Installing windows 7 on mac pro retina, can not find cd/dvd driver

Hi there, I have bought mac pro retina. Trying to install windows 7, running boot camp. I have downloaded windows support pac on the same usb flush. When running instalation, the system is looking for cd/dvd driver. Even though I browse to the usb flush. It can not find the driver. Than I can not go futher. Anny ideas?Thank you so much

Could be you khave a corrupted Win 7 install file/files.
Try downloading the Win 7 ISO for the version you have from here.

Then burn that ISO to a USB or DVD, USB would be better.

I have downloaded a Win 8 ISO, used Boot Camp to "burn" the ISO image to flash. Then I used Boot Camp and downloaded related drivers etc. to the flash. Then when I chosed to install Windows using Boot Camp, I received "Insert disk to be recognized" etc - meaning it does not see Win 8 that it just "burned" to the flash. Being a tech guy, I decided to go other way - found Disk Utility and shrinked the Mac partition freeing some space for Windows partition manually. Then I decided to actually install Windows - I restarted, hold Control and finally successfully got to the Win8 installation shell. So far it worked. But then I stopped - right before clicking Format on the new partition I created. I realized that when I did that before on PCs the new Windows updates the MBR that it becomes the only bootable OS. Naturally I don't want that, I want both OS X and Win 8. So I cancelled the install and here I am
So my question is - if I bypass Boot Camp and install Win8 manually to the partition I created via Disk Utility, would I still be able to dual boot?

You should be able to hold down the option key on a restart and select what you want to boot from.
If you want to go the virtual route, you can have both running at the same time.

Hello, I am having problems migrating data from my old PC running XP (SP3) to my new Mac Pro 2012 using the Migration Assistant.
- I downloaded and installed the Windows Migration Assistant from Apple
- My Mac recognized PC and displays passcode
- The sasscode does not show / display on my PC
- My Mac is then stuck in "authenticating" loop and the PC is stuck "waiting for Mac to connect."
- Both computers are connected on same network (have connected PC on WIFI and using ethernet to Reuter)
I have looked on support site and only response I saw says to reinstall Windows Migration Assistant (which I have done)
Any ideas? If cant get this to workare there instructions for manually bring across relevant data eg itunes music and apps, photos, picasa data etc?

Why not turn off the Windows firewall and uninstall any other firewall software you have installed?
If you are using a Norton product uninstall it and discard it. To fully unistall most Norton products you have to go to the Norton website and download a soecial program to completely get rid of it. The normal uninstall feature built into the program will not remove all of it.

iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
Authorizing a computer does not cause media to magically appear.
Media is only where the user puts it.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.

I tried to find this answer online but failed.

Appears the Mac Pro (Early 2008) is the last model to suggest Ultra ATA/100 optical.
And with an optional card, use Serial Attached SCSI via Mac Pro Raid.
This kind of information gets sketchy in that the hard drive bus and other parts are SATA
and only this (and earlier) model Mac Pro has optical drive interface w/ Ultra ATA/100. The
logic board on the early 2008 appears to have two Serial ATA ports, 3.0GBPS; so to check
these, you may need to look into specification in iFixit.com repair guides, any takeapart
guides, and note specifications in everymac.com and those from mactracker.ca.
The MacPro after Early 2008 model build series (Early 2009) appears to sport an optical
drive with 18x speed, compared to Early 2008 & before, whose drives indicate 16x spec.
Other changes may be indicated by certain parts and differences; processors, graphic
support, and those kinds of things. 2008 shows dual-core, afterward, quad-core.
So on what little I found, that would appear to be the divide or when optical drive spec
on the logic board changed from Ultra ATA/100 to SATA versions. But double check.

Hi,Officially the printer no longer supported on OS X 10.6 or above, therefore the reduced quality due the Generic driver usage:

However, you may try the 3rd party HPIJS print drivers which list your printer as supported and will more likely provide you a better qualiity then a Generic driver.

Open Finder Preferences, click on Sidebar and see if CDs & DVDs is selected under devices.

It is difficult to understand your issue from your discription. I have three suggestions.
1. Visit the Boot Camp forum. You posted in the Mac Book Pro forum about your Boot Camp issue. The Boot Camp gurus hang out in the Boot Camp form. https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

I just installed mountain lion on my early 2011 mac pro i can not get my apple tv 2 to be detected for airplay

Pretty much the title can not detect my apple tv2 through my early 2001 macbook pro that i just installed mountain lion. Im even have a apple time capsule thats both connected to these two device. My Itunes detects the apple tv and even tested itunes playing the internet radio through the apple tv but not able to mirror my macbook pro is the problem.

You may have to install the Vista audio driver for your notebook from your notebook's support and driver page. That is normally the solution.
Without the model number and version of Windows 7 you are running (32 or 64 bit), I can't help more than that.
