Installing XI 3.0 on existing J2EE

Hi
Are there any techical issues with istalling the XI 3.0 J2EE Only version on existing J2EE Middeware running, for example ICSS and IC Web Client.  It would appear to me that as long as the existing J2EE is at the same release level as the XI 3.0 J2EE, it should not be a problem.  Our XI 3.0 requiremets are low; just a few data imports during off-hours, so performance should not be a concern.
Greetings
Frank Deijkers

What you might try is to install XI 3.0 first.  Then, install the other J2EE applications on the XI's J2EE.

If you mean to say if you can lay down R12 software (to upgrade from 11i) with an existing EBS database then the answer is Yes.
I hope it is clean now.

  • Install APEX to work on existing Oracle 10g R1 database

I want to use APEX on an existing Oracle 10g R1 database. If I install it normally with the program downloaded from your site, it installs its own database that you use.
How can I set / install it to use the existing database instead of its own database?
    Elsie Pretorius

    Hi guys,
Thanks for the info and input. Is there anybody have sucessfully done this. Most of the info that out there, the README in the patchset all pointing to upgrading the OCS, not installing the OCS on top of an existing 10g AS and DB. I'm thinking installing the OCS R2, and then patching and upgrade it to 9.0.4.2 or 4.3 and then point or move it to the existing 10AS and DB. This is where I'm quit blur at the moment.
Anyway thank for all the info.

It is possible to add NWDI to esisting j2ee instance.
    Follow these steps,

deploy SAPDEVINF.sca from <b>offline</b> component folder in your 04 build. It will be under sikwxx.relesed\j2ee-cd\jdi.
deploy SAPDEVINF.sca and SA{BUILDT from <b>online</b> component folder in the same path as said above.

3.Then go to c:\usr\sap\SID\sys\global\CMS_CBS\plugins.Then copy all the sca's under that to c:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox.
    If it is<b> 04s</b>
1.Deploy DI-DTR,DI-CBS,DI-CMS on to the engine from production path under BS folder release.

  • Installing OES 11 SP3 into Existing OES 11 SP1 tree

It been a while since I personally have installed a server into an existing Edir tree, never done it on Linux/OES. Can someone give a quick checklist I can follow that will aid me installing the new OES 11 SP3 into our existing EDir tree?
I am reading the OES 11 Documentation and it seems to me there should be some more server / tree health checking done before installing. I cant remember the command to check tree health right now either.
    Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the reply. For some reason I remember more checks having to be done. But it has been several years and it was on Netware.

The documentation should have everything you need. If you want to check

only thing I ever bother doing outside of looking things over briefly in
iMonitor (agent summary, obituary report, check the replica-ring for
non-green stuff) and time checking (be sure time is in syhnc, which is an
OS issue) is perhaps install a new test server into its own tree from
which I can import schema into the new tree. It is not required, but it's
one less thing to have fail during the real server install into the
    existing tree.
    Good luck.

  • Options to utilise the CQ5 features in existing J2EE web applications

    Hi All,
Can some one let me the options to integrate existing J2EE application with Day CQ CMS ?
I mean how can i display the CQ content on the JSP pages in J2EE application ?
    Thanks in advance !!

As I understand the JavaFX 2.0 technology, it provides a rich interface to client or desktop apps written in Java. JavaFX 2.0 runs on the JVM, the API it provides is a Java API. You can access the API from any JVM language, so you can use Java to develop your applications (which is what i would advise when
first starting using JavaFX). But you can also use other JVM languages for applications development if desired (eg. JRuby, Scala, Groovy, etc).
Can you take an existing Web-based j2ee application and embed Java FX 2.0 technology in its jsp pages You can embed a JavaFX application in an html web page which was created using jsp (or any other web page assembly) technology. This works in much the same way as embedding a Flash App in an html page. See http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/deployment/deployment_toolkit.htm for documentation on how to do this.
to provide a richer interface, better user experience to overcome issues associated with the stateless nature of http and the UI controls utilized in web-based applications?JavaFX is one technology which could be used to do this, other technologies would be things like AJAX, Flash, Silverlight embedded in web pages or standalone applications written in JavaFX or other client technology. Essentially if you are doing this, you are developing what used to be known as a client-server application where some of the logic and control happens on the client and some happens on the server and you have some kind of network communication layer between them, as referred to by gimbal2.

  • Installing Portal Platform: Error "Portal Exist"

I am trying to install the Sneak preview. I am now at the stage where I have to install the Portal.
However, I get the following error:
    Analyzer found the following mismatch
Pre-installation/J2EE/Portal Existence Check that portal exists
    The error description: "Portal exist"
Does anybody know how to continue?
    I have already installed:
    - Java(TM) 2 SDK, Standard Edition Version 1.4.2
    - the SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40 SP9 and MaxDB 7.5
    - the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio SP9

Have solved it. Contrary to what is said in the FAQ, there is no uninstall in the SAPINST program (the one you can download). But there's an uninstall executable in C:\USR\SAP\J2E\JC00\UNINSTSAP.EXE
I uninstalled the J2E, then reinstalled it. After that I could install the portal... Maybe it would have been enough to re-install the J2E.
But anyway, I can continue the installation.

  • Why am I told Bing is already installed when it does not exist on my computer????????

I removed Bing from my computer as I did not like it much. Since Google has now become such a useless piece of junk I decided to re-install Bing but each time I try I get the following message.
    Quiote:
Firefox could not install the search plugin from "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/54407/bing-20090601.xml?src=category" because an engine with the same name already exists.
This engine does no show up anywhere on my computer except for an XML file in Firefox/searchengines. I have deleted them but it makes no difference. The files do not show in Tools\addons nor in about:config. Please don't tell me that Firefox is become as useless as Google...............I don't want to have to use IE.

