Instillation error with no explanation/code

I am trying to install various creative cloud apps on a PC.  Some of them are downloading, others are not.  I have a good internet connection.  I looked on the trouble shooting website and it says all the errors should have codes/numbers associated with them, but mine does not.

  • Console error with GUI , return code -17

    Hi All,
    I have just finished the Installation of SAP IDES 4.7. Installation was sucessful, after that I Installed GUI 640. But when we are starting the Console it is starting without any error which also shows WP table details in run mode. When we logon to gui, console becomes "Yellow" and dispatch process stop with a return code -17.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi Kaushal,
    Thanks for ur reply. Actually when we started the installation process, and GUI, we have not provide the loopback adapter in the Primary DNS, but Loopback Adapter was properly configured with IP.
    Later on we realised and added the 127.0.0.1 in the Primary DNS. But its still not working.
    The Log which u have asked for is attached.

    Would appreciate help, Thank you again.

    Here's something that might help:
    (Example 1)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/u_file.htm
    You need to:
    1. Create a directory:
    CREATE DIRECTORY EXAMPLE_DIR AS '<OS_DIR_PATH>';
    Eg: CREATE DIRECTORY EXAMPLE_DIR AS '/temp';
    2. Reference the previously created directory:
    v_out_file := utl_file.fopen ('EXAMPLE_DIR', 'filename.extension', 'W');
    My guess is that r_dca.directory_name does not point to a directory object (Step 1) but to an absolute OS path.
    Also make sure you grant the appropriate rights on you directory:
    Eg:
    GRANT READ ON DIRECTORY EXAMPLE_DIR to <your_user>;

  • Trapping sync errors with eVB sync code??

    Hi,
    Is there any way to 'trap' errors that occur when syncing from within an app that is using the sample eVB sync code?
    I'm talking about displaying the same type of error messages msync shows when an error occurs.
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
    The best answer I've come up with so far is to look at what gets written in the file \syncerr.txt on the device, then delete it, so that after the next sync you know that all the errors in the file relate to that sync.
    I haven't implemented this in practice yet, it's just my best guess and I'm putting off doing it until later in my project.
    Does anyone from Oracle have a better answer?
    At the moment, I'm trapping the fact that the sync didn't work using this code:
    On Error Resume Next
    Dim mySync As MSync.sync
    ' Omitted stuff to set up sync parameters etc
    mySync.Sync
    If (Err.Number <> 0) Then
    MsgBox "Sync failed!"
    Else
    MsgBox "Sync completed!"
    End If
    But this doesn't tell me why, hence the theory of looking in \syncerr.txt

  • CS5 Reports error with Google Javascript Code

    I beleive I have found a bug in the Dreamweaver CS5 code syntax system,
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/jsapi?key=<?=GOOGLEAPIKEY;?>"></script>
    This line generates an error in dreamweaver "There is a syntax on line x. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error." but there is no error!
    Infact I found that mixing php with javascript in anyway causes this error to appear anyone else have the problem? How can I resolve it?
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/jsapi?key=<? echo "test";?>"></script>
    generates the error as well!
    In my experience it is happening with dreamweaver templates, the error doesn't show in the template file but any file using the template does.

    Nope, sorry PZ,
    I'm using the PHP Include from the DW CS5 menu and I get the error message as soon as I insert it.

  • 10g Upgrade - XML Parser errors with certain escape codes (&#x0338)

    NLS_CHARACTERSET = WE8ISO8859P15
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET = AL16UTF16
    Since our 10.2.0.3.0 upgrade (from 9.2.0.1.0) our xml fails with the following message:
    ORA-31011: XML parsing failed
    ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
    LPX-00217: invalid character 824 (U+0338)
    Error at line 4
    We are using escape codes in our xml that have worked fine on 9i. Example xml:
    <PRINT_LAYOUT_FOOTER>&#x0338;&#x0338;&#x0338;&#x0338;This map was created with Promap</PRINT_LAYOUT_FOOTER>
    I am completely flummoxed - Any ideas?

    You've switched from a Java Based Parser to a 'C' based parser, which is much, much faster. However one of the requirements of the 'C' implementation is that all characters in the database character set. I'm guessing that if you switch to AL32UTF8 for the database character set the problem will go away. BTW 9.2.0.1.0 was desupported for XML related features when 9.2.0.3.0 was released.

    Hi Swati,
    It seems this error would come if there is some configuration issues. The detailed explanation and the same error is given in this thread:
    CREATE_SESSION of programCL_SAM_BSP_SESSION_LAUNCHER "COMMUNICATION ERROR".
    If this doesnot solve your issue then please try to post in this forums for faster response. As mark mentioned this is the wrong forum for this issue.

