Installing Windows 7 Disc not found

Hello,
When I try to install Windows 7 professional 64 bit I install the CD and click start installation on the boot camp assistant. It returns with "The installer disc could not be found Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized." I don't know what to do. It doesn't recognize it at all. Any suggesitons would be helpful please!!
Thanks!

What I'm saying is that the DVD I'm using has been used by other students to install Windows 7, with their respective product codes. It's most likely not a problem with the disk. I don't know how he burned it. Is there any other problems that could be causing this?

Hello @rossinnit and welcome to the HP Forums!
I'd like to help you get the Deskjet 2542 installed on your Windows 7 PC
I'd recommend that you download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard, and that will seek out the drivers online (from the HP web page) and download them for you and then start the install as well.
With that tool you can plug in the USB cable when it asks near the beginning to find the right drivers.

  • Problem Installing Oracle Linux 6.3 - 'Disc not found message box'

I'm trying to install Oracle linux on a old laptop. Single disk drive.
I downloaded V33412-01Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 3 Boot iso image for x86_64 (64 bit)
burned it as an ISO image on a CD.
Inserted the CD,started the system, cd booted and the installation started.
Skipped the verify media (I verifed it during another installation try)
    selected English
    selected US
When prompted for installation method, I tried selecting 'LOCAL CD/DVD' since that's where my CD is at. I get a 'Disc not found message box'.
I've also tried to select the /dev/sda1, which the installation accepted, only to fail later saying it can't find the ISO image.
I also tried putting the ISO image and unzipping the contents of the file onto a USB stick and selcting this during the install - same error.
I tried putting V33413-01 onto the USB stick and selcting that - its too big to burn on a CD, that didn't work..
Any ideas here? Though this was a easy installation but I'm scratching my head as to how to continue?

Not very clearly - for me at least.
Not sure - and not sure where to find instructions on how to do this.
It mentions that you don't need the source CDs
    Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 3 source DVD 1 V33413-01 3.1G
    Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 3 source DVD 2 V33414-01 1.7G
Not sure what to do with these anyway.
    Installation
To install Oracle Linux 6.3 from DVD media, follow the following steps:
    1. Download the compressed binary DVD images
Download Oracle Linux 6.3 DVD from the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud.
You do not need to download source DVDs to install Oracle Linux.
    2. Verify the downloaded media
Verify the downloaded file by comparing its sha1sum or md5sum with the published
    sha1sum or md5sum.
    3. Write the DVD image to DVD
Use your favorite cd burning software to write these images directly to DVD.
You should not simply copy the files onto the DVD. You must use a DVD burner
that can accept an ISO image as input, and which can create a bootable DVD
from it. To test if you have burned the images correctly, insert a burned
DVD and ensure that multiple files and directories are visible.
    6. Insert the DVD, and boot
Insert the DVD into your system, boot from DVD, and follow the on-screen instructions
    to deploy Oracle Linux!

I need some help!!! I am trying to sync a TV SHow to my iPod and I can't get it to work. For some reason in iTunes, I have to completely unplug and plug in my iPod anytime I want it to sync, pressing the sync button does not work, neither does pressing the apply button after checking the TV show that I want to sync. SInce I don't have to update any settings for music, this isn't a problem, I just unplug my iPod and plug it back in and it syncs automatically. The error message I get when trying to sync Shows, or videos or anything where you have to update is Can't sync iPod required disc not found. If someone could respond to this right away, I would appreciate it as we are going to be traveling today, and I would love to have something to watch during my four hour flight!

You need to run the i586 installer on a 32-bit machine. It won't work on a 64-bit machine.
If you want to install on a 64-bit machine then you need the 64-bit installer.

  • Bootcamp 4.0.1 Installing Windows 7 disc not found.

When I try to install Windows 7 on my Macbook 13-inch, Late 2009 Running: 10.7.2.
Atttempting to install Windows 7, I go to partition and install, and Bootcamp tells me that no disc is found. Meanwhile the disc is inside.
My friend had purchased an iso and i burned onto a disc with Toast 11.
What can i do to fix this?

I always burn using Nero, creating a bootable CD as opposed to a data CD.

  • Windows XP disc not found

I have a full version of Windows XP SP2 that I am trying to install on my intel-based mac. After partitioning the hard drive, Boot Camp Assistant guides me to insert the Windows disc and click "start installation." When I do this, I get a message stating that "The installer disc could not be found." I have tried rebooting and holding the "option" key, but the disc is still not found. What can I do?

