Installtion of Sun DSEE7.0 on Solaris 10 x86 error

When attempting to install, either by native package or by zip package, the dsadm create /dsInst command always returns the error: Invalid argument. The return code is 126. Both the native package install and the zip package install without any errors. I've also installed the recommended patch cluster. Any help?
Thanks,
ISUROB

It is not supported on Solaris running on Intel.
btw - AquaLogic DSP (aka LD8.5) is the current version. It is not supported on Solaris running on Intel, either.

  • Install error for Oracle 10g on Solaris x86 64-bit.  NETCA won't run

    Hi All,
I'm installing Oracle 10.2.0.1 on Solaris x86 64-bit. I run the Oracle installer and all runs well until the NETCA portion of the install. It then errors (error file below). When i attempt to run NETCA outside of the installer i'm getting the same error output. I have verified my OS version and that all dependent packages are installed. I'm not sure what is causing this. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

  • How to upgrade oracle 32 to 64 bit on sun solaris x86 64 bit OS?

    Hi,
I want to upgrade/convert 32 bit Oracle Database 10.2.0.2 to 64 bit database. Existing 32 bit database is RAC and it is running on Sun Solaris X86 64 bit OS.
First, I want to know is it possible?
If yes, then what are the exact steps?

    Hi,
Such a migration can be done, just follow the steps in Metalink note 62290.1
It is important to remember that 64-bit database requires more shared pool memory so you should increase your shared pool size.

    Hello people,
I want to integrate a Solaris x86 server on Sun Management Center platform.
If I'm not wrong, SunMC doesn't run for Solaris x86, server and client only as console with Java.
In speat of it, I try to install Sun Management Center 3.0 Agent for Solaris x86.
It seems to be ok, install packages, but when execute es-setup script, intents to create the following directory:
    /opt/SUNWsymon/base/bin/sparc-sun-solaris2.8
I supose that in this directory, SunMC will install sparc binary files
At this point, I can't follow the installation and abort it.
Can anybody give me ideas to install and integrate my solaris x86 server on SunMC ?

could you guide please? If you still have a copy of your SunMC media around, the same ["es-inst"|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2215/command-line-1?l=en&a=view] program you use to install Solaris Agents should work on Linux as well. It autodetects OS type and will install Solaris packages or RPMs as appropriate.

    Hi
From the Unix prompt enter oemapp console(for v9.x). If you are using earlier versions it is oemapp console (for starting the console) and oemapp dbastudio(for starting dba studio)
For starting OMS enter: oemctrl start oms.
    Hope this helps

  • Sun Performance library or just a tuned BLAS for Solaris x86?

    Hi,
I know the sun performance library is not available on Solaris x86, but is
there at least a tuned blas library available?
    thanks,
    tim

The compilation line you list is correct. One way to see if there are outstanding unsatisfied references is to use the ldd command on the shared library that you created:
    % CC -dalign -xarch=v9a -G -o LA.so $(OBJECTS) -library=sunperf -staticlib=sunperf
    % ldd LA.so
I assume that one or more of the .o files in the $(OBJECTS) list makes calls to Perflib routines. Does your application (the code that is linking to the LA.so shared library) also make calls to Perflib routines? If so, these will not have been satisfied in the previous creation of the LA.so shared library.

    Yeahh, guys!!!
I was trying to establish a two-node cluster using VirtualBox + Solaris x86 + Sun Cluster 3.2. The node where I was running scinstall to configure my cluster environment was rebooting the other node in the end of the configuration process but it was hanging in the "Rebooting node01..." message just because it was not able to establish the cluster.
After see your comments, I changed Solaris x86 to Solaris Express Community Edition and Sun Cluster to Cluster Express and now everything is working fine!
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I have the same problem, too.
I installed DSEE7 on Solaris 10 SPARC. The installation went smoothly and there was no error occur.
I cd to the folder /opt/SUNWdsee7/bin, login as root user, and the run the command ./dsccsetup initialize.
After that I login Weblogic 10 server console as the weblogic user and installed the dscc7.war file. The installation also went smoothly and no error at all. I got the following error when I tried to open the page http://host:port/dscc7:
An unexpected error occurred while checking the status of Sun Directory Service Control Center.

I've tried all the solutions that I found in the Sun forum, but it didn't work. Please help me if you can.
Note: I cannot run the weblogic server as root account.
    Many thanks,
