,
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble.  Please give the following steps a try after a fresh restart of your system:
Repair your current Acrobat 9 installation via Help > Repair Acrobat Installation
Try to update Acrobat via Help > Check for Updates.
If the update fails, try to manually apply the Acrobat 9.1 update via direct download here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4375
Assuming the Acrobat 9.1 update successfully installs, please try continuing to update Acrobat all the way to 9.5 via Help > Check for Updates.
Please let me know how it goes and if the issue with Outlook clears up too.
    Kind regards,
    David

  • Unable to install updates for Acrobat Pro 9.0 and MS Office 2008

This is a followup post to a nagging problem last fall that prevented successful installation of product version updates for Acrobat Pro 9.0 and Microsoft Office 2008 running under OS X v10.6.5. Days of fruitless, circular pursuit of solutions from both Adobe and Microsoft tech support provided no recognition of the problem…let alone an answer.
Fortunately, a few helpful techs at a nearby Apple Store yielded results. They were initially as perplexed as their counterparts but it gratified to this customer when each recognized the problem was real and was sufficiently motivated to track down a solution.
By process of elimination it was suggested: i) reinstall the original Snow Leopard 10.6.0 upgrade disk; ii) download the v10.6.5 combo update to bring the OS current; and iii) download and install the Acrobat and Office updates. It worked—perfectly—the first time.
The consensus seems to be that a combination of many successive installations of OS and product version updates eventually produced conflicting instructions resulting in stalemate.
Remarkably, it hasn't been necessary (or appealing) to perform a clean install since some point prior to the introduction of OS X. Nor has it since. A 'rollback' to the original Snow Leopard version with one subsequent update to the current OS version appears to have cleared out a nest of remnant conflicting instructions. Kudos to Apple's tech support and Occam's Razor.

    Hello,
You can download the Acrobat 9 updates manually by following link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
However, PDF Maker plugin would not be enable in Outlook, as Acrobat 9 is not support with Office 2013.
Please refer to following compatibility chart:
Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications
You need to have Acrobat 11 to get PDF maker plugin in Office 2013.

  • Acrobat 10 Pro: Unable to Install Updates After Virus Removed: Receive Error 1310 ?

Acrobat 10 Pro: Unable to Install Updates After Virus Removed: Receive Error 1310 ?
Attempted to re-install the original Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro from the disk provided with the purchase; and it has put me in a trial; and is requesting that I purchase the software I already paid for, two years ago.

You can try a repair (may need to go to Control Panel>Programs & Features). A reinstall is a last resort, but if you go there be sure to uninstall from the control panel, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, and remove any part left of the Acrobat folder. Then reboot as the administrator and reinstall. Be sure to disable antivirus during the install.
