Installing workflow mailer / notification mailer on Linux

Hi,
I want to install the notification mailer on a Linux machine (Oracle 9i Client already installed), but I can't find it in the Universal Installer (Oracel 9.2.0 Server Cds)!
Where can I find the Oracle Workflow Mailer?
Documentation says:
Within the Oracle Universal Installer, select the product Oracle9i Client. Then select the Custom
installation type and choose the Oracle Workflow client components that you want to install.
Some useful information:
- I've got the Linux 9.2.0 Server Cds.
- The database (with Oracle Workflow already installed) resides on another (Windows-) machine.
- I like to use sendmail for the notification emails.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, but I don't want to install the Workflow Server! Because it's a client machine and I don't want to install a database server just to get the workflow mailer.
Documentation says:
Workflow customers running on NT/2000 are certified to
install the UNIX version of the Oracle Workflow
Notification Mailer (on UNIX) and connect to a Workflow
Server database running on NT/2000.That is exactly what I want to do, but I can't find the Workflow Notification Mailer in the Universal Installer.

Oracle Applications Manager -- Workflow Manager -- Notification Mailer

Hi All,
We are facing an issue in the R12 E- Business Suite Po Approval Workflow cycle. The PO is being approved and
the buyer while approving the PO is mentioning the email address where the Po Approval Notification needs to be emailed.
The Po gets approved and in thw wf_notifications table we could see two records entered with the Message Type as mentioned below :
Message Type : PO_PO_HAS_BEEN_APPROVE , status : OPEN and mail_status : SENT , Recipient Role : DCASTAGNA
-- This is fine because the user DCASTAGNA , is receiving the email at the email address which is linked to the
fnd_user record in Oracle. This is an FYI notification which just says The PO has been approved
Message Type : PO_EMAIL_PO , status : OPEN and mail_status : FAILED, Recipient Role : [email protected] -- Why this status is showing as Failed.. The user is not receiving this email notification.
The issue is that the user whose email address has been keyed is not receiving the email notification.
We have the Workflow Notification Mailer configured which would listen to the Send Notification Message posted by the Workflow Engine.
Could someone please help with this issue after we have upgraded to R12. The user is receiving 1 email notifiaction but not receiving the email for the 2nd Message present in the wf_notifications table.
We are stuck because of this issue.

Any errors in the workflow mailer log file?
Any errors in the database log file?
Did you try to bounce the workflow services?

one more thing, how will mail work, will it use sendmail feature of Hp UX or some other oracle package

Workflow mailer notification

Dear all ;
I want the system send emails to users when they have notifications. i configured the workflow mailer good and the test send the mail well . but now i want to know if i have an example like in the PO when the user make a requisition and send it to the approver , i want an email sent to the approver that there is notification to approve the requisition and when he approve it i want an email sent to the requester that its approved now. i want to know how to do this and how the system gets the users email? can anybody help me? thanks

Is you workflow mailer up and running, As far as I know this is the default behavior of how the workflow mailer behaves when a purchase order is raised and approved by the apporver. Please re-check and let us know where the problem is actually visible.

Installing Workflow Notification with Gmail as email server...IMAP4

I'm trying to install notification for Workflow and instructions say to use an IMAP4 type of mail server connection, not just IMAP. This is all through the Oracle Application Manager web interface.
We use a special type of Gmail hosting for our company email and I've tried all kinds of combinations of server naming but the Workflow Notification service never succeeds in connecting and then the server never starts up.
Has anyone succeeded in using Gmail for an IMAP4 type incoming email system?
I do have an option to use MS Exchange and may try that if easier...any problems with setting up MS Exchange with Workflow Notification?

What is the error you are getting? Did you try to run "Workflow Java Mailer Setup Test" and see if it reports any errors?

I do have an option to use MS Exchange and may try that if easier...any problems with setting up MS Exchange with Workflow Notification?We have MS Exchange configured with no issues.

Issue in workflow mailer configuration

Hi all,
I have to configure notification mailer, for that I have an IP address of smtp server and an email username and password. Using these 3 details I can configure the mail in MS Outlook and send/recieve mails. When I give the same details in Notification mailer page, I am getting relaying denied error. Please help me in resolving this.
Our environment is R12.1.3 on AIX 6.1

Additional workflow Mailer setup on Purchase Order

Dear All,
We are running on R12 on 11.0.1.7 database. We have configured Workflow mailer notification and it seems to be running properly.. And the approver/approvee gets appropriate mails on appropriate time.
But our management requires additional customization on how this function should work, The requirement is as follows:
Problem Description: When a PO is raised it goes to his immediate superior who can approve the PO for less than Rs.100,000 and if it is above the stated amount, the respective PO requires further approval from the next superior in the hierarchy.
The workflow standard setup is such a way so that the user who has raised the PO gets a mail notification alerting that the PO has been approved if so.
Could you guide me a way in Oracle Ebiz R12 so that not only user who has raised the PO is alerted through mail if the PO is approved but also the immediate approver is also notified via mail for POs which is above Rs.100,000.
Note: PO above Rs.100,000 goes through immediate approver and then to the next approver in the hierarchy.

Could anyone teach me how to troubleshooting these errors in log of mailer?
My customer made mailer available through OAM and could send notification.
However, a lot of errors were found in log of mailer.

I have checked the below notes,but I'm not clear.

Workflow mail shows junk character in outlook where arabic

Hi all
We have EBS R12 12.0.4. I am facing the problem with workflow mails.
whenever the workflow mails comes in outlook it show junk characters instead of arabic letters.

I have done following steps but no changes have the same issue.
1. Navigate to OAM->Workflow Manager->Notification Mailer->View details in this page
2. Look for parameter called RESET_NLS change this value from 'YES' to 'NO'.
3. Bounce Notification Mailer.

i have to configure email notification for oracle application R12.1.2 , all the emails related to administration should go to one email id, this email id is of gmail. I am not able configure it.

Edit Workflow Mailer - Purchase Order Email Subject

Hi,
We have configured the workflow mailer to enable reminders to be sent out to approvers which relate to Purchase Order approvals that have not been responded to.
However, as well as a reminder email being sent, there is also an email telling the approver that the previous email has been canceled. This has a the email subject prefixed with "Canceled:"
Our problem is that users are seeing this and thinking that the Purchase Order has been cancelled. We therefore want to either edit the subject of this email, or stop it being sent.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I think this mail is sent by the workflow mailer using the item type System Mailer. This is auto generated notification when the notification itself is canceled or retired. You can customize the subject there based on the source.

Workflow mailer with IMAP

Hi Guru's,
I have inititally configured workflow mailer.
Now i need to add the imap feature. I have set up keystore for SSL certificate authentication and added it the applications by running @$FND_TOP/sql/afsvcpup.sql
When i send testmail from OAM, it reaches the user's inbox and i am able to send acknowledgement back from the user's inbox. I am also able to see the acknolwedgement mail in the inbox of the imap user's inbox.
But now how will it actually update the R12 applications from the imap inbox.
Shouldnt the the mails be arriving in PROCESS or DISCARD folders?
Will i get back a mail if the request has been processed or discarded?
