Instant messenger with selective "appear online" option

Hello,
I have heard that Windows Live Messenger has added a feature that allows you to appear online only to a group of people.The other contacts will see you as appear offline.It's an interesting feature for me, so do you know any alternatives for Linux(with a similar feature)?

Sure, it's a protocol, but there are so many clients... Pidgin seems a poor example to me, it's not real XMPP client, but multicommunicator, and being one sometimes falls for implementing only common subset of possibilities found in all supported protocols. AFAIK status for implementing P.L. in pidgin is "nooo, it's more complicated than simple invisible status, so we're not interested" (or it was so last time I checked)
As for XMPP clients, at least psi, tkabber, gajim - these are XMPP clients I have used on daily basis, and as my choice was not based on p.l. presence, I think I can say "100% success rate on random probe"
One can also play with subscriptions to achieve similar goal...

Problem with Select All/SelectNone option in af:tableSelectMany

I have an af:table component with af:tableSelectMany at the bottom of my form. I am using Partial Page Rendering to ensure that when the user does anything e.g. click a button associated with the table, the page is not reloaded so that the user does not have to scroll down to get to the table. This is an important requirement.
But when the Select All/Select None link in the af:tableSelectMany facet is clicked, the top of the page is shown and we have to scroll down to see the table again - even though the page does not seem to be reloading. Why does this happen and is there any way to fix this? Pls help

In my opinion the "Select All/Select None" is not refreshing the page, but it just set to point
to the upper of the page.. I tested it with onLoad, and it prove this "Select All/Select None"
dont refresh..So how to overcome this thing...

How to reinvent Instant Messenger with Video?

I want my client to be able to visit a web site, select one or more (USB) web cams
and view one or more live audio/video web cams streams on a web page.
(1) I assume I need a player like flash or the windows media player. Does java have a player for audio/visual? Would I have to code my own player in java? If so, where can I find the API docs and sample code?
(2) What is the name of the API that I would use to grab the live audio/visual stream off a USB web cam? Where can I find some sample code?
(3) What is the name of the API that I would use to transmitt this live audio/visual stream to a player in a remote browser? Where can I find some sample code?

The framework is Java Media Framework, it'll capture live audio/video, stream av over the network, and has a built-in player object that can be embedded in an applet.

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) problem

I use AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) with my 3G, version 2.2. When I IM someone that is signed using the AOL 9.1 software and Vista they see the word DIV, surrounded with brackets at the begining and end of my AIM text. Any suggestions for help would be appreciated

Have you tried creating a second AIM account? and see if it also comes up the same way when chatting with friends?
It's possible that when you were using AIM on another system and customized your profile or display name, it may of appeared in another way.
I don't use AIM Software at home I use
Pidgin
Digsby
Trillian
Adium
All these are all in 1 chat programs, Mainly for PC and other for Mac. But I do chat people from my iPhone using AIM or SMS responses. They never see the DIV at all.
Make a test account and see if it still happens. Make sure to check for App updates for iPhone and update your AOL AIM App if there is an update.

Problem In Single Sign On Instant Messenger JES

I have problem with single sign on to Instant Messenger.
Mail and Calendar single sign on are working fine.
I configured Instant Messenger with following parameters
Launch Method: Java Web Start
Server : servername.com
Server Port : 49999
Multiplexor : servername.com
Multiplexor Port : 49909
In Desktop Instant Messaging channel
Error: Unable to get contact information from Instant Messaging server.
And I clicked Instant Messenger link from Instant Messenger channel the following error is comming
An error occurred while launching/running the application.
Title: Sun ONE Instant Messenger

Category: Download Error

It's working out of the box for me. So I do not think there is much to configure.
We run IM service on the same node as PS and Identityserver and just followed the install docs. Nothing about SSO there... It just worked.

iChat (it would help to know which version) can accept Apple IDs as valid AIM Screen Names.
However if you have iChat 5 or earlier you cannot use ones ending in @me.com or @icloud.com issued by iCloud. (they can be used in iChat 6 or Messages as these versions make a double login to AIM and Apple to allow the use of the password).
In addition if you are using an Apple ID for an AIM Screen Name the password still needs to keep to the 16 character limit that AIM has.
AN @mac.com name can be used on any version of iChat (Until the 30th June 2014)
As it does not need a double check with Apple you can use it to log in to the AIM Web pages
Login here with an AIM Name registered at AIM or and @mac.com name and see if you get any suspended account messages.
Sometimes account can be suspended. Usually because something has triggered the "Unusual Activity" item.
About a year ago many @mac.com users that travelled out of their own country found themselves suspended when they got home.
If the Name checks out of if an Apple ID the password in known to be 16 characters or Less then do this:-
In Lion upwards open a Finder Window and use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears in the menu list.
Navigate to Preferences.
(If you have version earlier than Lion the just navigate to ~/Library/Preferences (that's the Library in you Home - Little House icon - folder)
Fnd com.apple.ichat.aim.plist (even if you are using Messages)
Drag the file to the Trash and Restart the app.

