I have created the dbs also and every thing was working fine.
But after restarting the nodes instences in 1 node is not starting. 1 node is up so i can connect to DB.

instance testdb2 is not running on node xd-oradbb1-vm
srvct node apps - No Errors
crsctl - Both are online No Errors
When I try to start Below is the erro I am getting

2 nodes RAC with Oracle 10g on Windows 2000 server
Hi at all. I want to manage a cluster having 2 nodes on windows 2000 server each of them with Oracle 10g. I have VMWare 5.0. Someone can suggest me a detailed tutorial how to start and built it? Thank you very much for your answers.
Saverio Sergio Molathe cookbooks here:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/vmware/cookbook/index.html
will explain how to install.. however the VMware Workstation product doesn't offer in a supportedway the sharing of two nodes of disks.. there are hacks out there, but they are not very stable. We therefor chose to install two instances on one node to showcase RAC, rather than make it complicated and unstable to use and showcase.
there are also ready made VM's from above page, so u can quickly evaluate it for both Red HAt and SuSE.. when vmware can support such sharing in an easy supported way we might re-evaluate.. until then my personal suggestion is to stick to simple case.. 2 instances on one node.. its easier to copy, snapshot.. etc.
Enjoy..

Install Oracle 11gr2 on Windows 2008 R2 with ASM step by step Guide needed
Hi,
I am looking for a step by step guide on installing Oracle 11gr2 on Windows 2008 R2 with ASM etc. This is not a RAC environment since ASM architecture is a bit different in 11gR2, I would appreciate if anyone can point me to a guide to follow or provide a one.
Thanks in advance.

Install Oracle 10g on windows 2008 Server 64bit
Is it possible to install Oracle 10g on Windows 2008 64bit . I read one post below it says , windows 2008 is not certified for oracle 10g ..
windows server 2008 Oracle 10G 64 bit
before I installed 32bit , it is throwing error message on alert log file on every 5 seconds.
"OER 7451 in Load Indicator : Error Code = OSD-04500: illegal option specified
O/S-Error: (OS 1) Incorrect function. ! "
if it is possible which version I want to download is best ..
and what is the recommendation whether it is 10g or 11gYou mean to say Oracle 10g 64bit will not work in Windows 2008..?No, i meaned the post you linked was written in year 2008, in that year it's was a unsupported platform for that oracle version. Actually its supported and you can install it.
Furthermore like Aman told you, It's more recommended install 11gR2 version

same issue here. I need 10.2.0.3.0 with install software to bring a legacy sid over onto new server hardware that will not support Win 2003. I have Win 2008 32bit loaded and just need the software install ruitine to make the move. My legacy 10g server running on older hardware and Win 2003 works, but is now uncompliant with IA requirements now. We are sandboxing this application. My new server will need to have 2008 on it.
Will Oracle supply me the software. I have paid maintenace on my account every year. Just paid it for this year in Ocober. Should not have an issue here.submit a Service Request & you'll get your question answered -
Error: SAP installation of ERP Sr3 with ORACLE 10g on Windows 2008 server
Dear all,
while installaing SAP ERP SR3 with ORACLE 10g on windows 2008 server...
we are getting error as not support.
please confirm wether this version of OS is uspported or not.
thanking you in all,

Animeshactualy we tried to change Oraparam.ini file in the installation folder...
edited ... windows= 5.0, 5.1, 6.0
we had entered 6.0
Yes - that is necessary.
and started ... but after starting we are getting ERROR like unKNOWN and installation popup (OUI popup) exiting with .. error popup.
Yes - because Oracle delivers its own Java version - which is too old to run on Windows 2008.
if you suggest us to use 2003 64 bit for temporaray .... purpose.
and is there any specified procedure to UPgrade OS.
like... DB should be updated before OS upgradation.
You can run 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2003 x64 nicely and upgrade to Windows 2008. Since there is no "upgrade" (it is the highest version supported) there´s no need to do anything.
The question you have to ask is:
Why do you need Windows 2008? Is there any technical implication?

Oracle 11GR2 on windows 2008 Geo-Dispersed cluster
Hi all,
anyone can guide me about the installing oracle 11GR2 on windows 2008 Geo-dispersed cluster environment? Please guide and provide documentation if possible,
thanksBy "geo-dispersed", do you mean a cluster with servers is physically remote locations ? If so, the install process does not care about how far apart the servers are physically. Follow the standard install doc at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e16773/toc.htm

Optimal NTFS block size for Oracle 11G on Windows 2008 R2 (OLTP)
Hi All,
We are currently setting up an Oracle 11G instance on a Windows 2008 R2 server and were looking to see if there was an optimal NTFS block size. I've read the following: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/win.112/e10845/specs.htm
But it only mentioned the block sizes that can be used (2k - 16k). And basically what i got out of it, was the different block szes affect the max # of database files possible for each database.
Is there an optimal NTFS block size for Oracle 11G OLTP system on Windows?
Thanks in advanceIs there an optimal NTFS block size for Oracle 11G OLTP system on Windows?ideally FS block size should be equal to Oracle tablespace block size.
or at least be N times less than Oracle block size.
For example - if Oracle BS=8K then NTFS BS better to be 8K but also can be 4K or 2K.
Also both must be 1 to N times of Disk sector size. Older disks had sectors 512 bytes.
Contemporary HDDs have internal sector size 4K. Usually. -

I have done Oracle 11g R2 RAC implementation and Oracle 11g R2 on dedicated microsoft Servers.

Oracle Failsafe + 11G + Windows 2008 Enterprise r2 64bits
Dear Friends,
I need to install a Oracle Fail Safe system on Windows 2008 Enterprise r2 using Oracle 11g, I have some question about this:
1-Can be installed Oracle FailSafe on a Oracle standard edition? or is complete necessary use Oracle Enterprise Edition? 11G.
2-There is a version for 64bits system of the Oracle FailSafe?
2-Failsafe and failsafe manager works under Windows 2008 Enterprise r2 64bits?
Thanks for all the answer.1-Can be installed Oracle FailSafe on a Oracle standard edition? or is complete necessary use Oracle Enterprise Edition? 11G.Oracle Fail Safe environment recommends installing database software on a two-node cluster, so it is possible with 11G
2-There is a version for 64bits system of the Oracle FailSafe? 3-Failsafe and failsafe manager works under Windows 2008 Enterprise r2 64bits?Other two answers are given in the pdf at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10736_01/doc/relnotes.341/e10719.pdf. you must go through it thoroughly. -
Error : Oracle 10g with windows 2008
Hello Experts,
We are installing Solution manager 4.0 on windows 2008 with oracle 10g(10.0.2.0)
It shows "checking operating system version must be 5.1 or 5.2 actual 6.0.
<<<<<Failed".
If orcle 10g for windows 2008 is available on the sap marketplace, please provide us the link for that.
Please recommend any other oracle version compatible to the windows 2008 fro solution manager 4.0.
We have exiting system landscape production server on windows 2003 with oracle 10g Is it compatible with the windows 2008 with oracle 10g?
Thanks & Regards,
