Installing windows 7 on new partition

How do I create a fresh partition with windows 7 on it so I can have one for interent, and another without any connection? Or do I have to purchase a new copy of windows 7?

Hello
The drivers can be downloaded on official Toshiba website as Mike30 wrote. All drivers that you need are placed on this page.
Not all Toshiba tools (not drivers!!!) are free for download. That means such stuff as Toshiba CD Bruner cant be downloaded they are only preinstalled on your notebook. But normally you dont need this stuff, there are other freeware tools on the web like CD Burner XP, VLC media player, etc.

If you have a valid OSX install, the drive should appear. Choose the OSX partition and continue.

  • How to install Windows 7 on new hard drive?

I have changed the old hard drive (500 gb) with a new hard dirve (1 Tera), and now I have two problems: -
    1. How do I install Windows 7 on new hard drive?
    2. My laptop was pre-installed Windows 7 Pro, but all the DVD kit (Application & Drives Recivery Disc + Operating System Revocer), which was provided (by Lenovo) for the laptop is in the Windows 8 Pro. So how do I install Windows 7 Pro, in my laptop while all DVD kits are in Windows 8 Pro?
by the way this is my laptop spec (for reference) ; -
    * Note *
I plan to install Windows 7 Pro in my new hard drive using another Windows 7 DVD (Not DVD provided by Lenovo), but how do I get all the Leveno program which found within the 'Application & Drives Recivery' disc (such as ; - Lenovo System Health and Diagnostics, Lenovo Power Control,Lenovo's Fingerprint Reader) to install in that hard drive? (as I tell you before, all the DVD kit is in or only for Windows 8 Pro)
I hope somebody will help me answer my question,
    Thank You
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I got the solution;
Answer to question 1 ; using a backup & recovery software to clone my current OS, then transfer to my new hard drive.
Answer to question 2 ; download all the Drivers and software ( all the application that located on the DVD kit that I have) on Lenovo Official Website.
or other solution, send it to a computer service shop and let the experts ( the workers) install it for me ( the most simple and safe way).

  • Unable to install Windows 7 x64 on Partitioned 3TB

Since my exhaustive search of these forums and Google provided no substantive hits, I decided to do it myself and install Windows 7 x64 on partition 3 (500GB) of a Western Digital 3TB drive via Boot Camp.
I can say after two days of trying that it is not possible as the Windows 7 installer will not allow it to continue on said partition due to it being on a GPT drive, even after using the installer to both reformat the target partition as NTFS as well as deleting and reformatting same partition. I even tried rebooting after deleting to see if the installer will proceed (I read this possible solution from a Vista x64 installation issue); the installer has steadfastly refused to install. The same installation DVD works just fine on 2TB drives that have been partitioned via Boot Camp.
Not sure what else to try, though I did read somewhere about possibly using GPARTED to format the target partition, but I think the true underlying issue may be "standard" EFI versus Apple's EFI implementation which is preventing Windows 7 x64 from installing.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this matter, or is this a dead-end until Apple or Microsoft changes something?

    I have a PowerMac dual 2.3 G5, a Mac Pro dual 2.66 Duo (2006), and Mac Pro dual 2.8 Quad (2008) and a MacBook Pro 2.26 Duo (2009 Unibody).
I was attempting the install on my home 2008 MP. The 2006 is at a work site so cannot be considered in my project.
    I HAD 1 2TB drive in bay 1 that had 10.6.7 and Win7 x64, 2 3TB in bay 2/3 (bay 2 had 10.6.7 backup OS while bay 3 was purely a data drive) and 1 1TB WinXP x86 in bay 4.
So I just replaced the 2TB with a third 3TB and needed to keep Win7. Now I'm faced with either SHRINKING WinXP in bay 4 in order to partition it into two with Win7 on the other partition, or wiping out 10.6.7 partition the just-replaced 2TB and cloning my WinXP drive onto that.
I only need probably at most 500GB for both WinXP and Win7, primarily for development purposes as well as PC-only gaming; I don't need a 2TB drive for them and I'd rather retask the 2TB drive into my unRAID media server.
Which means I don't want a 3TB Windows only solution.