Do Contact's Instant Messenger addresses sync with Outlook?

My Outlook contacts have the IM Address field defined, however it doesn't sync that field with the Instant Messenger fields of the iPhone's Contact record.
If I add an IM address to a contact on the iPhone, and sync back to a PC through iTunes, does it store that IM Address somewhere in the Outlook record? If so, where?

I think you synchronise with outlook express, You try to synchronise with microsoft outlook, (option available at starting)
You can synchronise all email field as well notes, calender etc

Unable to sync new iPhone 4s. I have iTunes version 10.6.1. Using Windows 7. My device appears on iTunes but I am not able to select the sync option and it does not automatically start the sync option when plugged in. Ive tried reseting the device.

I am unable to sync my new iPhone 4s OR my iPod Touch 4 to iTunes.(this is the first time I am plugging them into iTunes) I have version 10.6.1. Both devices are up to date with the latest software version. Once I plug the device in, it is recognized on iTunes.The synce process does not start automatically. I am unable to select the sync option. I've tried reseting the device and restarting iTunes and the same problem happens. I have plugged in my husbands iPhone 3gs and the sync process starts automatically. I have also added my computer as an authorized computer for the new devices. What now?

Issue with Select options in select statement - ABAP Question

I am facing an issue with select options. Select statement is returning sy-subrc as 4.
I wrote the program as below:
SELECT-OPTIONS:
s_kunnr FOR bsad-kunnr,
s_lifnr FOR bsak-lifnr,
s_gjahr FOR bsad-gjahr,
s_bukrs FOR bsad-bukrs,
s_saknr FOR bsad-saknr,
s_budat FOR bsak-budat.
In start of selection I have written the select statement as
SELECT * FROM bsak INTO TABLE lt_bsak
WHERE bukrs IN s_bukrs AND lifnr = s_lifnr AND gjahr IN s_gjahr AND budat IN s_budat AND saknr IN s_saknr.
In selection screen I have not entered any values and executed the program. I am not getting any result. When I debug that, sy-subrc is 4 at above select statement. But table has records.
If am removing the "lifnr = s_lifnr " condition in select then select is returning values.
I am not getting where I made the mistake. Please suggest.

The problem here with where condition select option lifnr = s_lifnr.
Use below select query.
SELECT * FROM bsak INTO TABLE lt_bsak
WHERE bukrs IN s_bukrs
    AND lifnr     IN s_lifnr
    AND gjahr   IN s_gjahr
    AND budat IN s_budat
    AND saknr IN s_saknr.
s_lifnr is a select option and you are passing it as parameter lifnr = s_lifnr.
if you want to pass this s_lifnr as single vale then pass in below mentioned way.
lifnr = s_lifnr-low

Did this with Adobe support in LIVE CHAT, what a waist of time. Although this will correct the issue, it is like a work around and not solving why EDIT IN PHOTOSHOP... is not a clickable option (greyed out) in LR.
After the configure as suggested above, does this preclude and editing in Lighroom?

the useage the great Spot Healing Brush Tool that PSE offers, edit that part of it in PSE then SAVE the results back to LR. Any problems or suggestions for this?

Blackberry Curve-Problem with MSN Instant Messenger HELP!

I have the MSN Instant Messenger downloaded to my blackberry. I can send messages out and the recepient receives it but I'm not getting their responses back. Is anyone having this problem and if so, did you find a solution? I had contacted my service provider and wiped my phone and reinstalled the application but it still doesn't work. The weird thing is that it was working but all of a sudden stopped.

Mulitple selection with select option on subscreen

Hi colleagues,
   I've the following issue:
I'm programming a dynpro this dynpro contains two subscreens. The lower subscreen will contain another dynpro defined as subscreen with an ALV to display results.
The top subscreen (0150) area will be filled with a generated subscreen with the command
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 0150 AS SUBSCREEN.
with select options I define my selection area like:
SELECT-OPTIONS: sa_6 FOR gs_rp_attrib_sel-sonr.
   If I call my transaction starting up the dynpro containing the two subscreens the result looks quit how I expect it. BUT then I try to start up the multiply selection Pop-UP for the selection field by pressing the button just right behind the HIGH input field, nothing happens. The multiply selection pop-up basicly does not show up.
   Any clues what I need to add that it will show up?
   Does the mulitply selection not work with
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 0150 <b>AS SUBSCREEN</b>???
(If I do a simple test program with a selection screen not being a subscreen, the multiply select popup comes up.)