I have tried restarting holding down the command key and seeing if the windows install disc will propose, but it doesn't.
I assume you were trying to follow xnav's suggestion. The key, 'C', to hold down while restarting is not the Command key; it is the first letter in the word 'cat'.
I further assume you are using a Windows XP with SP2 disk. If you do not have SP2 all sorts of problems will arise. Even though it should have given the iMac problems if it did not have SP2, it is worth confirming that the disk has SP2. Or is a 32 bit Vista.
One final thing(s) to try. Insert the Windows disk while booted into Mac OS. Does it mount? Can you browse it? If so, can you copy it onto another disk? Some/all MB(P)'s can be a bit picky about disks. If the Windows disk is scratched/smudged/dirty, it is possible that the iMac can read it but your MBP cannot, and if the disk is warped the Windows drivers on the install CD are too primitive to compensate. Making a copy might produce a usable disk.
But really, what's with all these colleges that require Windows???

  • Cannot Install Windows, disc ejects

I have used Boot Camp to install Windows a few times before on my Leopard operating system, though I had to uninstall it a couple times (I realized I couldn't use my reinstall disc from my old PC). Every time it worked smoothly and I never had any troubles.
For some reason this time around, I am able to partition the disc just fine, but when I choose to start the installation, the computer reboots, but instead of installing windows, it ejects the disc needed and simply starts up Mac OSX. I've tried using option to select the disc (the disc ejects before I'm given my options) and telling the computer to reboot using the disc. Neither has worked. I've used this same disc before to install Windows, and it worked fine then. What can I do to make the disc not eject, so I can install windows?

I experienced this as well. What I discovered is if you push the XP install disc back into the drive while your Mac is still at the grey screen when it reboots you will find the install will continue just fine. This will happen a couple of times during the install process, just push the XP install disc back in each time and XP will install.

  • Installing Windows 7 not allowing trackpad to click

I have a fully loaded MacBook Air and I'm trying to install Windows 7 Pro SP1.
I can successfully partition the drive and make an iso image on a USB drive but....
When the Air restarts and Windows starts to load, I cannot hit the "Next" key to complete the installation from the USB drive.
Any thoughts?  Can I perform the install using the original DVD disc and external USB optical drive or without using the Bootcamp Assistant?

I found that my USB connected external speakers were causing the problem. I unplugged them, relaunched itunes (can't remember if i rebooted) and then my music was playing fine. I then plugged the USB speakers back in and they also worked fine.

I have got the same error while installing the webcenter sites for the first time.
HTML 404 code suggests the file required is not found.
Although I have got the successful installation message after installing the webcenter sites, the required sso login files are not present in my element catalog.
To be specific, ElementCatalog-->fatwire--> wem--> sso--> ssoLogin is used for testing the login by wem framework.
Please check if these files are present in your element catalog.
I have got this fixed by re-installing the webcenter sites after checking valid database configurations.
    Thanks.

  • Installing Windows, disc stuck

    So here's my big issue:
I'm trying to use Boot Camp to install Windows 7 64-bit (purchased).  Unfortunately, I didn't research this decision prior to purchase, so when I tried to install Windows using Boot Camp and installed the Windows disc, it restarted the machine and gave me the error:
    1.
    2.
    Select CD-ROM Boot Type: __
The computer isn't receiving anything from the wireless keyboard (?), so I can't make any selections, input any info, or even eject the disc.
I've tried restarting and hitting the alt/option key to select the partitioned drive I want to use.  I've tried hitting the eject button on my keyboard.  Nothing is happening or working.
I need help!  I can't get back to Mac, I can't move forward with the Windows install, it's stuck stuckity stuck.
    Thanks,
    Mel

Honestly I don't think you can easily upgrade windows XP to windows 7 over bootcamp. I think the easiest (but maybe longest) way to get windows 7 up and running in bootcamp, is to backup your files on the windows partition, then erase that partition followed by installing windows 7 on the freshly erased partition using the bootcamp assistant in OS X.

There must be a problem with the lvwutil32.dll file somehow. There are
several versions of this DLL floating around so maybe check that you
    have a recent version.

If you have LabVIEW 7.0 or better you can use the VI Property "Front
Panel->State" to change the current state of the VI anytime during your
    program.
