Instantation Policy for Collection Object.

Dear all,
We hit the problem related to the collection object. We have extended the java's collection object, i.e. List, Set and Map, to hold some extra tranisent attributes and tried to recover them with event handler (i.e. postMerge, postClone, postBuild, postRefresh) during the object loading process. We also do not allow those extra attributes to be changed once they are set to not null by throwing exception.
The interesting thing is that, we found the exception was thrown from postMerge/postClone event handler. It seems that TopLink were trying to reuse those cached collections in the memory once TopLink believed they would not be used anymore. Is my guess correct or not? And is there any "preBulid" event for "Collection" class, so that we can initialize the collection by ourself ?

I do all my extra wiring for custom collections in the get method for the elements. I use indirection, and just use the isinstantiated method to determine when it is getting created, and add some listeners for example.

Our TOPLink projects us using by default the sequence table model for its sequencing policy.
There are a few individual tables where native sequencing is being used, and I need to map these tables and be able to insert into them.
Can I change the sequencing policy for these few tables only in version v9.0.4.9? I believe this may be possible via a Descriptor Amendment, but cannot find the method(s) that allow me to change this...

GregIn 9.0.4.* you can do this in a descriptor amendment method by invoking the following API -
descriptor.setSequenceNumberName(String name). For Oracle native sequencing this needs to be the name of the Oracle sequence object.

Data collection for cost object hierarchy - no data at order level!

Hi everyone,
When using transaction KKP6 to see my hierarchy for cost object, the system displays all the values that are allocated on my hierarchy nodes, but I do not have the values that should come from the production orders (repetitive manufacturing with production version).
I use transaction KKRZ to collect data for cost object hierarchy, but it seems that the system does not retrieve any information from the orders.
Would someone know about this point customizing steps to follow to retrieve my orders values?

Hi Amadeus,
To do so, I have used transaction OKZ5 in the customizing and ticked "always cost object hierarchy" and "distribution".
By doing so, you enable the system to distribute costs within a cost hierarchy. Otherwise the system will only determine costs on the hierarchy.
Try this, it may work for you as well. During your period-end closing, you sould now use "cost object hierarchy" instead of product cost collector.

Collecting too many objects for info-object catalog.

We are on BI 7.0 and I'm collecting info-object catalog for 0FIAR_CHA01 & 0FIAR_KYF01.
Grouping is set to Only necessary objects.
Collection Mode is set to Collect Automatically
Info area & info-object folders are collected.
There is a Package name shown but no previous transport number listed.
It is not $tmp.
What is this indicating?
No objects are checked in the transport box.
I manually check the folder levels so everything is checked.
I create the transport.
I then go to SE10 and check the transport objects and I see several additional objects in the transport that did not appear in the collector window.
Example:
   Application Components
   LOIO
   PHIO
Why were these added to the transport when they did not show on the collection window?

Hi Dennis ,
The system is by default picking up all object types.Actaully ideally it should pick up the Info Objects from the same Catalog.
In Transport connection after you select and move the Info Object catalog for collection ,When you select Package the System is Proposing all Objects as a part of Select Objects for Changing Package.
Effectively you can click on Change Package Icon and see and for Info Objects you selected only should be present in this selection.
Package ID is R3TR anad Object is IOBJ and the object name , Deselect all objects selected and select only your objects. Then it would work.
This will fix your issue and assign points if it heps

Hi,
Make sure the Infoobjects(in which you are changing it from Display attirube to Nav attribute) and collect the other things in a seperate request (Infoproviders, the deativated transformations and the DTP followed by Queries). Release the request to QA/Prd in a sequence(Infoobject request first and the iinfoprovider request as followed by the successful movement of the first one.
The STMS automatically take cares the sequence of trasnporting the objects one by one to the destination system.

