Well, in his defense, his parents bought him the player so I guess we can't blame him. Though the 6 GB versions were available in November so I guess they really did get 'nervous' about Christmas and like to get their shopping done early! Kudo's to you for trying to remain with the Creative line but for what you're looking for it's obviously not the player for you. Creative seems to be fine-tuning their line for the audio crowd. I'm into mp3 players for the audio. Sure, the ability to watch video's and look at pictures on a decent screen is a plus but for me at least, it's all about the music. And with music, 6 GB is more than enough. Heck, 8 GB would have been more than enough for me. I'm a subscriber to Napster-to-go, so I don't feel the need to carry 00 plus GB of stuff on my portable player. I honestly don't understand the desire to watch movies or TV shows on tiny little screens. But you're also talking to a guy who doesn't watch television. What a complete waste of time and brain cells. Probably the **competitor products we can't discuss here** or one of those players would better suit your needs. Companies are definately picking their niche markets carefully and Creative's decision to not offer hard dri've players any more seems to definately be saying bye-bye to that market. I can't say I blame them. Hard dri'ves eventually give up the ghost and are quite delicate for people on the go. Good ridance, I say. Let Apple, Zune and all the others cater to the Z generation's need to be spoonfed their video/TV addictions anywhere and everywhere. I'll pass. It's one thing to be able to enjoy some music on the go and enhance an otherwise dull work day or dri've. But movies/TV shows at work, school, or wherever? Please. Cut the cord! Just my $.02 - YMMV! IBooks has stopped working on my iPad2

After the upgrade to iBooks, the app has stopped working on my iPad2. I tap the icon and the app opens up but then shuts down again after a second or so. When I go to the app store I can't download it again from my purchases, since the only option is to OPEN - and the same thing happens when I try that. Either the upgrade doesn't function correctly with the latest iOS upgrade, or there's something screwy with the app itself. Anyone have a clue as to what is going on here?

I'm using iBooks 3.0.1 with iOS 6.0.1 (and previously iOS 6) with no problems so there must be something unique about your iPad and installed software that is causing an iBooks crash.
Since you have tried restarting, resetting, and reinstallation of iBooks about the only thing left is to backup your iPod and restore the software on your system to see if that corrects the problem.

Hi, On thursday evening I closed all open windows to do some virus scanning and window washer maintenance. After I was finished I opened up firefox and went back on Ebay and the "My Ebay" window has changed to a totally different appearance and I can't access messages, etc. My AT&T Yahoo email window has also changed its appearance and has selections on it which are new and non operative. They both are now presented as a vertical format and the "My Ebay" window is expanded off the monitor with a blue sliding bar on the bottom and large white areas in the viewing area. I can shrink it down, but I then need a magnifying glass to read it. The opening Ebay sign in window is normal. The opening AT&T sign in window is normal. Also the Google instant search results, which used to appear when I was typing in my search words, has also stopped working. Everything seems to work properly on Internet Explorer. When I double click on the Mozilla icon it takes me to the Mozilla start page and shows me the Google search bar. That is what I normally see. I'm baffled.

(1) Firefox's built-in post-crash page has not been a real HTML page for a long time (for example, from the time of Firefox 22, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968212 Want to save LOTS of versions of "Restore Session.xht" from the "oops ..." page for later use]). If you had this working differently with Firefox 25, that might have been created by an extension.
You can check to see whether extensions are disabled or need an update on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom of the list. To poll for updates, use the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
If you used the Reset feature (or Firefox automatically did a reset due to some problem during upgrading), you will need to reinstall missing extensions. The reset feature creates a folder on the desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you have that folder? There may be data you can recover from it.
(2) There are many ways for history to get cleared, both internal to Firefox and external. Could you double-check your Privacy settings?

The rotation has stopped working on my iPad2 whilst I was using Skype. I have tried all settings and lock/unlock buttons but just can't get it to work.