  • I need help on my MacBook Pro. Recently I've deleted another partition of my disk from the disk utility and I found out that my disk capacity wasn't get into the normal one which is 750GB. Meanwhile I installed window 7 into the partition disk.

I need help on restoring my disk capacity back to normal. I installed window 7 into the partition disk through bootcamp and I deleted it from disk utility. After I erase the partition disk,I get my capacity to 499GB but not 750GB. Do I need to reinstall my MacBook or something to do with the restoring?

You shouldn't do it. You have to erase the Windows volume with Boot Camp Assistant, so it will restore the space onto the OS X volume and that volume will have 750 GB.
As you did it with Disk Utility, you have to resize your OS X partition manually:
    1. Open Disk Utility, select your hard disk at the top of the sidebar, and go to Partition tab.
    2. You will see a bar with Macintosh HD. You have to click it at the bottom right corner and drag it to the end of the bar, so Macintosh HD will use all the space of the hard drive, and press Apply.
    3. Close Disk Utility and your OS X partition will have 750 GB

  • I want to install my original SnowLeopard (from the installation disc) to a partition I created in the now upgraded Mavericks OSX, How can I install it on the new partition?

I want to install my original SnowLeopard (from the installation disc) to a partition I created in the now upgraded Mavericks OSX, How can I install it on the new partition?

    That's easy.
    2 methods:
    1. Change the Startup Disk in System Preferences, then restart:
    2. Hold down the "Option" key while starting or restarting the Mac. Then chosse the partition that you want to startup from.
The 1st mehtod is the quickest, because you don't have the additional step of choosing the drive. Plus, whatever you have selected in System Preferences becomes the default startup drive.

  • Installing 10.6 on new partition

I'm trying to install OS 10.6 on a new partition on my MacBook. I am currently running 10.7.2 and when I load my 10.6 Install DVD for my new partition and try to run it, It gives me an error. I assumed when I ran the DVD it would ask me which partition I would want to install the OS on, but I don't even get that far. Any help?

My mac originally came with 10.6, but a few months later 10.7  came out so I upgraded right away.  I didn't want 10.6 on a separate partition, but I wanted to load it on an external HDD to boot up from.  I figured out that you insert your 10.6 disc while your mac it off, turn it on, and immediately hold the option key and keep holding it until it boots into recovery mode and you click on the CD image.  It will then ask you where you want to install it.  I'm not sure if this will work to put it on the internal HDD partitioned.  I think it should.  Just make sure to back up your data anyway.

I have an iMac with os x lion, I installed windows 7 in the partition vut I cant use internet there. In device manager the ethernet controller appears in yellow, what I have to do? A specifically process or download a driver, wich driver?

Hi! You may reinstall the driver manually:
by  Boot Camp - Installation & Setup Guide (OS X Lion) :
    To reinstall a specific driver:
If you need to reinstall specific drivers, you can install one driver at a time. For example, if your Mac’s built-in camera isn’t working, you can reinstall just the camera’s driver.
Individual drivers are in the Drivers folder on the CD, DVD, or external disk with the Windows support software.
1  Insert the CD or DVD or connect the external disk with the Windows support software.
2  Quit AutoRun if it opens.
3  Using Windows Explorer, locate the driver that you want to reinstall.
4  Open the driver to start the installation.
Your drive (Network's drive) is in this location:
WindowsSupoport -> Drivers -> Broadcon -> BroadconNetworkAdapterWin7_32 (depends of version of your windows!)
In my case i need to install manually the drives for Net and sound!
    Sorry my english, i'm brazilian!
    I hope I´ve helped!
You have not, the OP has Lion so no disk, and you can't re-install until after you install, which hasn't happened yet.
To the OP, use BCA to download the Windows Support Software, follow the instructions to install it in Windows.

Trying to install Windows 7 on new iMac (OS X Mavericks). Have Windows 7 DVD. Have superdrive. Have USB flash drive. What is, and where do I find the "Windows ISO image" that Bootcamp is asking for? ("select the Windows ISO image"...)

You can use the installation dvd from microsoft or you can download the iso file from microsoft and use that method instead.

