Instering MPEG-4 video

I am new to Dreamweaver and have been teaching myself basic functions in order to update our webiste.  However, one thing I just can not figure out is what I need to do to upload/insert a MPEG-4 video to the site.
MPEG-4 is not an option in the "Insert ---> Media" section, but I found the file under the "Insert ---> Shockwave" but when I tried to insert the video, nothing showed up on the page.
I am sure this is a very simple task, but can someone please advise on this matter?
Thank you!

Handbrake includes a universal setting which makes the video compatible with the iPhone/iPod, Apple TV, and with iTunes on your computer. It also includes an iPhone/iPod compatible setting.

  • To Decode and play  MPEG-2 Video files with JMF

    Hi ALL,
I amin serious trouble with a problem. I am developing a Simulator, a function of which is to decode MPEG-2 Video files in real time and play it as well.I have got a MPEG-2 Decoder implemented in C from an open source and need to integrate with my Simulator which is writtebn in Java. The integration part I am doing via JNI(Java Native Interface). Now I have a bunch of C files in MPEG-2 decoder which are to be compiled during the Execution of the Java Simulator. Can anybody give some idea about how to call multiple C files from the Java Source through JNI at one go? Another problem I am facing is in calling a single C code from the traditional "HelloWorld" Java Code itself. The problem comes when I am trying to compile the shared library between the C native code and Java Code in my Linux Machine...I am getting the following message:
    /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/.../../../crt1.0 : In function '_start' :
    /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/.../../../crt1.0(.text+0x18): undefined reference to 'main'

  • Windows Vista User upgraded to iTunes 7.7 and now MPEG-4 videos won't play

I'm a windows vista user, and I just updated to iTunes 7.7 with Quicktime.
Prior to the update all my videos & related codecs files worked just fine(e.g., MPEG-4 and H.264 codecs).
However, since the Quicktime & iTunes 7.7 update, now only videos coded as H.264 will play correctly and MPEG-4 video files only have sound but no video picture.
Any suggested on how to fix this issue is greatly appreciated.

  • MPEG-2 Video Linear PCM Timecode no longer working in FCP7

I edit daily with Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 on my MacBook Pro. I have several projects in which I imported files from an MR HD-100 hard drive. Not only did I successfully edit several projects, but I could open the individual files in QuickTime. They are 1280 x 720 MPEG-2 Video, Linear PCM, Timecode HD (1-1-1) files. Now suddenly they will not open. All I get is a white screen in Final Cut. Even the old finished projects I open in Final Cut show a white screen where this footage used to be. When I try to open one of the files in QuickTime I get the message, "An invalid public movie atom was found in the movie." I have not needed any type of conversion to make these files compatible before. They just worked. Any ideas as to why they suddenly won't work now?

I finally had time yesterday and today to tackle this problem. I read the link you sent and jedi knights had the solution if you had access to a mac still running 10.6.7 which I did not. So.....I bought a 32gb flash, intalled osx 10.6.3 from my disc, reinsalled QT7, did the 10.6.7 update, installed FCP7 so the codecs would load into QT and then transferred the one file (System/Library/QuickTimeComponents.component/Contents/MacOS/QuickTime Components) onto my laptop. ALL IS NOW RIGHT WITH THE WORLD!
    Thank you for your help.

  • I have iMovie '11, and I am unable to access mpeg HD video files that I want to edit.  The files are fine (I can open and watch them using VLC), but I cannot seem to import the files into iMovie. File Import does not work.  Any suggestions??

More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder.  I would like to edit these into a single video production.  I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them).  However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work?  Or are these files incompatible with iMovie?  If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro).  Suggestions???
Many thanks in advance for your time and consideration

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time  from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation?  Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.
        Thanks

  • How can I get MPEG-2 video into Final Cut Pro X?

Hello!  I have several MPEG-2 video files on which I need to perform some edits.  When I tried to import them into Final Cut Pro, I learned that Final Cut Pro can't import MPEG files.  Okay, so I went into QuickTime and exported one as 720p.  20 minutes later, I had a video that I could load in FCP.  Awesome.  Except that when I watched the video, the audio was waaaaaaaay out of sync.  So, is there a different way I could get this MPEG-2 video into a format that FCP will like while keeping video and audio together?
I would keep trying a few different things without direction, but these videos are like 90 minutes long and the conversion process is lengthy.
    Thanks!

Although I looked up the equipment, I couldn't find what kind of MPEG2. I'm assuming program stream.
I don't know why you had the sync problem with QT. You could bring it into FCP and detach the audio and manually line it up it's off by a constant amount.
Or you can use MEG Streamclip. You will also need the playback component, which is $20. Follow the instructions on the Squared 5 site to install it. Streamclip is worth having even if you don't use it this time around.
    Good luck.

  • ITunes refuses to import mpeg-4 videos

I have a few mpeg-4 video clips on my computer that I want on my ipod. iTunes refuses to import them. I've tried file>add folder to library, file>add file to library and attempting to add them individually, I've tried dragging and dropping, again as a group and individually.
All methods give the same result: a dialog window with the progress bar. It scrolls through the names quickly, the progress bar gets to less than 10% before the dialog box disappears and there are no new videos in itunes at all.
    How do I fix this?

