I have also tried adding my own personal email, I have followed instructions but i don't even have the option!! I have gone into email set up and I only have an option saying use work email account with BB Enterprise server and no option for adding personal email.

  • Problem with instant message in clustered environment

Hello, I have some problem with Instant Message service.
We need to use it in our Production Environment (a clustered emvironment with a central instance, two dialog instances and two web dispatchers), some months ago we tested it in Development Environment (not clustered emvironment, just a single system) and it worked fine.
So I did the same configurations on Production Environment but it did not work.
But if I access on my portal (Production Env.) by the central instance (avoiding the dispatchers) the instant message service works.
I think it can be a web dispatcher's configuration problem, in its logs I found the message :
    "<i>[Thr 3700] *** ERROR => htmlEncode: called with empty string [icpif.cpp 847]</i>"
I' ve repeated the same configuration done in Dev.Env. (no dispatcher) on the Prod.Env. (with 2 dispatcher), is possible that I'm missing some configurations??
    Could someone helps me?
    Best Regard

  • Problems whit Instant messaging 8.2 and SSL

Im trying to configure a instant messaging 8.2 whit ssl but when I restart the IM the mux start whitout ssl
I dont have idea what is the problem whit the configuration and I dont know if Instant messaging 8.2 support ssl
I use the same cert database that I used for the application server and smtp
Can I configure ssl only for the Mux and not for the server?
this is the configuration in the iim.conf for the mux
    iim_mux.usessl=on
iim_mux.secconfigdir=/opt/sun/comms/im/config (I also tried this parameter whit the value /etc/opt/SUNWiim/default/config but it not work)
    !iim_mux.keydbprefix=https-example.com-www-
    !iim_mux.certdbprefix=https-example.com-www-
    iim_mux.secmodfile=secmod.db
    iim_mux.certnickname=portal.example.com
    iim_mux.keystorepasswordfile=/opt/sun/comms/im/config/sslpassword.conf (I also tried whit the value "sslpassword.conf" )

Instant Messaging 7.3+ no longer supports SSL through the Multiplexor using NSS-based certificates, however you can now migrate the existing certificates from NSS store to JKS using the migratecert utility migratecert.Alternatively you can enable TLS on server which provides end to end encryption

  • Instant Message User Names have Codepage Problems

    Hi,
We're using NW 70 SPS13 Portal System and using RTC. But when we use Instant Message program, users Name and Surname displayed normally, but have character problems. Here we're using Turkish Characters in Name/Surname's and they're displayed incorrect on chat windows although they're displayed correct on LaunchPad.

    We too (with russian characters).
    Our typing with SAP:
We: We have characters problem with displaying user Names in chat window (NW 70 SPS12 Portal System)
SAP: Can you please check if the issue is reproducible when the user has no
special characters in his name ? You can simply create a new user with no special characters and check
    this.
We: No, when we using english characters in user Name/Surname, they displays properly in the chat window.
SAP: Please check if the following Java Arguments are included in SAPJ2EE. If not, please add the following Java Arguments to your server and restart the Server after that. Edit the services.ini (located under ..:\SAP_J2EEngine6.20\configtool) or start the SAPJ2EE Application Server > Tools > Config Tool.
    o -Dhtmlb.useUTF8=X
    o -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1
If you want to support non-latin characters in Filesystem based Repositories you have to set the same encoding as used for the UNIX Filesystem (For Example if you want to support special charaters such as 'umlaute' and japanese characters you can use):
    o -Dfile.encoding=UTF8
    o -Dcm.decode=X
We: Thanks for your reply but problem remains. Now i have added following java parameters to my server node:
    -Dhtmlb.useUTF8=X
    -Dfile.encoding=UTF8
and view of characters in user Name/Surname has changed to some trash.

  • Instant Message iView Problems

Can anybody help me find the EP6 NW04 SPS11 Instant Message iView? Is it configurable? There are several things that I would like to change, but can't find it (and don't know whether it is configurable).
I would like to make it work like AIM or Sametime chat windows, where the <Enter> key can be configured to perform the "Send" instead of inserting a new line in the text.
I also have problems with window resizing, where after maximizing (which only expands the message area horizontally and not verticially--still 3 inches of text in a full screen window) if I try to revert back to the original size, there are no scroll bars.
Also, if I have two chat windows open and am typing into Window "A" when a message comes in to Window "B" the desktop changes focus to Window "B" in the middle of my typing into Window "A". If I was a good typist, I would recognize this immediately and stop typing in the wrong window. Unfortunately, I have to watch my fingers or they will hit the wrong keys. This may not be configurable through the iView, but I would like to verify that.
    Can anyone help me?

Thank you, Noy. I also received a response from the developers that answered my questions, but not to my satisfaction...
Apparently, the <Enter> key used to send the message, but it was changed in EP6/SP2/P3 to put in a new line, to provide the option to send multiple lines. I would like to see it configurable by user, because most people who want to send multiple lines will just send multiple messages. AIM and Sametime provide this configuration capability, and they have been around longer than SAP RTC. There is an expectation of functionality that has been established, and I think the way SAP has deployed this has missed the mark.
Likewise, the focus of chat window is not an issue for AIM and Sametime. They both have the ability to bring a chat window to the "top" without changing the focus of where I am typing. I cannot predict when someone is going to send me a message, so it is very frustrating to be typing in one window to send someone else a message, only to have my message break in the middle and continue in the unsolicited window. It seems to me that if SAP wants adoption of their software, they should work to make it easy for people to use.

  • Problem accessing Instant Messaging

    hi,
I have been trying to access the Instant messaging module with no success. Jabber server is setup successfully and the connectivity to the server is also fine. I have copied Jabberbeans.jar version 0.9.0-pre4 to <Oracle Home>/wireless/lib but the error shown on accessing it is: 'The required jabber jar file is not present on the server.'
    PLEASE HELP !!
    Regards
    Shiv

    Hi.
I was able to get the IM application running and to log on but there is not much action.
Putting the jabberbeans.jar in the asroot/wireless/lib directory will make the IM application work. Don't forget to restart your wireless server.
Starting the IM application you will be asked to log on. To do so I've used my MSN messenger password. I can create a group and set the status but how can I be sure that I am connected to the MSN messenger service?
    So...I've applied the following settings:
    REPLACE_URL
    FORM_METHOD
    INPUT_ENCODING
Determines whether the service uses an HTTP proxy to access the Jabber Server.
The host name of the HTTP proxy, if any, used to connect to the Jabber Server.
The port number of the HTTP proxy, if any, used to connect to the Jabber Server.
The host name of the machine on which the Jabber Server is configured.
    - jabber.org.uk
The name of the user directory service configured on the Jabber Server accessed by the service.
    - username MSN (?)
The initial group name to assign to users acquired through the Yahoo! transport, if any.
    - MSN (?)
The name of the conference service configured on the Jabber Server accessed by the service, if any.
    -jabber.org.uk
The refresh page timeout for some pages accessed by the service. This value is in milliseconds.
    -20000
The maximum number of messages the service will display between you and another user.
    -10
    What are the right settings?
    rgds,
    Thomas

  • Is there any way to organize instant messages?

Today's generation, including our children, loves instant messaging. From my point of view, it has significant drawbacks. Why? Because it quickly becomes disorganized. Messages, photos, and other information is all in a jumbled stream. By contrast, email messages can easily be organized into folders and retrieved months or years later. Searching through email (or separate email folders) is a breeze. By contrast, finding something in instant messages (including wonderful photos) that is a week old, a month old, a year old, eludes me.
The other beauty of email is that when a message arrives by email, the recipient can keep it in his or her inbox as a constant reminder that it needs to be dealt with before filing it away in a more hidden location (an email folder). Instant messages, by contrast, pile up over time (often with a recipient in my generation not even recognizing that one has arrived) and there is no way to keep the significant action items visible while filing away the others.
Does anyone know of any tips or apps that might impose order on instant messages? If so, I suspect other members of my generation would be grateful to know about them. I feel foolish enough about asking this question that I wish Apple didn't require me to use my real name. :-)

Thanks Kilgore-Trout (love your name and love Breakfast of Champions). That is indeed the problem. Some day I hope these two tools will converge so that the recipient may easily move an occasional important instant message to email to establish permanence. Current methods for doing that are so primitive as to be useless.

  • How can I get my instant message icon to open? Seems to be stuck.

I wrote several instant messages this morning on my AirMac. No problem. Went back to read and respond to new IM, but IM icon will not open. If the IM comes in when I am on the computer, I can read it in the upper right hand corner of my MacBook Air before it goes away, but I cannot respond. Can anyone tell me how to open the Instant Message icon?

Try clicking on the apple symbol at the top left of the screen and chosing "Force Quit" and then close IM.
Once its closed it should reopen without a problem

  • Nokia 6300 - Instant Messaging icon/functionality ...

    Hi everybody,
I'm from Canada, and just bought a Nokia 6300 brand new a few days ago. This morning, I went on my phone to change the wallpaper, and for a second, the phone blinked and changed back to the default provider theme. I then changed back the wallpaper, but when I go into the menu, my instant messaging icon is not there anymore. Obviously, restarting the phone didn't solve the problem.
I don't know if anybody got this problem before. I've seen other functionalities missing like Calculator and Email and such, so maybe it's a software fault. Anyone can advise how to fix this problem? Is this a good phone or I just see the problems with it?
My firmware version is 4.71 28/02/2007.
Thanks in advance for your help.

It seems like your phones software has gone a bit corrupted. Please update it with the Nokia Software Updater. This should solve your problem, if not then you need to take the phone to a Nokia Service Center.
