  • Help needed with iMessage on multiple devices on one iTunes account

Hi, please can someone help.  I have an iPhone 4S and my wife has an iPhone 4, we are using iMessage with one Apple ID with no problems (I presume as the messages are sent to the phone number), however I have purchased both my daughters an iPod Touch each for Christmas and want to set up iMessage for them so we can all message eachother.  We will all be sharing one iTunes account so can share music / movie / app purchases.  How do I set this up?  Thanks in advance.  Richard

However, when I connected my "fresh" iPad, it immediately started to sync (set to automatic sync), and started to put all my 100 or so iPod Touch apps to my iPad....They were all checked.
It's been a while since I connected a fresh iPad, but I believe that doing a full sync is the default. Stopping the sync and changing what apps you wanted was the correct procedure.
So, next time I connect the iPad, it "knows" which apps need to synced, and does not try to sync "all" apps?
Correct. I do that all the time with my two iPads, each of which have a different set of apps, music, videos, etc.

Our family used to operate under one itunes account.  We now need to have our own.  How do we keep our own downloads for the new accounts?  We have realized now that we are all in the icloud world we have each others downloads on our devices.

    See:

I'd suggest you consider a cloud-based file sharing service such as Dropbox for this sort of use. iOS is not designed to be synched with more than one iTunes library at a time, so attempting to use it as you describe, connecting a single iPad to multiple computers, almost certainly won't work as you intend and is likely to cause nothing but headaches.

  • Need help with many devices and one itunes account!!

I recently purchased each of my kids an Ipod Touch.  They all three are now using my Itunes account which has become a little bit of a problem.  The biggest issue now is with iMessage.  When a friend send a text message or tries to Facetime one of the kids, we all get the message.  They are all using my itunes account user name and password, for apps, music, etc....
What's the best way to seperate the three devices so they aren't all getting the same text messages?  Also, is it best to set up their own user accounts to sync their ipods with itunes?
    Any help would be appreciated.

If you want to use only one AppleID account for multiple devices but seperate imessage, you will have to use different email address to differentiate the device.
I would assume all your devices' imessage are setup under your AppleID email address.
First go to your kid Device's SETTINGS/MESSAGE/RECEIVE AT, Add another email address, type in email address of your kid(you will be asked to enter your Appleid password).  Once done, an email from Apple will be sent to this new email address to verify.  When your kid receive this email, click "Verify Now" link. The new email address now is ready for imessage.
Now go back to the same Device SETTINGS/MESSAGE/RECEIVE AT, go into your original email(your AppleID email) and tap "remove this email".  This will prevent your own imessage to appear on this device.
Do the same for all other devices for other kids.
You don't need to change anything for your own device.
That mean everyone will have an indepedent imessage based on their own email address.
    Hope this explains.

  • My wife and I own an iMac (April 2011) and just recently got iPhones.  We share one iTunes account (mainly for our uploaded music from CD).  Do we each need to have our own iTunes account?  What about iCloud?  We want to utilize the same Calendar/Contacts

    No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

  • HT1203 Can I share one iTunes account for my iPad and two I phones? If so, how can I get the purchased apps and music on all three devices? Do I need a home computer,

Can I share one iTunes account for my iPad and two I phones? If so, how can I get the purchased apps and music on all three devices? How do I sync all the devices to have the same music and apps?

You can set up an iCloud account on each one (the SAME iCloud account using the same AppleID on each) and then sync via iCloud.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262\
However, an iCloud backup nor sync contains purchased content - that is available for redownload from the iTunes and App stores (so no need to waste iCloud space storing it for you).
So, for purchased content, you will have to download it on each device - just use the same AppleID and download each item on each device.
Without a computer to aid the sync'ing, downloading the purchased content on each device is the only way.
P.S  audiobooks cannot be re-downloaded once purchased (all other content can be), so without a computer to save, store and move the audiobook files around, you will only be able to put those on one device - the one you first purchase it on.

  • We have always used one iTunes account and I want to crate a new account for my daughter.  What is the best way to go about this and will she need to download free apps again?

Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.

  • I have just purchased a new macbook and need to sync my iphone with itunes, i understand that you can only sync your phone with one itunes account. I do not want to wipe my iphone when syncing with this new itunes account. Any advice welcome

I have just purchased a new macbook and need to sync my iphone with itunes, i understand that you can only sync your phone with one itunes account. I do not want to wipe my iphone when syncing with this new itunes account. Any advice welcome

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

  • Down payments (One recon account mapping to different special recon account

    Hi,
I'm stuck in configuring special gl indicators for down payments for vendors.
we have one recon account for vendor and there are 6 different gl for downpayments.
but the down payment request takes in only one combination of recon and special gl
    Ex: U - 20000(A/P) -  14100(Prepayment - Rent)
          T - 20000(A/P) -  14102(Prepayment - Asset)
          M - 20000(A/P) -  14104(Marketing)
I was able to configure special gl indicator for down payments but the down payment request "F" is the same for all the special GL (U,T&M)
when the down payment request is made its show one account for all the special Gl indicator but on payment appropriate its posted in correct account.
This was causing lot of confusion to the user. Please suggest  away to get around this.
Secondly there is Accrued Liabilities  accounts how this should handled.
    Thanks for your support

  • Need help in setting up PSTN to VOIP gateway with only one VOIP account.

    Hi!
I am having hard time configuring SPA 3102 for # 3 and # 4 in following requirement list. I have only one VOIP account and my provider does not support simultaneous registrations even on different port. So I want to setup gateway without PSTN line being registered, so only Line 1 is registered with a VSP.
    1. POT terminal can dial out using PSTN or VOIP based on dialplan. Done!
    2. POT terminal can receive call from VOIP. Done!
    3. If a call is received at PSTN line then it should be dealt as gateway call if from particular number, otherwise it is sent to POT Terminal.
    4. If the call is not attended thru POT Terminal then it should be redirected to a particular number using VOIP after certain number of rings.
    Regards,
    Babar.

    #3
i think that it is not possible,
    - the default bahaviour of the SPA3102 is to recieve the call from the PSTN line, forward it to the phone connected to the FXS port.
    - if there is no answer on the FXS it is then forwarded to a certain number via voip or given a second dial tone.
    #4
This is functioning ans is the default scenario.,
register the PSTN line the same as the Line 1.
set the register to " NO"
make call without register to "NO"
ans call without regsiter to "NO"
    - if you need to forward that to a voip number of your choice
set the PSTN To VOIP dial plan to 2 and change the dial plan on the PSTN line to S0 < : target phone number >

  • How do i get itunes or any other program for ipod to play one song and then stop instead of contiuing playing. I need it to be in the same playlist and ready to play the next song when I press play?

how do i get itunes or any other program for ipod to play one song and then stop instead of contiuing playing. I need it to be in the same playlist and ready to play the next song when I press play?

Good luck.  I tried to do this to cue sound effects for a theater, and never found anything.  iTunes will definitely *not* do this, nor was I able to find any player that would play one song at a time in a single playlist.
In my case, I ended up using AutoHotkey to tie individual tracks to the keys on an external keypad. This was an excellent solution for my problem, but I don't think AHK runs on Macs.
One workaround is to make a folder, and fill it with *shortcuts* to the songs you want (ie, the actual files).  You can change the names to start with numbers to get them in the right order.  Then if you double-click on one it will play just that song.  You'll still have to double-click on each song.
Might be a good time to learn AppleScript   It would  also be pretty easy to write a Java app to do this.
