Installing / Using Flash Player on Mac X (10.4.11)

I spent the better part of the morning on my day off trying to install the required "Flash Player" - followed the steps, closed browser windows, downloaded, installed.  Said it was complete!  Yeah!  SO I GO TO A WEB PAGE THAT REQUIRES THE FLASH PLAYER AND IT SAYS "FLASH PLAYER CAN NOT BE FOUND".
Tried again and again and again, no luck.  Called customer support at Adobe, sat on hold for 40 minutes, only to have the lady tell me to go to this website and submit a customer service email.  THEN I had to register for the site, THEN I went to the page she suggested, and the page said "SORRY, TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE - TRY AGAIN LATER"  HAHAHAHAH!
What, are they kiddin over there at Adobe?!  How can they make these upgraded flash players without testing them?!?!?
Still on hold now again.  It's been at least a half an hour.  Really enjoying my day off here....
Any suggestions?

I have the same issue... I have spent about 2 days on this problem and I called the apple people and they were like go call the adobe people. And when I called the adobe people they just put me on hold for 2 freaking hours! it would be awesome to get some help on this.
I have like all the system requirements, its just the installer icon wont come up.

  • Trying to install adobe flash player onto mac using internet explorer 5.2 for mac.

Trying to install adobe flash player onto mac using internet explorer 5.2 for mac.  But the page that I need keeps telling me that Adobe Flash Player still needs to be installed.  I've downloaded AFP several times, and I see it installed correctly on my mac, but the same error message keeps coming up.  All of the support that I see is either for mac or for Internet Explorer, but not for both and not for the version of Internet Explorer that I am using.  Please help.  Thank you.

Wow, IE for Mac is pretty old.  What Mac OS are you using?  I'm 99% sure you're going to need an older version of the Player, but I'll need to know the OS version to figure out which one.

  • Install latest flash player on mac 10.9

attempting to install latest flash player on mac 10.9, freezes at 95%, have uninstalled & reinstall
restarted in safe mode, same issue
    anyone else having this issue?

Thank all that replied to my post. I was able to successfully install Flash Player following this procedure:
    1.   Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Verify that the Flash Player.plugin file is not present.  If it is, trash it.
    2.  Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash Player
Verify that the Flash Player Install Manager folder does not exist.  If it does, trash the whole folder
    3.  Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac /install_flash_player_11_osx.dmg
    4.  Restarted in Safe Mode (shift key)
    5.  Mounted install_flash_player_11
right click on installer -> show package contents
Contents -> Resources -> Adobe Flash Player.pkg  (installed correctly)

  • Problem Installing Adobe Flash Player for Mac Air (Yosemite)

I got a message saying my Adobe Flash Player was out of date. This seemed strange because I'd been accessing videos within the last hour with no problems. I went ahead and opened the Mac version installer downloaded of the Adobe site. The install started and after inputting an Admin password, the download reached 25% almost immediately. Unfortunately, it's been stuck at 25% since then. I've tried starting over, deleting the download and re-downloading the update with no success. I've also temporarily disabled my AdBlock and AdBlock Plus. I tried to uninstall AFP so I could start over but the box that's supposed to tell me what uninstaller version to download has an error message saying I need to update AFP.
    How can I fix this?
Edit: I thought maybe I was downloading an AFP for an earlier OS (I'm running 10.10.2). I made sure to download the latest version of AFP for Mac possible. The install is now stuck at 30%. (Just to be clear, I downloaded the install package with no problem - the issue is with the install program itself pausing at 30%.)
Edit 2: I figured out which uninstall package I needed (using this page: Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS) but upon reinstalling AFP, it's stuck again at 25% of download.
Edit 3: The message "Connection failed. Trying to reconnect" has appeared, followed quickly by "connection failed". Guess I'll try again.

I've double-checked to make sure that I've selected "Allow Internet Plug-ins" under Safari>Preferences>Security. I've read in other threads that this is one possible solution but it isn't useful to me since I've uninstalled AFP and but I've been unable to reinstall it.
Edit: I'm not sure if Youtube is supported by a different software package but I can watch any videos on that site with no problem.

    I think I got it -
first, follow this guy's instructions on using your disk utility to verify and repair your hard drive.  http:/http://forums.adobe.com/thread/857425
use the adobe uninstall again, just to be safe - http://http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
    restart
follow the instructions of BD Aqua to a "T" on this link - http://https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2805854?start=0&tstart=0
should be an enthusiastic "voila" after that.

  • Why can't I find nor use flash player after a successful install

Just purchased an Imac Pro with OSX 10.8.5 and after various attempts to install/use Flash Player I'm still confused as to why the installer says all is well with the installation "installation succesfully completed" with no errors whatsoever, the troubleshooting site and, for that matter all applications, say "please install the latest Flash Player"

Spotlight search “Flash Player.plugin” (Search “This Mac” and choose "Show All in Finder")
Right click the Plugin and select “Open Enclosing Folder” Trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt files.
    Go to: [user]/Library/Preferences.
Note: You'll need to hold the "Option" key when you click "Go" from the Finder menu to access the [user] Library:
    Without the "Option" key
    And WITH
    Trash the Macromedia folder there.
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support. Trash the Macromedia folder there.
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Preference Panes (not Preferences, but Preference Panes). Trash the Flash Player.prefpane file there.
    Empty the trash.
Download the Flash Player (For Mac OS X) again if necessary.
Quit Safari and go to your downloads folder. Double click the DMG to “mount it”.
It will appear on your desktop and a small window will open.
Double click the installer. If you see a warning, click “Open” to let it run.
Click “I have read and agree… etc.” and click “Install”. Enter your password when asked.
You may see the following: click “Force Close All” if you do, and then click “Retry”.
    The installer will run.
Choose your update preference, and click “Done”.
Open Safari again and click Safari>Preferences (Cmd+,)
Go to the Security tab. Make sure “Allow plug-ins” is checked.
