Installing WEBDB on Sun Webserver

Hi there,
I followed the instructions of WEBDB installation and tutorial to install webdb 2.0 to run on my SUN webserver on solaris 2.7.
After I have done that it does not seem to work. It run fine on webdb listener.
Does anyone have any ideas???

Install the base GNOME environment with:

I followed your steps for installing policy agent 2.2 on webserver 6.1
After completed of policy agent installation. I restart the web server instance but I got following error
Configuration initialization failed: Error running init function load-modules: dlopen of /opt/SUNWam/agents/es6/lib/libames6.so failed (ld.so.1: webservd: fatal: /opt/SUNWam/agents/es6/lib/libames6.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32).
Can anybody know why this error is coming?

Installing Webdb 2.1 on Solaris big problem

"You entered an incorrect system password
or an incorrect TNS names alias" error message while I was installing the Webdb 2.1
on Sun Solaris.
During configation :
In installer I entered other new home:
ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/webdb
Host Name: sun1
Data Access: WebDB
WebDB Schema: WEBDB
Listener Post: 2000
Enter your Oracle database SYS user password
and TNS names alias.
Password: abc
TNS Name Alias: UDEV01
( I also tied UWEB01 which was new added Webdb TNS name in tnsname.ora )
( UDEV01 is current using database TNS name )
when I entered the following error message
will issus :

As the other configation :
"TNS_ADMIN=/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.5/network/admin" has set in env.
while, I checked to login the server was sucessed :

Today I had the same error message, while installing WEBDB 2.2 on 8.1.6 on Solaris 2.7
It seemed to have 2 causes.
1.
In the directory $TNS_ADMIN was pointing to, an (old) sqlnet.ora file did exist. When I removed this file, a tnsping from the WEBDB ORACLE_HOME/bin was possible.
2.
During the install of webdb, an error appeared because sqlplus couldn't be linked. This was caused by /usr/ccs/bin not being in my PATH, and therefor the make command couldn't be found.
After de-installing webdb, changing my PATH variable and installing webdb again, things worked for me.

Error while Starting portal On Sun Webserver.

I have installed Sun portal server 7.1. on Sun Webserve 7.1 and while starting Webserver is throwing Errrors.
Every thing is fine before but after change of IP Address I am getting these kind of errors.

the application works fine when I try with webservice code that was built on worshop 8 ..but when i changed the code to workshop 10 it is getting build properly only during startup its giving issue....All Jar are same as the old one...only the new that I have created from wsdl for xjava is the new jar..
I have included the same in the set environment and use it from from my ant build.

I tried the same with root user as well but same result found. Any thoughts???
Important Note: I know its 64-bit platfrom. As I have already tried the 64-bit installation which goes perfectly good and server was running perfectly. But I need to use WebServer with Oracle Access Manager WebPass for NSAPI which is 32-bit. Previously I configured the webpass with 64-bit Sun WebServer successfully but after configuration Sun WebServer fail to start with following exception;

Yes, I know, but thats what I am trying I am trying to downgrading the Sun One WebServer to 32 bit becasue Oracle does not supply 64-bit version and thats where I am having problem. I am unable to install x86 version of Sun Web Server I have downloaded from Sun website on my machine I have mentioned in my first post.
Section 'Important Note' is just an extra infomration to elborate the complete scenario.

Joomla on Sun webserver 7 php safe_mode

Hi,
Trying to install joomla on solaris 10 with sun webserver 7 and mysql. Got php installed and working fine, but when going through the joomla config, it needs safe_mode to be set to Off. However, when I make this change in the php.ini file its not reflected in phpinfo(). Its like its still set to on. I have confirmed that the php.ini settings are being read as other changes are reflected. Just seems to have a problem with this setting. Any ideas?

I installed php using the phppack and followed the sun docs. sun/webserver7/plugins/php
Also, with suns pack I think safe_mode is On by default from what I can tell.
Thoughts?

Issue with Sun Webserver 7

Hi
I am facing issue with sun webserver7.0. I installed 64 bit version of sun webserver 7 on solaris 64 bit machine.
I added my NSAPI extension to it. And it works fine.
The problem i m facing is things are not consistance.. Like i configure my connector(nsapi extension) and request pageof that extension some time it comes and sometimes not.
when i restart web server things starts working fine. until my connector restart when it adds extension to it.
Also seen cases where the same page can be opened in IE cannt working in firefox.
i tried all possible cases. I still not able to figure out issue is in my connector or their is issue with web server 7 for 64 bit.

1. Web Server's Web Container supports jsps.

Can Sun Webserver 7.0 be managed through JMX instead of CLI / GUI?

I've recently got the new book on Sun Webserver 7.0 and something piqued my interest; the fact that both the CLI and the GUI use JMX to manage the underlying software.
Having used JMX before to manage servers and looking to integrate Sun Webserver into my infrastructure I went to see if I can get JMX control over the application.

To my dissapointment I can only see the memory stats of the admin server.
None of the interesting Mbeans (FastCGI, etc) seem to work.
Is there some way I can interface with Sun Webserver 7.0 from Java that does not involve changing the xml configs from Java or calling the WADM commands through ProcessBuilder?

The JMX interface isn't considered public. You might be able to discover its syntax and use it yourself, but it's not publicly documented and can change without notice. The supported methods of administering the Web Server are the GUI, the CLI, and direct manipulation of the configuration files.

Install webdb in 8i at solaris, pls help!!!!

This is the fifth time I failed in installing webdb in 8i at
solaris 2.7.
The problem is: when I go to the webdb home, I got an ora-06564
:object gateway.home does not exist.
I guess probably because I installed webdb in the ORACLE_HOME,
but the weird thing is: I can only install in the 8i's
ORACLE_HOME, other than that, the installer can't recognize the
sys password and refuse to let me proceed.
I am really wondering why the installer only recognize sys
password when I set the ORACLE_HOME to 8i's ORACLE_HOME? My
sqlplus works fine in any directories!

have a look in your $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory. If the init<ORACLE_SID>.ora file has remote_login_password=exclusive then you should also have a file called orapw<ORACLE_SID>. If you haven't, then create one by running "orapwd file=orapw<ORACLE_SID> password=internal entries=5".
This has worked for me in the past, hope it helps.

I am looking for a equivalent command for this in SUN Webserver. This command is specific to IBM HTTP server.
RedirectMatch permanent ^/$ /content/common/index.jsp
Purpose: One of our sites www.xyz.com is redicted to URL www.xyz.com/content/common/index.jsp immediately. We are not able to carry the referral inforamtion from www.xyz.com to second URL. So we are missing some vital statistics.

Sun WebServer(a.k.a iPlanet) 6 SP 5 Passthrough.dll

We are running Sun WebServer(a.k.a iPlanet) 6 sp5 that proxies all the requests to weblogic servers. We tried using proxy36.dll but the response time was slow(Have opened a ticket with BEA weblogic). We then configured passthrough.dll to proxy all the request to the weblogic server. The problem that i'am facing here, no matter how many servers we specify in the servers attribute it always picks up the first one listed and forwars all the request.
Here is the entry in obj.conf

I did tried this with SJS Web Server 6.1 SP5, and the load balancing does work for me.
Here is the simple test I perform.
- configured three backend servers A, B and C
- configured SJS Web Server 6.1 SP5 with the Reverse Proxy Plugin, described here http://docs.sun.com/source/819-0902/rpp61.html point to three servers above
- send a request to a simple webapp, it goes to server A, successive requests from the same client go to the same server, since stickyness is implied to keep session alive
- restarted the browser, send a new request, this time it when to server B
Here is my config:
