Instead of an image i get a box with a blue square and white question mark help?

Lately instead of images coming up I have been getting a blank box which in the center has a smaller blue square with a white question mark inside, does anyone have any suggestions. Using safari version 8.0.3 on mac OX X Yosemite 10.10.2

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

If you have installed a new hard drive , you will need to have formatted it in Disk Utility correctly. This may explain your problem.
Boot into your 10.6 Install disk again at the top menubar > Utilities > select Disk utility and in there select your new hard drive, and select the tab Erase and choose to make the format as Mac OS Extended Journaled. When that is finished look in the main window to make sure that the partition map scheme says GUID Partition Table.
Now go to the Restore tab and reinstall from your backup.

The first line appears in a small yellow box with the other line in the body of the page. No other characters, although several of the characters are "highlighted" like they were a link

I am not a Vista user. I am assuming the icons have changed to a firefox icon because you or; some application or other user; have set the default option for those file types to open with firefox.
You will be able to change that in your registry settings but it is far safer to use some other option. I am not sure how to do that in Vista.
RealPlayer.exe is an executable file, that is it is an application presumably a media player, if you try to open it with firefox; whicjch is what happens if you click its firefox icon; it will just give you the options to open or save the file. If you use the open option it may work as intended.

Only get blue scrren and blinking question mark on startup

I have a Macbook 2.16 Intel Core 2 Duo 2gb 80g combo 10.5.
It froze up while I was on the net and I did a forced shut off with the power button. Now when start it up I only get a very light blue(gray?)desktop with a question mark blinking in an icon of a folder.
I do not have a installation CD as this is a laptop had Apple checked out and reinstalled the OS.
Any advice as to what I need to do to recover the OS would be greatly appreciated.

Each computer comes with its own installation disks. Use those. If you don't have them, Apple will provide replacement disks for the machine at a nominal price—call AppleCare and have the serial number available.

Whether or not this solves your problem is unknown, but the flashing question mark indicates a corrupt OS, most likely a result of the forced shutdown.

The question mark in the box, if it looks like this: means that safari cannot find the linked image. On windows machines, this would be the equivilant of the small "page-with-a-red-X" logo that appears in the same scenario. Check the reference to the image and make sure that the image is in the correct location, and is accessable by the reference.

Whenever I close and then reopen firefox all I get is boxes with numbers in them instead of letters or words I have to reboot to get back to regular firefox.

If I leave firefox open and simply minimize everything is fine if I close it and then reopen it even if right away I get the boxes with the numbers instead of letters or numbers.

Try to set the pref gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading to false on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).

Unable to delete photos from my desktop , I get a drop down box with continued blue/ white bars - now 6 hours

Having dragged 8 photos onto my desktop from iphoto for the purpose of easy addition to an email , I now find that when I dragged them to the Trash bin , they fail to delete.
I get a drop down box with continued blue/ white bars , stating "moving to trash " .
It's now 6 hours and I cannot stop either. Tried to shut down my computer and reboot but it won't let me . I tried turning the power off , but the problem remains .
Any help would be welcome.

I was trying to bookmark a page, using the "Choose" menu in the bookmarks. I must have touched a key by accident, and a box with a blue outline & the name of one of my folders appeared in my bookmark drop-down menu. At first the box contained the folder name, then I was trying to delete the box, and erase the name, thinking it might get rid of the box, but it didn't. I can't get rid of this box! It obstructs the view of what is underneath. It stays in the same position as I scroll up & down in the drop-down menu, and it hides what is underneath. Please help me get rid of this box. It is driving me crazy! Thanks!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I just upgraded to ios 6 on my iphone 3gs and I noticed on a couple of incoming emails that the images and information are not being displayed. There is a blue square box with a blue question mark inside. I already tried to press the home key and power key to restart. The email still does not display correctly. I went on my laptop to retrieve that same email and I was able to see the graphics and information, so the problem is on the iphone. I received two emails like this, so I'm missing all the important information. I also tried to retrieve my email through the internet browser and I still have the same problem. Any suggestions? I forgot to mention that I have an Ipad 2 also and I can view the email information on there also. I received an email from Party city and it said to click here to print out the coupon. So I click the coupon and there is the little blue box with the question mark. This is the first time I've seen this happen, as I have printed out the coupons before. If photos are saved they go to the Camera Roll in the Photos App.

If you are running Snow Leopard:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If you are running Lion or later:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. I did a search on my system and found the Photoshop has a fastcore plug-in. Creative Cloud includes a subscription version of CS6 version 13.1.2. I do not know if you installed that or not. The cc un-install may have done something. You may need to use Adobe Cleaner then Install The Perpetual CS6 version of Photoshop CS6 version 13.0.6 Mac or Photoshop CS6 version 13.0.1.3 PC and not the subscription CS6 extended version 13.1.2. Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 If you need to download the CS6 installer Download CS6 products.
You may also be able to recover your cs6 using an old system backup
