Instance Preference issue

Hi fellows,
I am looking for a way to change the instance preference (Not Used, Preferred, or Available) .
I am using Oracle RAC 10.2.0.5, with 3 nodes.
I tried to use this:
srvctl modify service -d uniquename -s service -n -i node1,node2
This command changed the service status , but i would like to change the policy services.
Any information about this would be helpful.

Google images shows 2,400,000 image results but only displays 3,000- NOT a preference issue- why/how to fix

When accessing image searches, such as "typographic resume" I get an insanely large result such as 2,470,000 images. However, after about 3,000 results they stop showing without a notification that similar results have been removed. I have my preferences set as high as they go- it is not an issue. How can I adjust/fix this to show ALL results as I approach them, or the option to load more.

Thanks for contacting Mozilla Support. I think what Chandan_Baba was trying to say is our browser only displays the results that Google gives us. There are no settings in the browser that would limit the amount of search results that you can see.
I would recommend posting your question to google's support. They have a page [https://support.google.com/websearch/troubleshooter/3425345?&ref_topic=3285072#ts=3502652 here] to report issues with Image searches.

Can't install a .mpkg file - a Security Preferences issue?

I'm having the issue installiung a .mpkg file - it's an App from Pantone.
The message says "Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac Store and identified developers"
I went into the "get info" and made sure that "Installer" was selected under "Open With:" but that didn't fix it.

By default Apple has changed the security settings to only allow installation of apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers. To change this permanently or temporarily go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. On the General Tab click the little lock in the lower left corner to unlock the general preference pane.

Adobe Reader preferences issue, text stretched and zoomed in.

I have a user with Adobe Reader 11.0.2 installed and cannot change his preferences and always receives a "Screen reader" prompt when opening a PDF. The window is stretched accross the screen and the only way to close it is Tab - Enter. The preferences are the same way, theres no way to check the settings because the window is too zoomed in and the text is too large. I have already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, deleted all the folders and reg keys to do a clean install as well as under multiple profiles. Same issue each time. Has anyone else seen this issue?
Any advice would be great.

Soooo, annoying. I don't understand how Adobe can have 20+ years of experience with Illustrator and still not have fixed a few simple things. I keep getting the corrupt preferences warning every time i open ill. I can't find any solutions anywhere for this. What is the deal?
If anyone can let me know how I can take care of this annoyance I would really appreciate it. It's driving me crazy.

Windows XP Pro. Running as admin.
I've deleted the settings folder. No effect. If I reboot Ill will present the same warning. If I close Illustrator for a couple hours, same thing. It's a common problem. I've seen plenty of people on the web complaining about it, including on this forum, but have never found any solutions that work. The common suggestion is to either move the settings folder or delete it altogether and have illustrator rewrite the pref file but like most other people out there, that hasn't worked. The issue is recurring. The other is to delete the pref file upon illustrator start up. Still same issue. No matter what, when illustrator closes it corrupts the pref file or when it opens it doesn't recognize the pref file as valid. Quite annoying. So, my recent files don't show up, my keyboard shortcuts, gone, my scratch disk settings, units, all of that has to be redone everytime. My workspace is unaffected though. So really, it's just the pref file. It really is quite annoying. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

SSAS 2012 multi-instance installation issue

Just wanted to share an issue and the resolution. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Symptoms
After installing the second named instance of SSAS 2012 on the same machine the first instance stops working.
Cause
The problem is that the second SSAS instance installed on the same machine doesn’t create its own INI file, but overwrites the original one, created by the first instance. The second instance’s
service is configured to use the overwritten INI. Note that the overwritten INI is still located in its original folder, ex. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS01\OLAP\Config\msmdsrv.ini.
As a result, the second instance’s service works well, but the first one will fail to start once it’s shut down for the first time.
Resolution
For the sake of simplicity we will use names SSAS01 and SSAS02 for the first and the second named SSAS instances installed on the same machine called SERVER01. The default instance root directory
will be C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server.
1. Install both named instances normally, using same instance root directory, but separate folders for Data, Log. etc.
2. Browse to the first instance “Config” folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS01\OLAP\Config. Make sure that the file msmdsrv.ini exists and folder locations within it
point to SSAS02.
3. Browse to the second instance folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS02\OLAP. Make sure that the “Config” subfolder does not exist.
4. Create “Config” subfolder under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS02\OLAP
5. Change folder permissions:
In C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS01\OLAP\Config
Remove SQLServerMSASUser$SERVER01$SSAS02 local group
Add SQLServerMSASUser$SERVER01$SSAS01 local group with Full permissions
In C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS02\OLAP\Config
Add SQLServerMSASUser$SERVER01$SSAS02 local group with Full permissions
6. Copy INI file:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS01\OLAP\Config\msmdsrv.ini
To:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS02\OLAP\Config\
7. Edit the original INI file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS01\OLAP\Config\msmdsrv.ini.
Replace all “SSAS02” appearances with “SSAS01”.
8. Edit Registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSOLAP$UATSSAS02]
Change ImagePath value to:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.UATSSAS02\OLAP\bin\msmdsrv.exe" -s "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.SSAS02\OLAP\Config"
9. Start the services for both instances.