Want to install windows 7 64bit only partitioned for 20mb in bootcamp can i increase bootcamp partition before installing?

Yeah, just open Boot Camp Assistant, restore the hard drive to a single partition and then redo the partitions again. You should have a bare minimum of about 50GB as @The hatter said. You might want to just divide equally, that's usually the easiest thing to do.

  • Install Windows 7 on new MBPr from FAT32 formatted USB drive

My colleague gave me a USB drive with legit Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64bit as ISO file on it (plus a folder containing Windows software to be installed afterwards.
I have partitioned the MBPr's SSD 50/50 with disk utility: one OSX partition, one MS-DOS FAT32.
When I reboot and select the USB drive to install, I get a black screen with a message on top "booting from Boot Camp Assistant created USB drive ... Failed to load BOOTMGR".
This happens trying both left and right USB ports.
Reason why I partitioned 50/50 "manually" with disk utility was that Boot Camp-Assistant did not give me an option to install from the USB after it downloaded drivers to that USB (these drivers ended up in a folder called WindowsSupport). It always asked me to insert a DVD which of course can't work on the MBPr.
    Any hints much appreciated!

You must use Bootcamp Assistant to install Windows in a Bootcamp partition. Return your hard drive to a single OSx partition then start again following the Bootcamp Installation and Help guides.

  • Black screen when installing Windows XP on new Boot Camp partition

I just upgraded my iMac Intel Alum to Leopard and used Boot Camp to create the Windows partition. When I try to install Windows XP from the install disk, I just get a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner. Is it having trouble finding the Boot Camp partition for the Windows install? Everything else is working fine. Leopard still boots okay and everything works in Mac OS - I just can't get to the next step of installing Windows.
    Thanks in advance,
    David

When I say disk image, I mean a copy of a friend's Windows XP install disk . Even though it's a copy, it boots a PC fine. Any reason why it wouldn't work on the Mac?

  • Anyone manage to install Windows 8 on new Macbook air?

    Hello,
Got a new "June 2013" MacbookAir 13" 8GB 256SSD and I've been trying for days to install Windows 8 PRO 64-bit using Bootcamp. No joy. Tried both a USB key and an external DVD drive. Same problem all the time: in the Windows 8 setup, I selec the country and language, press Next and it tells me that a "DVD media driver" is missing. I browse to the WINSTALL and BOOTCAMP directories on the USB key which Bootcamp created, it doesn't find any drivers.
If I use Windows 7 32-bit, it gets to the country/keyboard selection and then freezes.
Is it just that Bootcamp doesn't support Haswell yet? That's a pity cos it means I need to keep two laptops.
    Thanks for any advice,
    - Alan.

    Got it to work finally.
Used BootCamp Assistant to download the Windows drivers to a USB key and create a BootCamp partition. Don't use it to create a USB boot disk.
That's my biggest tip - use a DVD not a USB boot disk.
Also, if you get a "media driver missing" error, then get a different ISO image and burn it to DVD. Don't use IMG files converted to ISO files.
When Windows setup boots, you'll probably need to click on the advanced drive options and re-format the BOOTCAMP partition. Otherwise Windows will say that it can't install on it. Be careful that you select that one.
During the setup, Windows will reboot. Remember to hold down the Alt key when you hear the dong and select the Windows DVD (first time) and the Windows drive (second time).
After Windows installs, install the BootCamp drivers in WININSTALL\BootCamp on the USB key by running setup.
Takes maybe 15 mins to install Windows 8.

  • Can't install windows 8 on new macbook pro retina display.

I spent my afternoon trying to install Windows 8 Pro on my new Macbook Pro with retina display. I get fairly deep into the installation process using bootcamp when I get a windows message that says something to the effect that windows can't be installed because the hard drive is not formatted in NTSF format. And that is the end of the line.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It's normal. Boot Camp Assistant formats the Boot Camp volume in FAT32 because in the past it supported Windows XP and it could use FAT32. This changed with Windows Vista.
The only thing you have to do is to choose the BOOTCAMP partition in this step, and select "Drive options (advanced)". Then, press "Format" and it will be formatted into NTFS, so press Next and the installation will start.
