Installing WL5.1 on a Intel P4

I've tried everything I could think of the get version 5.1 of Weblogic
to go on a P4. At the end of the installation, it gives me the following
error:
It’s a Dr. Watson error message...”An application error has occurred
and an application error log is being generated.
WLPASS~1.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address:0x500bf974
I get this error message when the installion is up to 100% so when I
click on Ok it just stops the installation.
When I try to start the Weblogic server it gives me the same error
message I get while installing it but instead of WLPASS~1.exe it gives
me the file WLSERVER.EXE....
I can get the version 6.0 to work fine. I've tried installing
version 5.1 on a Windows Nt 4.0 SP6 and a Windows 2000 Pro.
Any help would be really appreciated...
Thanks,
Anick

Hi,
I guess this was the problem. I downloaded the latest version
(SP10) and it seems to be working now.
Thanks,
Anick

you're in the wrong forum, but I'll try to guide you.
(a better forum for your question would likely be this:

Your RALink wireless adaptor is not manufactured by Intel, that's why Intel driver download won't help you.
You need to go here (RALink is now Mediatek) to get the drivers for your adaptor

Yepp, we tried that as a test setup. Works, but I think we did not have

  • Installing Photoshop 5 on Intel iMac?

I want to use my Photoshop program on my new Intel iMac. My full program is PS5, which had to be installed before I can upgrade to PS7. Has anyone found a work-around the problem of installing this older version of Photoshop on the new OSX? I don't want to pay $600+ all over again for new software if I can help it.
    KCChoirgirl

I am reasonably sure that version of PS is an OS 9
only application. You cannot install it on an Intel
Mac. If your PS7 is an OS 9 version, you couldn't
    update to it anyway.
Adobe has upgrade prices for their software. You may
be able to upgrade to an OS X version for less than
    $600.00.
    Why reward points?(Quoted from
    Discussions Terms of Use.)
he reward system helps to increase community
participation. When a community member gives you (or
another member) a reward for providing helpful advice
or a solution to their question, your accumulated
points will increase your status level within the
    community.
Members may reward you with 5 points if they deem
that your reply is helpful and 10 points if you post
a solution to their issue. Likewise, when you mark a
reply as Helpful or Solved in your own created topic,
you will be awarding the respondent with the same
    point values.
Thank you for taking time to answer my question. Unfortunately, it is the answer I feared I would get. But the good news is that Adobe HAS an upgrade solution. I have paid for the full version twice as I have two PS5s. (We own a photography studio in case that sounds weird!)

  • Consequences of installing G5 Leopard on  Intel Mac?

I bought an Intel iMac off of eBay, and it came shipped with OS X 10.4. I had a non-retail replacement DVD of 10.5 from when I had an AppleCare problem with my iMac G5, so I tried to use that disc to upgrade my OS. It never worked correctly, and on the Apple forums I was told that the replacement DVD would be hardware-specific and not function.
However, a new phenomenon has occurred.. If I completely install Tiger with the hardware-specific discs that came with my intel Mac, and then simply upgrade to Leopard- the install succeeds and the computer is ESSENTIALLY functional.
It's not perfect though. What I've observed is that (today was the 2nd time this has happened) after a couple days of untinterrupted use (including powering down/up) and having a seemingly functional iMac-- everything goes very wrong. The computer slows down to a crawl, so I leave it alone; then when the beachball goes away, I try to click something. No matter what App I choose, it will freeze up once it begins, and everything I click suddenly stops working.
So do you think this is a consequence of installing a leopard disc with G5 architecture, or that these symptoms are indicative of something wrong with the iMac itself (possibly bad RAM?). What seems strange is the install does succeed with the upgrade, and the computer works great for a good while- and then suddenly stops. One thing that always confuses/annoys me is when computers aren't consistent... I mean, theyre computers!
Please share your thoughts, thank you!

In short: A PPC Mac cannot boot an Intel version of OS X and vice-versa. You will need a full retail version of Leopard that can install either the PPC or the Intel version of OS X. Or as you have discovered your Upgrade disc will install an Intel upgrade to an Intel version of Tiger or a PPC upgrade to a PPC version of Tiger, but it will not performa a full Erase and Install.
As for migrating from a G5 to an Intel Mac see the following:
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior 4.1, TechTool Pro 4.6.1, SuperDuper 2.5, and Drive Genius 2.0.2 work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries. Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking
will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs. The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode. It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data. This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Target Disk Mode.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