Bing should be installed as one of the default search engines (bing.xml in the searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder)
If the file is there and you do not see it in Manage Search engines then click the "Restore Defaults" button to restore the default search engines.
If that didn't help then delete the search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

  • Install Oracle Access Manager in existing Access Manager domain

    Hi
I am operator of a windows system with Oracle Access Manager installed.
We use OAM for SSO against Webpages in OIM running on Jboss, and now we are going to implement against a WebLogic webapplication too.
The userbase is standard Active Directory
I did not set up OAM myself so I'm not completely sure how it works.
To be able to test the SSO solution given by an external provider, I need to have a proper stage environment.
My idea is to set up another OAM on another server, wich points towards the same AD domaincontroller as the existing OAM
Is this possible? In the installation guide I find that the new AccessManager system should be added into the existing OAM configuration , before we turn of the existing OAM and then install the complete OAM on the new server. Then we can turn on the existing OAM again, and implement them as clusters. I would like them to be two indipendent instances not affecting one another, but in the same AD domain to be able to test features in one of them and use the other as the production server.
My fear is that I "mess up" the form in AD created from the old OAM, and that way mess the upp production environment.
    Edited by: user631873 on 11.sep.2009 06:22

    Hi,
Technically, you can certainly set up a new OAM infrastructure which points to the existing AD instance. You could do this in a number of ways, for example:
    - set up the new instance so that it points to the same users and configuration branch as the existing instance, so that the new instance is effectively just an extension of the existing instance (with extra Identity and Access Servers, etc) ;
    - set up the new instance so that it points to the same AD instance, but uses different User searchbase and Config branch. In this case the new instance is more or less completely separate, but it happens to use the same directory ;
    - set up the new instance so that it points to the same Users, but a different Config branch, in which case the new instance has independed OAM configuration (policies, authentication schemes etc) but operates on the same user base.
(In OAM you can define separate ldap locations for the Users, Identity Config and Access Config.)
It depends on exactly what you want, but if the idea is to have a proper stage environment, then it is usually better for them to be completely independent, including the directory. OAM can update users as well as policies, and additionally different major versions of OAM have different schemas, so there are risks when using the same directory instance. Load testing is also an issue, since the directory is accessed extensivley by OAM.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 database missing?? New install of Exchange 2007 co-exist

    Hi all,
Finally got Exchange 2013 SP1 installed except I am not so sure I have a database. This is installed on a Server 2008 system and is co-existing with Exchange 2007.
When I go to SERVERS and DATABASES I don't have anything listed. When I click SERVERS on the left hand pane and SERVERS at the top I see both servers, 2007 and 2013. But when I double click my new Exchange Server 2013 name I get the error:
The operation couldn't be performed because object '*\ExchangeServerName' couldn't be found on 'FirstDCName.mydomain.com'
Why would I get this error? The install itself was problematic so I am concerned something is broke.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
Firstly, I recommend you check if the server name "*\ExchangeServerName" exists on DC via ADUC (select Computers).
Secondly, please run the get-exchangeserver | fl name cmdlet to check your exchange server name.
And then please check the exchange setup log to check if the exchange 2013 server is installed successfully. If not, please check if there is any error in setup log.

  • I have windows 7 32-bit in my mac pro but i want to install 64-bit. How can install 64-bit on my existing 32-bit using bootcamp?

I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my existing windows 7 32-bit. Can someone guide me with step by step process on how to install without losing data from windows?

Unfortunately, you can't. Windows has never, ever been able to install an upgrade, or even the same version over itself without essentially destroying the drive.
Make absolutely sure all of your personal data is backed up, first.
When you install Win 64 from the DVD over an existing installation, it gives you two choices, both of which stink. One simply replaces all of the standard directories with all new data, fully erasing all third party apps you've installed and all of your settings. The second choice isn't any better. It moves all of the standard directories into a folder named Old Data (or something like that). Which again takes all of your third party software with it, along with your personal settings.
No matter which lousy choice you make, you have to reinstall all of your third party apps and set everything up again as if it were a new computer. The only thing that's different from a brand new computer is that your pictures and other such data should still be in your user folder. But everything else will be broken.

    Any advice?
If you are the only user of your system you may be able to do this fairly easily.  If there is more than one account it still may be be possible but there's a potential "gotcha".
If you intend to keep your home dir on a separate drive from your boot ssd, depending on how many of your own apps and data you intend to put on the ssd for faster access you really only need a 60GB to 120GB ssd.  Assume the OS itself will need up to about 25GB of that ssd.
Assuming your are the only user then install the new OS on the ssd and create an account with the same account name of the one you had for the original system.  Once that is up and running you can use the standard procedures to move an account to another drive.  In other words use the Account system preferences to modify the account (account's Advanced Options) home dir info to point to your old home dir on the other drive.  In this case you don't have any current home dir to actually move since you intend to use your old one on your other drive.  Now reboot.  Hopefully your reboot will come up using your old home dir.
The "gotcha" here is the userid.  If you are the only user it should remain 501.  So doing what I suggest above hopefully will work -- "hopefully" in that it has to be assumed your old account also had userid 501.  With more than one account, if your old account wasn't 501 then I think you are in for ownership problems.
If you try this don't even attempt this without full backups of your original home disk(s).  Best you create a bootable backup of your newly created ssd too so you don't have to reinstall and you can revert it from the backup if something goes wrong.  Doing it this way doesn't write to new ssd cells if you don't have to (I am always concerend about this with ssd's even with possible TRIM or garbage collection).