Runtime error while collecting objects for activaton from BC

While collecting objects from busines content for installation, it is giving runtime error whith below description.
"UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" "CX_RSD_NAME_ERROR"
"SAPLRSDN_IOBJ" or "LRSDN_IOBJU35"
"RSD_IOBJNM_PARSE"
R3TR     FUGR     RSDN_IOBJ
An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_RSD_NAME_ERROR', was not caught
and
therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:

PCOLL_CONTROL, PCST_TXN,...What are these objects? JBO-28039:Root node for collection

I've a UIX JSP Application with BC4J developed with JDeveloper RC.
I noted that in my schema there are these "strange" db objects:
PCOLL_CONTROL
PCST_MYPACKAGEMODULE_SEQ
PCST_MyPackageModule
PCST_TXN
PCST_TXN_SEQ
Can anyone explain what are they or where can I find documentation about them ?
When and why Jdev create them ?
Beside some people that use my application got the following Error:
"JBO-28039: Root node for collection TXN of id -1 is invalid......".
I think that it's connected with the objects listed above.
Has someone experienced this problem ?

Could you provide more information regarding this issue:
1. When you mention that some people that use your application receive the exception do you mean that the
exception is thrown from the application and displayed to the user or do you mean that the exception is simply logged
in the Diagnostic output? The latter may be expected in some scenarios.
2. Could you provide a full stack trace for the exception?
3. Could you provide the BC4J diagnostic output generated when the exception occurs (specify the VM switch
-Djbo.debugoutput=console at the command line)?

Ok, itunes keeps crashing. Have used disk utility to repair permissions, in regular mode, safe mode, and at start up. None of that worked. Was thinking maybe internet recovery may be my only option.

No object can select when collecting objects for transport

best way to collect objects into transport request is throught RSA1 -> Transport connection.
in Transport connection, you have different options to collect objects into transport request.
In data flow before...
here you can see objects that are already have transport request, package...

[SOLVED]txlive-localmgr: Can't get object for collection langukenglish

Hi,
I just had issues today with tllocalmgr not working at all. Every command hangs with:
[jwhendy]$ tllocalmgr

Can't get object for collection-langukenglish at /usr/bin/tllocalmgr line 103
Line 103 in /usr/bin/tllocalmgr is:
my %tlpackages = $tlpdb->archpackages;
And $tlpdb seems to refer to this line:
my $tlpdb = new TeXLive::Arch (root => $ROOT) || die "cannot read $ROOT/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb"
I tried removing ~/.texlive/texmf-var/arch/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb to see what it would do and it just regenerated one and produced the same issue.
The only google results for collection-langukenglish refer to /usr/share/texmf[-config]/tex/generic/config/language.dat. I checked that file out and commented out all languages except english seeing if that would help. No luck.
Any other thoughts? I'm truly puzzled. I just installed some texlive packages from CTAN within the last week... two at the most. Is this on my end or perhaps with some momentary glitch in CTAN, like being out of sync somehow?

Hmmm. Wonder if it really was the mirror. After a few 'yaourt -R texlive-localmanager' and 'yaourt -S texlive-localmanager' iterations... the problem is gone!

Problem in collecting objects for BI Contents installation

Hi All ,
While collecting objects in BI content i am getting some error. Every time in stus bar the status shows "Destination Check with client ". After this status comes the session logs out automatically and a Error massage come i.e. "PBI error : SAP System error ". and even no log is maintained in slg1.
please help me.

Before collecting the objects, select the proper source sytem (keyboard shortcut is Shift + F7), then collect the objects .. also as suggested you need to check if the RFC connection to your source system is woeking fine ..

The list on page 67 of the 2.0 administration guide appears to be
incomplete. Specifically, I'm interested in knowing how to set
the default delivery policy for a Queue through the jmqobjmgr command.
I need the valid attribute name to pass in to jmqobjmgr.

The "queueDeliveryPolicy" is an attribute of a queue
created in the broker - not in the administered object
destination so that is why you are not seeing that
attribute on the list on page 67.
By default, the broker by will use the "single" queue delivery
policy unless you choose to change the values of the property
"jmq.queue.defaultdeliveryPolicy" to SINGLE, ROUND-ROBIN, or
FAILOVER. If you would like to do this, see the Chapter 4
in the admin guide on "Starting and Configuring the Broker".
It may be easier to set the delivery policy for just one queue.
To do this, you can use the following command:
jmqcmd create dst -n myQueue -t q -o "queueDeliveryPolicy=f"
where valid values to queueDeliveryPolicy is f, s, r.
You can do a 'jmqcmd -H' to get more info on queue attributes or
see Chapter 6 in the admin guide on "Creating and Destroying Destinations".

How to change an OD policy for existing accounts

OS X server 10.4
I set up Open Directory with one of the policies being specification to reset password upon first login.
I then imported a batch of accounts from a unix /etc/passwd file with the standard settings header.
I changed my mind about the reset password policy and made the change in Server Admin.
I also am changing password type from crypt to open directory in the Work Group Manager (WGM) for each user. Upon each change, a new password is prompted for and set.
I now find that accounts created via the import process and had password type changed in WGM, along witha a new password setting, cannot get authorization services, for example ssh login or mail, unless the user logs in at an OS X login screen where they are prompted for a new password as required by the policy when their account was created but after the policy is changed in Server Admin.
1. Are OD Server Admin policy changes only applied to accounts made after a policy change save?
2. How do I change the OD policy for a single account, or perhaps a collection of accounts?

Policies can be set for all users at a site in Server Admin, or they can be set for users in Workgroup Manager. In WGM, the options are in the Advanced tab. Policies set on a specific user generally override those set in Server Admin. When policies are set, they become active for all existing and new users. The option, "password must be reset on first user login" is the exception. It dictates how accounts are created. Once an account is flagged for a password change, it must be unset in WGM. Go to the Advanced tab for the user and click the Options button.

Table creation Error "Ref Count for this object is higher than 0"

I have a problem in creation of table using SDK on a button event. I have a procedure to create tables and fields. If I call this procedure on a menu Event than it works fine but If I call this procedure on a button event than It gives error "Ref count for this object is higher than 0" . I know this error occur When an object does not release after creating a table. but this error occur at when first table is created. My code it given below. plz see and give me your valuable suggestions.

Hi Gorge,
The "Ref count error..." usually occurs in case of Meta Data objects not being properly cleared. And yes, you have got the error in the right place, generally while creating tables / fields / UDOs. For this, you just need to clear the Meta Data object (At times even DI objects like Record Set) once they are used.
Eg: Release these objects in the below way in a Finally Block.
System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(oRecordSet);

need help for finding objects impacted by size change
for xxx infoobject, due to some requirements, the size to be changed from
char(4) to char(10), in the source database tables as well as adjustment
to be done in BI side.
this infoobject xxx is nav attribute of YYY as well as for WWW
infoobjects. and xxx is loaded from infopkg for www infoobject load.
now that i have to prepare an impact analysis doc for BI side.
pls help me with what all could be impacted and what to be done as a
solution to implement the size change.

You will have to manually make the table adjustments in all the systems using SE14 trans since the changes done using SE14 cannot be collected in any TR.
How to adjust tables :
Enter the table name in SE14. For ex for any Z master data(Say ZABCD), master data table name would be /BIC/PZABCD, text table would be /BIC/TZABCD. Similarly any DSO(say ZXYZ) table name would be /BIC/AZXYZ00 etc.
Just enter the table name in SE14 trans --> Edit --> Select the radio button "Save Data" --> Click on Activate & adjust database table.
NOTE : Be very careful in using SE14 trans since there is possibility that the backend table could be deleted.
How to collect the changes in TR:
You can collect only the changes made to the IO --> When you activate, it will ask you for the TR --> Enter the correct package name & create a new TR. If it doesn't prompt you for TR, just goto Extras --> Write transport request from the IO properties Menu screen. Once these IO changes are moved successfully, then the above proceduce can be followed using SE14 trans.