  • Installing Arch on a Intel P55 raid

Hello, i would like to install Arch on a stripped raid made with the Intel P55 chipset, while it works without problems on Windows, it seems i'll have to do some work to make it work on Arch.
I didn't found anything about installing the system on intel's raid in the begginer's guide, and from what i've found, i will need dmraid to install ArchLinux on the raid but it seems dmraid isn't  included in Arch's linux iso
"Warning: Command "dmraid -ay" could fail after boot to Arch linux Release: 2011.08.19 as image file with initial ramdisk environment does not support dmraid. You could use an older Release: 2010.05. Note that you must correct your kernel name and initrd name in grubs menu.lst after installing as these releases use different naming"
    from the wiki
Means i have to use an "outdated" Archlinux to install it on a raid, and upgrade afterward if i'm correct. Isn't there a way for me to create an iso that include rmdisk ?
Can i, from way or an other, use the latest ArchLinux iso, and put the rmdisk in a usbkey, and use it from there for ArchLinux install ?
Is the intel P55 chipset supported at all ?
Note that this raid doesn't contain Windows system, only data, and can be formated entierly if required without problems.
    Thanks for your time.
    Best regards, Magissia

    Create an ISO:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Archiso (you can add the packages you need, such as "rmdisk", build the archiso, and boot it)
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Archboot i think this one is similar (I did not try yet)
    Install on USB:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Usb_install
An arch-installation can be done with all 3 ways I mentioned. (you can even grab an existing arch, copy the files over, chroot, configure, and boot)
    Good luck.

  • 10.6 will not install on my 20" intel imac circa 2007....HELP

I have a 20" intel imac that I purchased new in to 2007. It has the 2.1x (can't remember and I'm at work, sorry..) intel core 2 duo processor and 2G of memory. I have tried 2 separate 10.6 disks (one 10.6 and one 10.6.3) to upgrade my imac from 10.5.8 to 10.6 in order to use my new magic trackpad and both disks say "OSX cannt be installed on this computer". Please help. I have browsed on the forums around the net and have tried to find what the problem is, I have tried running the install and booting the computer from the disks and neither worked. I am not very proficient with programming or the behind the scenes of my mac, but I think I have managed to reset the PRAM , which was a suggestion on a forum, but still no luck. Can someone help me out. It would be greatly appreciated!

  • What is the lastest version of iphoto that can be installed on MacBook3,1  Intel Core 2 Duo

    I have Iphoto '08 version 7.1.5 installed.
I am trying to make an ibook (to be printed)
I've done it before and since changing my harddrive, I cannot access any projects.
the error message is that there are no themes installed.
I cannot seem to find where themes are to download and install them.
I have upgraded, and installed the 7.1.5 update.
    my computer info:

any help as to how I can print another book from iphoto would be helpful.
I understand I may have to use another on demand printing service such as blurb, but I really don't want to.
    thanks.

Do you want to have the book printed by Apple? That is no longer possible using iPhoto '08. YOu need at least iPhoto '09,  see:  Product Line Details for Books, Cards, and Calendars
    I cannot access any projects.
the error message is that there are no themes installed.
    See Old Toad's answer here:

Themes are best restored by reinstalling iPhoto.
Or, if you have a backup of your system, look in your backup for the folder
    Your HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto
and restore the themes to the corresponding folder.

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS2 on Intel Mac 10.4.6 or 10.4.7

    Hey,
I have just tried to install Photoshop CS2 on an Itel MacBook Pro but it gets stuck while installing "Shared Packages" of "Adobe Help Center".
    Any idea out there?
    Thanks

Please don't say that CS2 doesn't work under Rosetta, when it does. There are performance issues, and for those who use CS2 for large, system intensive purposes have good reason to not want to upgrade to Intel, but that doesn't mean CS2 won't work.
I haven't experienced the install problem personally, but googling "cs2""intel""mac" yields this article:
    http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20060524084530919
To summarize, it may be an issue with either Quicktime 7.1 or Adobe Version Cue.
    Good luck.

  • Installing CS2 Upgrade on Intel Mac

I am just about to take the plunge and get an Intel Mac. I'm using CS2 legacy files for a number of customers. I have CS3 full product but the CS2 is an upgrade. In the past I have upgraded from Illustrator 9 (Full Product) but obviously this is not going to install on an Intel Mac.
Is there anyway of using the AI9 serial as part of a CS2 installation? If I need to keep my old Mac for CS2 then it restricts amount of cash I have for an Intel Mac.
    Thanks

Just install. During the processes the installer will search for a previous version. Tell it to stop. It will then give you 3 choices...
    1) Use the following serial number___________ (This is where you put in the AI9 #)
    2) Use this version [click to browse]
    3) Search for a previous version.

You will have to first upgrade from Logic 6 to Logic 7, and THEN update to 7.2