Crystal Reports XI R2 Server: InfoView - Save Preferences Issues

Hello All;
I beleive this issue is related to how I set the security for the users/groups/folders.
Once I have the user defined and attached to a group then to a folder, I cannot save it preferences in InfoView. Any suggestions how the security is suppose to set up from the user to the folder level.
I sign on as administrator in CMC under Business Object Enterprise Application/Infoview, I have granted rights to change user preferences. but left Everyone will inherit rights from the parental group box unchecked.
Any suggestions?

Which preferences do you mean? The preferences every user can change (if allowed) in Infoview? i,e, what you see on the top-right corner in Infoview?

System preferences issue?

I just got my system preferences to work. But can one of you 10.8 users please verify this:
When I secondary tap in my desktop and click "change desktop background" the system preferences window will appear the first time..
But if I do it again the second time, the window will not appear, it's like it auto hides itself? Any occurrences of the same kind for any of you?
And I also hear some random sound notifications in the background, but I check my notification center and nothing is changed or active..any of you getting this issue too?

I turn on the system, I use the right click on desktop and select "change desktop background" system preferences is showing up, and everything is fine. But when I try to do this again I can see that the system preferences start but the window is not showing up, I need to press the icon on the dock, or press command+tab, or use the right click on desktop and select change desktop background again, to see the window.
If I use system preferences from apple menu or dock icon, it run fine, but all the times when I try to change the desktop backgroung using the right click option this issue happen again.

ISetup Instance Mapping issue

Release 12.1.3: Env A is our central environment, Env B is our SOURCE env and Env C is our TARGET env. On env A, under $FND_TOP/secure, I have A.dbc, B.dbc and C.dbc. I have logged on env A using iSetup resp. and I can only create Instance Mapping row for A env. When I try to create Instance Mapping for B or C, I get error message saying 'File B.dbc or C.dbc' does not exist. Please contact the Web Master or System Administrator'. Our sqlnet.ora also has the value tcp_invited_nodes for envs B and C. Please share what is not being done correctly?

ViewObject instance name issue

Hi,
suppose you have a viewobject named ProductView.
If you add it to an application module, and give it the instance name 'SomeView', and save that, there's no way to recall that it was based on ProductView.
What I mean is this: If I forget that SomeView is actually ProductView, there's no way to recall that, but to read the xml file, or find out with some java code. I think the wizard should display the original name somewhere.
For small application modules this is usually not that big an issue, since giving proper names usually helps with this sort of stuff. But for large application modules with over 30 viewobjects, this can be a real annoyance.

Yes, would be really great if the JDev team could
in the AM dialog
- display the original full qualified named in a tooltip
- add a "sync" context menu to a node in the "data model " tree that selects the VO in the "availabe view objects" tree.
in the VO dialog
- same as above only for EO
- display the FQN to the accessor in the "association end" drop down or perhaps display a multi column drop down displaying the FQN association name. It is really difficult to see if the correct association is used.
- Perhaps also display the subtypes for inherited EOs as tooltip

"MovieClip.attachMovie()" and "Linkage" preferences issue

MovieClips imported on Stage dynamically through
"MovieClip.attachMovie()" method are not exported in the compiled
.swf if the "Export in First Frame" property is not checked in
their Linkage preferences. But I need them not to be exported in
first frame because of use of preloader.
Does anyone have a solution?

1. Use a 'mother' swf to load your movie.
2. If you need to have one file:
Create a layer 'assets'. Create a keyframe - for instance on
frame 5. Drag all assets that have a linkage identifier from the
library to the stage on that frame/layer. Now create a keyframe in
one of your other (existing) layers - for instance on frame 10 and
set a label 'start'. Instruct the preloader to go to frame 10 when
loading is done.

Cloning DB to single instance ASM issue 11.2.0.3

Hi All,
Having trouble cloning a DB via OEM to a new server I just built up which utilizes a single instance ASM.
Creating a new DB via dbca onto ASM works no problems.
When doing the clone it fails on the source server during the duplicate database step with the following output:

It appears as though the target server doesn't start the new DB up in nomount because control files don't exist yet.
The init ora file exists on the target server and when trying to run "startup nomount" manually it fails with:
SQL> startup nomount
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00117: syntax error at ',' at the start of input
The init ora file looks all correct except for the last line:
control_files='',''
Any ideas on what else to check?
No firewall issues, both source and target servers can ping one another and port 1521 is open on both.
Both source and target servers are running 11.2.0.3.
Looking forward to some much needed help as this has me stumped.

If I were you, I would open in nomount the Instance were its going to be duplicated to verify all the parameters are correct even before starting the duplicate, also you can change several parameters in the duplicate command

The first thing I would suggest is to restart your computer and see if the issue persists. If so, then you may need to try the following troubleshooting steps:
