Installing/Updating XIR2 on a computer with BO XI 3.1 already installed
Client is trying to install & upgrade Crystal Reports XI R2 up to SP6. His original installation files are for XI R1, so he installs and then runs the full SP2 service pack to move to XI R2. He then attempts to apply the XIR2 SP6 service pack but is told he already has a newer version of Business Objects installed. The client says he has BO XI 3.1 installed. However, I am not on site and cannot verify specifically what Business Objects product he may have installed. I also had him try the SP4 full build but that got the same error. Any suggestions?

To be clear, make sure you are using CR XI R2 Service Pack 4 full build and then apply CR XI R2 SP 6. It looks like you may be mixing patches.

How do you mean? Once you have 8.0.2 on there it shouldn't be asking you to download 'old' software.
Did the older installer download already and is lurking on your device? Settings, general, usage. Populate the list and you should see and be able to delete it from there. -

Are you sure both phones have diffrent Appple IDs when you are logging in to iMessage and FaceTime.
Check under Messages in the Settings menu. -
I just bought 2 new iPhone 4 one for and my husband. I want to sync them on the same computer without it runing my sisters already syned 3s. When tried syning my old and i mean very old iPhone's contacts it said i could only merge them with my sister contacts and now i have her contacts on my phone and it sent my all her un needed apps as well. I want to be able to sync but not have her things placed in my phone or have anything erased from hers either. Can anyone help me?
By far the simplest way to do this is create separate accounts on the computer for each person. That way, you each log into your own separate account, sync your own device(s) to your own contacts/calendars/apps/music and so forth.

Apple Update tool floods my computer with malware
Hello,
for several days the Apple Update tool keeps popping up on my desktop and wants to install several malware programs. I installed Quicktime about two years ago and when it installed I was asked to install the Update tool as well. However for some days it seems to act crazy.
It shows things like ITunes, Safari and IPhone Configuration Tools. What is that crap? I don't want it, never installed it but the Apple Update tool preselects it everytime it pops up and it happens almost daily. However there wasn't any Quicktime Update for months. Are those things it list up Apple products? If so: Why does Apple want to install programs on my computer where I need to pay money for using it without even asking me whether I want them or not? If it's an Apple product: How can I disable this behaviour?
If it's not Apple: Do Apple computers have that same malware behaviour running? I thought Apple software is safe and does not get viruses. At least that Apple Update tool seems to be infected here by a Virus then, otherwise I just don't understand why it keeps on popping up with that stuff. What antivirus tool can I use to get the basic functionality back? It just should update Quicktime.
My antivirus tools I use (Microsoft Security Essentials) did not show up anything.
Please help me.

If you have Apple's QuickTime media player and/or iTunes installed on your Windows machine, you might want to keep an eye on apple's Software Update tool. Apple is once again using the update tool to push unwanted software onto users' machines without asking for permission.

the only other solution we can offer you is a simple one: uninstall the Apple Software Update program. The updater is not necessary to keep installed for any Apple software to work correctly on Windows.

I uninstall what I don't use, and the "don't check for updates" seems to works for me, and when I choose to update, it is stand-alone update. Also, take a look with msconfig and disable anything left running that the uninstall programs left.
However, I wouldn't call it nagware, not malware! -

If you want to copy music off then File > Transfer Purchases will only copy iTunes purchased music off the iPad. To copy music bought from other sources and/or copied from CDs then you will need to use a third-party program to copy them off - see the page that I linked to for some examples.

You need to discard or save to an external disk and then discard some of the stuff we all tend to keep forever (movies, music, pictures, docs, apps no longer used, etc.). A clogged up disk also does not function ideally either.

Video no longer plays from sites on comedy central. Site says browser must be updated, but I have installed all updates and restarted the computer..twice.
If it is any consolation this started happening to me today. I am in Toronto. I am wondering if there is a copyright issue here. I have done nothing to solve it - mostly because I suspect this has nothing to do with my computer.
p.s. My speculation about copyright is not correct. Comedy Central plays fine with Google Chrome. Have not yet tested Firefox. -
