Installing XP on a macbook - I have a problem can anybody help me?

I have a macbook running Snow Leopard and I tried to use Bootcamp to install Windows XP.
Bootcamp runs ok and I was taken through the partitioning but when I get to the "Welcome to Setup" screen with the following options ....
To Set up Windows XP now, press ENTER
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R
To quit setup without installing Windows XP. press F3
the keyboard won't allow me to do anything - I can't press enter, R or F3 and I have to turn the computer off at the power button.
Does anybody have any idea where I am going wrong?

Are you installing Windows XP (32-bit) SP2 or higher? SP1 is not supported; wondering if you've been trying to install Sp1?
Also if you're using a wireless keyboard and mouse, try connecting a USB keyboard before powering up and hopefully WinXP installation can be repaired.

I have been experiencing a few issues with my macbook, so I popped it into disc utility to verify everything... it identified a few issues that it thought would be sorted if I booted from another drive.
So I booted from my external hard drive, got everything repaired and thought whilst I was there I would give it a defrag. This turned out to be a bad idea.
The defrag failed first time out, so trying not to panic I repaired and tried again and it said it had completed but also provided a device error.
Now the main hd wont load, I get the prohibition sign.
Ive tried booting from the DVD, this identifys the hd in disk utility, (although its greyed out) and allows me to verify and repair... So I try again... prohibition sign once more.
I booted from the DVD and tried to backup from timemachine, this appears to be fine but when I select the drive to backup to the hd doesnt appear...
I attempted a reinstall... but just cant see the hd to install too...
Im running out of ideas! Can anyone help?
Im happy enough to wipe it clean and just back up from time machine... how would i do this?

Your right it wasnt discwarrior, apologies I think it was called disc magic or drive magic (I used my brothers external to boot from so dont know the actual name)it had a graphic of a spinning black disc on a brown (i think!) background with white text swirling around it... sorry to get so esoteric!
Im also unsure about the exact nature of the first failure... I know the defrag failed and it told me to repair the drive again which I did using discwarrior.
When I launch Disk Utility on the Install DVD, It appears that the hd is not mounted, so i assume thats why its unable to install to it, or restore via timemachine to it...
I have a windows 7 bootcamp partition on the drive which is working fine (its what Im working off now)

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

The ipod is not a backup device. You should have everything on your comptuer backed up to an external source ( cd, dvd, flash drive, external drive, etc).
Some movies are redownloadable, some are not. The movie studios decide this.

Have a problem, can someone help

After googling for hours and trying unsuccessfully to contact Dell (their chat reps were useless) and Creative (will explain in this post) I am still at a dead end on getting a solution to my issue.
I had to reformat my PC (running Vista 32bit) and when I went to reinstall all my drivers and whatnot, it asked me for an activation code. I don't have the sleeve that the disc came in (that came with my Dell Laptop).
Dell told me to contact Creative, and I was gonna do that through the customer service email tech support thing, but it's asking me for a model # or something and I don't have the information. If I had access to THAT, I'd have access to my activation key as they're on the same label I think.
Anyway, I can't record audio from my soundcard until I get this fixed, and I refuse to pay for software I already own just to get a key.
Anyone else having this issue and is there any hope of Creative being generous and giving me another activation key or are they gonna tell me to stick it and, as Joe said in Reservoir Dogs, "cough up the bucks ya cheap b*stard"?Message Edited by jazzysoul2007 on 08-29-200708:2 PM

It's hard for Customer Support to assist you if they have no idea which product you have in the first place. What I can suggest to you is at least identify the exact product name with Dell first since it's bundled with it. With this information, you can then check with Customer Support for assistance. If you know the product name and it doesn't have any model number/serial number, just key in some random number in the e-mail support request form but make sure you explain yourself in details under the 'Description' column.
I suspect you have the Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced MB since you mention laptop and activation code.

Attach the drive via USB. Insert the disk into the drive. It'll show up on the desktop. Double click the disk icon and then run the installer.

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.
Sorry, just this minute went to insert image and it is giving me a message saying this sort of content is not allowed?.

Have you attempted to reset the SMC? That would be the first step. Hold the left control, option, shift key and the power button for about 5 seconds and release. Then try to reboot. Might as well reset the PRAM as well. Hold command, option, P, R on start up until the machine restarts. If that doesnt' have any affect we'll have to dig deeper into a potential hardware failure.
If this method doesn't work, check the webcam that will tell the problem is on the iSight & WiFi cable. If your webcam is ok, then it'll be the WiFi card problem. Hope it can help ;-)

Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts

Well...I went to the modem (Westell, WireSpeed), found the NAT settings, once again, I'm WAY over my head, I am assuming this is a TCP connection (as opposed to a UDP) and per Lorex my mobile devices will use port 1025. So I gave it a "global port range" of 1-10 and I indicated that the "base host port" was 80, 1025, & 9000 (ports 1,2,3). When I selected the 'enable' it asked for a "host devise" my choices are my IPhone, IMac and the IP address for the dvr, so I choose the dvr. I still cannot connect and canyouseeme still can NOT find these open ports. This is taking up my whole day! I don't know how people figure this stuff out.