Shop guy (who didn't seem to be an Apple specialist) simply said it "oh the sensor has gone - sent it back to Apple"

USB device (Logitech QuickCam Messenger) stopped working (SOLVED)

I have a logitech quickcam messenger, which used to work perfectly 2 days ago. I updated my system yesterday and this morning, but I tried the cam again only now, and neither cheese nor webcamstudio work anymore (it never worked in skype since I moved from Mint to Arch a few weeks ago, but that was easily (and better) addressed by starting cheese and then using desktop sharing in Skype)

The (not so obvious) solution was to connect the webcam directly to the computer and not through a USB hub. I have no idea why it used to work and suddenly stopped, but it works again now.

Yahoo Messenger stops working on 10.5.7

I downloaded the new update but now Yahoo Messenger (both the standalone application and Adium) keeps disconnecting. Is there any way to resolve this?

Further, I have tested the headset with Yahoo Messenger in Windows and its working perfectly.
So, I guess the problem is with Yahoo Messenger and/or 10.5.7 update I guess, as it worked perfectly till day before yesterday, before installing the update. I can still connect Yahoo in Mac. Also dug in the console to find a set of error messages in the yahoo messenger log:

Until couple days ago I could be able to use MSN messenger (8.0 beta)...All of a sudden without any change I got the following message, when I try to logon:
"Sign in to Messenger failed because the service is not responding. The service is not available or you may not be connected to Internet"

Since iOS 7.0.2 the apple Bluetooth keyboard has stopped working with my ipad2

The keyboard will no longer type in any app. It was getting whether caps lock was on/off confused on Friday and when I came to try to use it in lectures this morning it was completely not working. You can unpair and repair it to the ipad - type in the 4 digit code but when you try in any application - audionote/notes/mail it won't register any characters.
Hope this is enough to explain the problem, would really appreciate help ASAP

As said in the first post, that's the first thing I did. But just in case tried again and it still just won't type letters/numbers... For everything except the 4 digit pairing code.
It's really strange, wondering if it's something to do with the update as someone's I know is doing a very similar thing.
Have also already changed the batteries once since getting it less than a month ago.

Instant Search not working on local mailbox in Outlook 2007 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server

Sometime last week Instant Search stopped working on a Terminal Server we have deployed. I don't use Outlook on the server so I didn't notice it myself but users started complaining several days ago. When I checked instant search settings everything was
grayed out. I noticed that the feature for Windows Search was disabled so I enabled that feature rebooted the server and now instant search is looking for email in archive folders and sharepoint lists. Local Mailbox mail however is not being indexed by instant
search. When I check data files it says that there is no file for the local mailbox. I checked and Cached Exchange Mode is disabled so no OST is being created and apparently there is no PST for it either.
Do I need an OST/PST to search the local mailbox?
Also I have added the Office GPO Templates and enabled the GPO for allowing Cached Exchange Mode but that doesn't seem to be helping either. Please help.

One of our clients has reported that 5 different users, when RDP'd into 3 different RDS Servers, cannot use the Instant Search.
I haven't been able to find anything about this in my online searches.
Like you, the mailboxes aren't even appearing under Instant Search > Search Options. Also, it would appear that there are no locally-hosted .ost/.pst's for any of the users on this server; can the instant search function work on a .pst that's saved
somewhere else on the network?

Alert sounds stopped working

My email, WWF, etc. alert sounds stopped working on my Ipad2, suddenly, for no reason. I tried resetting the system 3 times and that did not hellp. The OS is up to date. The do work if I 'test' them, though. And, my sound works fine on videos, etc.
Any suggestions? It is past the warranty period

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. My original iPad was upgraded to iOS 5 and then 5.1. Somewhere in between my Messenger stopped working correctly. I can receive messages, but I can't reply to them. Any ideas?

Instant Messenger on E65

Does anyone know how to set up the IM on the Nokia E65? When i open the programme it just says "No Server Defined" Define one now?" and if I click yes it asks me for things like the server name and access point in use and the web address...
Do I input msn messenger details to get it working?
