Installing Web AS Java

Hi,
I am new to SAP, and it is the first time I install Netweaver components, so please bear with me.
Currently I am working with a test system with SAP ERP ECC5.0 IDES, BW 3.5, and Web AS ABAP + Java installed.
I've wanted to implement the EP. Unfortunately, the project was done in an ad hoc fashion, and when I took over, very little notes were left behind. I understand, from the EP installation guide, that the J2EE admin username and password of the Java system are required if I were to install EP. I could not find the J2EE password. If I were to completely reinstall the Java Add-In, what are the pitfalls, is it even possible (ie. can I just overwrite the existing one?)

Issues in Installing Web AS - Java [ FSL-02077 File system export (share)]

I have installed ABAP Web As - 2004s on my laptop.
I want to intall JAVA Web AS as well. How ever, when I try to install the JAVA Web AS,
It is failing with the following Error:
FSL-02077 File system export (share) saploc does not exist.
it happens after I agree the licence, enter the right JDk version and enter the Permissions file.
I am running on XP Home Edition,
No Fire walls running
No Anti Virus software [ infact I uninstalled it]
No Ports are in use [as per Pre Reqs]
User has the Administrator access
Any insights ... Please ...

File system export (share) saploc does not exist
Means that the share is missing, one of the pre-installation steps is create the installation folders and the shares...
folder sap (<drive>:\usr\sap) must be shared as saploc and sapmnt

Error when installing WEB AS JAVA on HPUX.

The environmantal variables are set.
JAVA_HOME=/opt/java1.4 and PATH=/opt/java1.4/bin
its showing the version and even it works when i do echo $JAVA_VERSION.
i tried with sdk1.4.2.8 and aslo with version sdk1.4.2.6 for both it give the same error.

Web AS-Java 640 Add-In installation for XI

HI Guys,
We have installed Web-As ABAP 640 on Windows 2003 and MSSQL 2000 SP3 server.
We have created named instance called "SAPDEV01\SAPXI".
While installing Web As-Java 640 as a Add-In we have encounted following error:
"SEVERE: couldn't connect to DB
java.sql.SQLException: [DataDirect][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed for user 'SAPGXDDB'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
We have checked the authentication mode of MSSQL server, it is "SQL server and Windows", still we are facing the problem.
Please give us solution ASAP.

7.0 was able to add Java usage types such as EPC, or EP, to existing ABAP-only
systems. This was possible only, if you added AS Java at the same time. The option of a
Java Add-In installation is not any longer available as of the enhancement package 4 for
SAP ERP 6.0. Thus, it is not any longer possible, for example, to add EPC and EP
together with AS Java to an ABAP-only system.

Reg Web AS Java Add in installation

Hi ,
I am trying to install Web AS java add-in in a DEV system.
During the installation process the it prompts for a production client and its DDIC password.. Why do i need a prodction client for a DEV system. Is this mandatory to have a production client only.
And is the client required only for creating a JSF user ?or is it used for some other purposed also ?

Hi,
I was running into the same issue with Windows 2003 Server x64 and SQL Server 2005. I followed the above suggestion of copying the java.exe executable into the SAP Patch Installation directory which for me was C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\PATCH\MSS. Then, when I restarted the Patch Installation, I was able to move past this issue.

I had started un-install of my web abap+java add in sp13 by mistake.
It had proceeded with the un-install for a few seconds after which i had cancelled.Due to this some files would have got deleted. Any suggestions on how to know which files have been deleted and how do we recover them.

Yes,
The order of installation is
WebAS for java, portal and then KMC. TREX can be done in the same or separate stand alone system depending upon the system's capability. So You need to apply KMC over the portal that is already installed and TREX installation is separate. It can be made to point to the portal server which acts as a client to the TREX server. For TREX to point to portal, KMC must be applied over Portal.

Hi,
I've tried to install web server 7.0U3 on Debian etch 64 today and ran into the same problem. The solution to that problem was to install those packages: ia32-libs libstdc++5 as discribed here in one of the comments -> http://blogs.sun.com/kkranz/entry/installing_sun_java_system_web

Web AS Java 6.40 sp11

I was installing sp11 from sp0 on an XI 6.40 system, following the sp11 install pdf documentation. I patched the kernel, imported the SAP BASIS 6.40 sp, changed relevant configuration (including updating the jdk from 1.4.2_05 to 1.4.2_07) but when I got to the section on SAP Web AS Java 6.40 support package I ran into an issue. I downloaded the relevent patches and unpacked with SAPCAR, ran SAPInst from the unpacked folders and all was working until it reached the phase "Deploy File System" directly following the phase "SDM Installation/Upgrade". I got an error dialog (Retry/View Log/Stop/Reset) and the log showed the following error:

I also get this error if I run the above call on the command line, together with a java stack, which also appears in the logs:

I can't find anything in the sap notes about this, or in the other documentation, and am really stuck. I have tried checking if there is another sdm server running and there is not (if I start one I get a different error saying that there is already an SDM server running)
If I really can't work out what to do I will have to go back to the last system backup I did because at the moment the J2EE engine won't even start and I can't get the SAPInst to go forward or backward to where I was before I ran it (e.g under j2ee/os_libs I have a folder "moved_by_sapinst" which remains even when I do a "reset" after the error and the Jlaunch exe has been moved there, and I think this may be why my j2ee server is not starting??)

Does anyone else have any suggections as to what I might try? I am still having this issue and have tried everything I can think of, I will keep trying but am running out of ideas.. The fact that the stack trace mentions CVERS table leads me to believe that the Web AS Java sp11 install is maybe looking for a component in my system that is not there, the only 4 things listed in my CVERS table are:
PI_BASIS 2004_1_640 0008 X
SAP_ABA 640 0011 S
SAP_BASIS 640 0011 S
SAP_BW 350 0011 W
Could I be missing something vital or is this a red herring?!

I am new to Web dynpro java.
   I have created sample application through NWDS. I wanna run the application in server.
   please tell me from where I have to download the server and the steps to install the server.
   I have installed sap management console, but frankly speaking don know how to proceed my next step.

I tried to download the Software according to your instructions. I could follow the path Installations and Upgrades -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER, but then the only choices left are:
