it  is possible to install windows 7 on my hp pavilion g62228dx??......
and get the drivers for it also.....because im not happy with windows 8.1
i await your imidiate relpy\............

****Disclaimer*****
HP doesn't recommend the installation of Windows 7 on a computer shipped with Windows 8, nor will it support the installation of Windows 7. HP may not provide Windows 7 drivers and suitable drivers may not be available for the hardware in the computer. Also, Windows 7 may not support some of the hardware or software features designed for the computer.
Make sure you create your HP Recovery Discs or USB Flash Recovery media before modifying or changing ANYTHING.
You will need to purchase a copy of Windows 7 with a vaild Microsoft COA and product key.
The screen shots below are from an HP 15t-j100 notebook computer... the options and configuration screens on your computer may differ.
You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "BIOS Secure Boot configuration" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, before you can attempt to install Windows 7;
After saving the changes, the computer will request that you confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and pressing the "ENTER" key.
If are you are installing from a USB stick and see a "Load Driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing" message, this is because "System Configuration" > "USB3.0 Config in Pre-Boot" is set to "Enabled". This must be set to "Auto". This should clear up the CD/DVD device missing.
Additionally, as the hard drive is most likely partitioned as GPT, you must boot using the UEFI-Internal CD/DVD or UEFI-USB Key/Drive to install Windows on a GPT partitioned disk. Turn on or reboot the computer and tap "F9" or "ESC" and then "F9" when prompted. Highlight the UEFI boot source you are using and press "ENTER".
I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best intallation experience. If you need Windows SP1, please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" to download and create your own Windows 7 SP1 disc. If the DVD refuses to boot as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (may require DISABLING "Fast Boot" in the BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid UEFI enabled USB Flash drive if it is formated as NTFS and may require a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer, or WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, as it has options for "GPT partition scheme for UEFI computer" and "FAT32".
From the top...
1)  Turn on the computer and immediately start tapping the "ESC" key.
2)  When the MENU comes up, press the "F10" key.
3)  Navigate the BIOS to "System Configuration", "USB 3.0 Config in Pre-OS" and set to "Auto".
4)  Navigate the BIOS to  "System Configuration", "Boot Options" and set "Secure Boot" to "Disabled" and set "Legacy Support" to "Enabled".
5)  Press "F10" and click "YES" to "Exit Saving Changes"
6)  Computer should restart and display "Operating System Boot Mode Change"... type the four digit code and press "ENTER".
7)  Let Windows 8 boot-up and place the Windows 7 SP1 media in the DVD drive or USB port, then log-off / shutdown.
8)  Turn on the computer and immediately start tapping the "ESC" key.
9)  When the MENU comes up, press the "F9" key and then select the correct UEFI boot source (Internal CD/DVD drive, USB CD/DVD drive, USB Flash drive, etc.)... Press any key to boot CD/DVD, if prompted.
10)  Select "Language", "Time / Currency", and "Keyboard" settings and then click "Next"
11)  Click "Install Now"... check "Accept Terms" and click "Next". Click "Custom (Advanced)".
12)  You may need to supply AMD SATA/RAID drivers at this time... Download AMD Chipset Drivers (Chipset / AHCI / USB 3.0)
13)  Follow all prompts and answer all questions as needed. Enter a valid Windows 7 key when requested.
14)  Please install the AMD Chipset Drivers and the Windows 7 64-bit drivers from the HP Pavilion g7z-2100 CTO Notebook PC Drivers page. Post the Windows Device Manager's "Hardware Ids" (just the text) for all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below;
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

  • No sound after installing windows 7 on HP Pavilion dv1710us Notebook PC

I recently helped my uncle install windows 7 on his HP Pavilion dv1710us Notebook PC
and there was no sound after installation.. i downloaded several drivers for the realtek high definition audio driver (R2.39, 38, 37, etc)
then i tried the original driver from the HP drivers page and installed it.
usually when there is no sound, there would be a red X on the volume icon, but when i installed the original driver from the HP drivers page, there was no more red X.. Thinking that the sound was fixed, I tried to go on youtube and watch a video... i see the green bar moving up and down on the volume slide, but then i can't hear anything.
So is there any realtek high definition audio driver compatible for windows 7 on the HP pavilion dv1710us?
Is there something I have to do, like right click on the application and then change compatibility settings?
    thanks in advance.

I got it to work with windows 7 32 bit. I just went to hp website to support and downloads section. Type in your model number, then select windows xp as the operating system. Then download the audio driver and save it to your desktop. After the file is on your desktop you need to right click on it and click properties, then go to compatability tab and tell it to install as windows xp service pack 3. Hit apply then install. Hope it works for ya, worked for me.

  • Installed Windows 7 on HP Pavilion 23 AIO - Wireless not working

Hi, I installed windows 7 to replace the pre-installed windows 8 on my hp pavilion 23 aio PC and the network drivers came off. I managed to get the lan to work by getting Realtek RTL811F drivers downloaded and installed from usb, but the wireless is not coming back
Does anyone know how i can get it to work?
In control panel there are several troubled devices - network controller, pci device, pci simple communications controller, sm bus controller and unciversal bus controller

    Hi:
The motherboard drivers from this model should also work on yours.
DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE DOWNLOADS FROM THIS LINK
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5265...
The specific drivers you need are:
    SMBus:

    PCI:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=cp-106746-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=
Try this driver for the wireless card. (The specs page for your model doesn't show it comes with wireless networking).
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=cp-106131-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=
If that driver doesn't work, click on the network controller and post the hardware ID for it.
That will tell me what model wireless card it is, and I can post the link to the driver you need.
If you do not know where to find the hardware ID, please read the guide at the link below.

  • Sata or hard disk drivers to install windows 7 in Hp Pavilion 15-b101sd

I didn't see the steps I had to do to install windows 7 in the computer, so I formated the hard disk and I cleaned it.
But when I try to install windows 7, the installation program ask me about the driver of the hard disk which I haven't. I've tried to find it, but anyone of the drivers I found it doesn't work and I can't pass the page of the driver of hard disk installation.
Do you have that driver? or what is the solution to install the win7?
    Thank you so much!

    Hi:
If you are installing W7 from a USB flash drive, make sure you have the flash drive plugged into the USB 2 port (on left side) your notebook has.
These should be the sata drivers you probably need to install if Windows still asks for disk drivers...
I have zipped them up and attached them under Attachments below.

  • Installing Windows XP on HP Pavilion Notebook with Free-DOS

Today I spent 7h in unsuccessful attempts to install WinXP on my new HP Pavilion notebook. The problem comes from the fact that there are no SATA drivers installed for the HDD and everytime I try to boot>install Win>... it fails. WinXP gives me 0x0000007b error. If anybody could help me I'd be really grateful. I tried Win7 as well, but it fails also. A friend of mine who is rather "into" the whole Software/Hardware business suggested that I try to make a new WinXP 7 with the program nlite and try to add the necessary drivers to it. The problem is I simply can't find which drivers I need. Anyways. I'm open to any suggestions. Thank you all in advance!
P.S.When I enter BIOS I can't change anything as the BIOS doesn't show any HDD device, no SATA, nothing.

    Hi:
There are thousands of models of HP notebooks all with different hardware.
If your model is a new model with an amd processor you can forget it.
If your model is a new model with an intel 4th generation core processor or pentium n or j processor you can forget it.
The only way you will get XP to install on a new notebook is if it has an Intel 3rd generation or older core processor or an Intel series 7 or older chipset.

    Hi:
Most HP consumer notebooks such as your model, do not have the option to change the drive controller setting.
You will need to load the SATA AHCI drivers at the F6 prompt by using a USB floppy drive or you can slipstream the drivers by reading the info at the link below.

  • Installed windows 10 on my pavilion laptop and after startup the screen starts flashing

Laptop was working perfectly fine until I downloaded WINDOWS10. Now it will startup to the home screen, but as soon as I touch a button, it starts flashing on and off until I crash it off with the power button. Same thing happens every time! Is it the new os or do I have a driver problem or a screen problem? It does not flashnwhen I start it in diagnostic mode.

"... I already deleted the software off the laptop, but that hasn't seem to fix the issue."
I doubt that the software was the issue. So why not tell us what model MBP you have and how much free space is on the hard drive. When was the last time you booted to the OS installer disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Utility? BTW, you may not need their software to download pictures to your Mac. Launch iPhoto and from the menu: iPhoto>Preferences>General: Connecting Camera Opens.....

    @Dominator112 ,
Hello adn thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  All you need to do is to go to the HP support page for your notebook and download the software.
If you system came with the operating system you have just installed then you will find the software you need.
If you have installed an operating system that did not come with that model you will not have the option to install that software.
The software and drivers are licensed to the notebook and the operating system that was sent with it.
If you have installed a full retail version of the operating system you have purchased from another vendor it may work as long as this system was distributed with the same operating system.
Here is the link to your notebooks support page where you will find all the software and drivers that have been released for your notebook. I hope you find what you need.

  • Blue Screen of Death After Trying To Install Windows On Pavilion ze4900?

After my hard drive died in my Pavilion ze4900, I replaced it with another notebook hard drive I had laying around.I also tried installing Windows XP home from a Windows installation CD, the same OS the laptop had before the hard drive died. All went well until the laptop was done loading all the installation files, instead of giving me the option to either install Windows or repair Windows, the laptop ends up showing me a blue screen with the message: " A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer." What can I do to resolve this issue? I have installed Windows XP on another computer using the same CD, so the CD hasn't gone corrupt and the replacement hard drive is barely used. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

, Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums.  The first thing you will want to check is if there are any issues with the hard drive you put in.  Run the BIOS diagnostics for the hard drive and the hard ware to make sure there are no issues. HP Notebook PCs - System Diagnostics (F2) And. HP Notebook PCs - Testing a Hard Disk from the BIOS Please let me know how things go. Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

    Hi everybody,
I just bought my new HP Pavilion - 17-f240nf Notebook laptop, that comes with Windows 8.1. When I tried to install Windows 7 or Windows server 2008 R2, i received the following message :  "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing ..."
I tried many solutions gave on internet, but i didn't find a solution to my problem.
    Please I need your help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Please read through this MS KB article regarding this issue.
This issue occurs for one of the following reasons:
The installation DVD is removed during the setup process.
A low-quality DVD was used to create the installation DVD.
The speed at which the installation DVD was burned was too fast.
The DVD drive cannot read the media.
    The ISO file is corrupted.
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation:
Burn the installation DVD at a slower speed.
Use a better quality DVD to create the installation DVD.
Update the BIOS firmware for your DVD drive.
Use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool to create a bootable USB flash drive, and then use the USB flash drive to install Windows.
To troubleshoot this issue, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation:
Run the DVD on a different computer to determine whether the DVD works correctly.
Test your DVD drive by using an official Windows installation DVD.
Attach the ISO file to a virtual machine to check whether it is corrupted.

  • Re-installing windows 7 hp-pavilion dm1-3200sd

    Hi all!
For over a year I've been very happy with the performance of my hp-pavilion dm1-3200sd, but I'd like to make an upgrade to an SSD, because my netbook will then get more snappier!
I actually have one question: how do i re-install Windows 7 correctly on my SSD? The SSD I'm looking to buy is the Samsung 830 Series laptop upgrade kit, with usb-sata cable. I've already seen a partition D named "recovery", but when I will put in my SSD, the partition will be gone (since partition D: is on the original HDD).
So (I think) that I have two choices right now:
    - Copy the recovery partition to an USB flash-drive, install the SSD and then boot from USB and install Windows 7 to the SSD.
    - Connect the SSD via USB to my laptop, then copy the recovery partition to my SSD. After that I install the SSD in my netbook, and then install Windows 7 to the SSD.
Is there a much better option out of the two stated above? Will these option bot work? And last but not least: after installing Windows 7, does it activate automatically?
I'd like to do install a fresh Windows 7, so there is no need to back up any programs, settings or documents.
    Thanks in advance!

  • HP Pavilion DV6 3122TX recovery partition deleted, need to install windows

    Hi,
I have a Pavilion DV6 3122TX notebook. The system would hang profusely when ever I was accessing any file, no it was not a virus or anything, I found out it was the HD due to error screen at startup "Hard Disk Error, Hard Disk 1(3F1)", I ran all self checks and diagnostics but nothing improved. So I formatted the drive completely deleted all partitions even the internal recoveries and others (my bad).
My recovery disc cannot be read by the laptop, the DVDRom LED blinks for a few seconds then nothing happens, "It says invalid system disk. Replace the disk, and then pres any key blah blah blah ..." The disc is fine I have checked. I changed the boot options to boot from internal CD/DVD.
I need a working windows as a temporary solution as quickly as possible. I cannot install Windows 7  apparently this is due to some lock (turns out it was unable to detect the HDD). Windows XP cannot see the drive due to AHCI driver requirement (can't switch back to IDE) due to BIOS lock. So I tried the AHCI driver slipstream method, now here's my problem I can't find the proper AHCI drivers for my laptop since I cannot login to Win to check with CPUz. Can someone direct me to the right text-mode drivers for this laptop to slipstream into winxp x86 using NliteOS. I'll take the laptop to be fixed to a service centre next month but now I need a solution. Even if you can fix my recovery solution it would be great.
I can access the hard drive using Linux. So the HDD is ok, please do not refer me to change the HDD that is not an option right now. (HDD was the problem)
Sorry for such a long post
    Thanks in advance..