Sounds like you've got a setting wrong . . . Videodora is temperamental at best, you may want to go to iLounge go through the step by step tutorial they've got up.
    Good luck!

  • Import MPEG-2 video into PhotoShop CS6

Does anyone know why I can not import MPEG-2 video file into PH CS 6?

    Hi there -
Do you have any other Adobe programs installed? Photoshop CS6 can only open MPEG-2 video files if a decoder is installed, such as Premiere Pro or After Effects.
See this Adobe Help article for more information about supported files types in Photoshop CS6: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/supported-file-formats-photoshop-cs6.html
EDIT: Here is an extremeley technical post about this issue - http://forums.adobe.com/message/4700873

  • My executable has kind "MPEG-1 Video" in Finder... how to change?

    Hi,
i have a unix executable (small command line program) that is compiled under Mac OS X. However, the Finder thinks it is an MPEG-1 Video (as displayed in the "Kind" field). So, whenever, I launch the application, OS X first opens QuickTime in an attempt to "open" it, and only after that it launches the program (which runs fine by the way). This is a bit annoying. How do I tell the system that the file is an executable? With apple+I and "Open with..." I can change the program responsible for opening the file, but there is no way to tell him that the file is actually a working exectutable! Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Timur

Yes, the file is "stereo2", "timur" is my username:
    -rwxr--r--@ 1 timur staff 1275436 13 Oct 10:59 stereo2
I had to add the 'x' by doing "chmod u+x" in the shell to be able to execute the file.
By now I suspect where the problem may be, since other files with other filetypes with the same problem appeared. This file was e-mailed to me. (I am using Thunderbird.) In the last days, ALL files that were sent to me as an e-mail attachment, have been erroneously marked as "MPEG-1 Video" data type and treated as QuickTime movies by the system. Some of these attachments are textfiles in reality. So it might be something with Thunderbird or the e-mail server. Very strange though. At least for the textfiles it is easy to fix with the "Open with:" option.

  • Album/playlist downloaded from iTunes includes mpeg-4 video file?

I have downloaded from iTunes an album that includes an mpeg-4 video file?  What is the best medium CD or DVD and format for burning the playlist?  Assume it could be played on a CD player (for sound only) or a DVD player.

Handbrake includes a universal setting which makes the video compatible with the iPhone/iPod, Apple TV, and with iTunes on your computer. It also includes an iPhone/iPod compatible setting.

  • Synching audio problem with MPEG-4 video in QuickTime

    Hello,
I’m having a problem with MPEG-4 video file I created with TechSmith Camtasia (6.0.1).
Problem: The audio does not sync up with the video when played with Apple QuickTime 7.6 (latest build) in Windows Vista. The longer the video plays the more out of sync the audio is. Here's where it gets interesting:
When I play the file using Adobe Media Player or Adobe Flash Player (plug-in in Internet Explorer), the video and audio sync up and all is good.
Is there a problem with how Quicktime decompresses this type of file?
Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
    Thanks,
    Leo

If I remember well, N70 plays mp4 video without problems. Try resizing during encoding to 176 x 144 and reducing frame rate to 15 frames per second. Also try to keep data rate below 200 kb/s. If you are using MediaCoder do not go with default settings for Nokia N70, they are too optimistic.

  • Upgrading to iTunes 10.6.0.40 imports MPEG-4 movie files as "QuickTime movie file" not "MPEG-4 Video file"

Recently updated itunes to 10.6 and since then adding any new MPEG-4 Video file itunes is flagging as QuickTime.
This creates an issue since my Apple TV doesn't recognize these types of files in iTunes.
To validate it's the itune upgrade, previous "MPEG-4 Video file" entries added and played on Apple-TV were imported an now show as "QuickTime Video file"
    Thx

This problem has been resolved after the ATV update was received.
The ATV now recognizes the videos marked in itunes as Quick time eventhough they are Mpeg-4 video files.

  • After I upgraded to Mavericks, Quicktime has had to convert MPEG-4 videos to .mov

After I upgraded to Mavericks, Quicktime has had to convert MPEG-4 videos to .mov.... Why? Is there a way to stop that or to change the settings?

After I upgraded to Mavericks, Quicktime has had to convert MPEG-4 videos to .mov.... Why? Is there a way to stop that or to change the settings?
Your question requires more information. What does MPEG-4 mean to you? What file container and which compression formats are you referring to here? Is the MPEG-4 content "standard" or proprietary. Basically, depending on the file container and the specific content, QT X v10.3 may initiate a conversion ever where the individual data tracks are fully QT compatible. Proprietary compression formats will definitely do this. In some cases, the audio or video in one source container may simply be passed through to the MOV file while in another source container, QT X v10.3 forces a conversion of that same data track. In short, there are too many variables at this point to properly answer your question or attempt to duplicate your workflow.