  • Error with sapstartsrv return code -1

    Hello, i'm trying to install the preview and on step 2 it fails registering sapstartsrv, the error message is the following:
    Execution of the command "C:\usr\sap\J2E\SCS01\exe\sapstartsrv.exe -r -q -p C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\profile\START_SCS01_WRODRIGUEZ -s J2E -n 01 -U WRODRIGUEZ\SAPServiceJ2E -P ******** -e WRODRIGUEZ\j2eadm" finished with return code -1. Output: Cannot register COM interface.
    if i check window's event viewer, i see:
    Cannot open Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP\J2E\Environment (Error 2 ENOENT*: No such file or directory OR: The system cannot find the file specified. ) [ntservmgr.cpp 264]
    So i create those in the registry manually and still not working.
    The WEIRDEST thing is that everytime i restart my computer i can see sapstartsrv service running...
    PLEASE, can someone help??
    thanks in advance.

    sorry, something i forgot to say, when i go to control panel->event viewer, i can see the following error:
    Cannot open Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIE\Software\SAP\J2E\Environment
    I check the registry and i can see that the key doesn't exist, i create it manually and nothing happens, it keeps giving the same error. The thing is that i think installation program cannot create the key.  I followed instructions from the post:
    WAS 6.40 installation "sapstartsrv.exe' returned with '-1'."
    And it didn't work for me.
    Please, does anyone have any insight on this? i'd really like to install the preview...
    thanks in advance

  • 500 error with no JSP code

    I'm using Orion as my server. I've got an app with a couple of JSP's. One JSP is welcome.jsp and runs JSP code fine. The other is navigation.jsp and it doesn't have ANY JSP code at all, but it still produces an internal 500 error when I browse to it....
    Any suggestions?

    A 500 error code usually indicates that there was some problem with the server itself. For example, Tomcat will report 500 if it is unable to find the Java compiler it needs.
    I'm not at all familiar with Orion, and never heard of it before today, but you may want to see if they included some sample JSP code, and if so, test to see if that code works. You might also double check that you've followed all of the instructions they set forth. In particular, pay attention to where to find error messages (usually in a log file).
    One potential gotcha that seems to plague lots of developers is spaces in file names. If you installed Orion in something other than the default directory, and your preferred directory has a space somewhere in the path name, it's possible that the Orion developers didn't take that into account and as a result, some of their stuff works correctly and some doesn't.

  • Getting Error with the C++ code

    I have a function in C++ which accepts a "jstring". And if i write the below line of code it gives me error.
    jsprData -> is the jstring INPUT
    char sprData = (env)->GetStringUTFChars(env, jsprData, 0);
    But the same thing if i write in a "C Code" and build a DLL then it is working fine.
    Why so ? Is there any different way to write a code to convert "jstring" to "char *" in C++ ?
    Please do reply me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Patro

    When you are using JNI from inside C++ use the wrappers such as JNIEnv, JavaVM instead of the C style calls. I wrote win32 dlls using the invocation API from C++ code and everything gets compiled without a hitch.
    Here is a code example method that returns Java exceptions as CString objects:
    CYourClassName::GetJavaException(jthrowable exObject)
        CString csExMessage;
        if ( exObject != NULL )
            mp_Env->ExceptionDescribe();
            jclass cls = mp_Env->FindClass ("java/lang/Throwable"); // check for cls to be NULL
            jmethodID method = mp_Env->GetMethodID ( cls,"toString", "()Ljava/lang/String;");
            jstring exMsg = (jstring) mp_Env->CallObjectMethod ( exObject, method ); // Check for NULL
            const char* ps = mp_Env->GetStringUTFChars ( exMsg, NULL);
            csExMessage.Format( "%s\n", ps );
            mp_Env->ReleaseStringUTFChars ( exMsg, ps );
        return csExMessage;
    And in your .h file declare a member variable as:
        JNIEnv* mp_Env;
    Also, do not forget to initialize mp_Env properly at the beginning. You could use something like this:
        jint ret = JNI_CreateJavaVM(&mp_Jvm, (void **)&mp_Env, &vm_args);
    This code compiles and runs.
    Hope this helps.

    Here are the answers
      Eastern CT State University is no longer in the iTunes U directory .    r
    The have not migrated their site to iTunes U Public Site Manager. Starting June 2010 we notified all iTunes U site administrators for any site in the iTunes store that they would need to migrate their existing site to iTunes U Public Site Manager in the future. In Feb. 2011 we notified them that the deadline for migration would be April 2011 and that if they had not migrated their site would no longer appear on the list.
    For Eastern CT State University to return to the list, they just need to transition over to an iTunes U Public Site Manager based site. Information on how to do so can be found here -http://deimos.apple.com/rsrc/doc/UsingiTunesUPublicSiteManager/CommonQuestions/c hapter_14_section_2.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/iTUPSM-CH5-SW2

    Nick Good ?uestion!
    I am the New Admin for The University of New Orleans, and after reading the response to your initial question I think we fall into the category of needing to migrate to Public site manager. But looking at the tutorial which is mainly text, I cannot follow the instructions. Do you have a screen shot of what step two because I cannot find the " iTunes U Public Site Manager in the Tools area."
    Thank you!

  • How do you carry out an event if a job finishes with a return code 4?

    Hi
    A job which would complete successfully in SAP via the SM36 scheduler completes with an 'Error' in Redwood CPS because there are errors within the spool and it ends with a return code 4.
    We don't want this to error in Redwood CPS, so we have set the return code mapping to Completed with entries of 0 and 4.
    I.e. whether or not there is an error in the spool, the job will complete successfully in Redwood CPS.
    However, we want to be alerted if there are errors in the spool.
    How do we do this? The manual says "A job can raise one or more events when the job gets a specific job status or return code" - where is this set? I can see on the 'Event' tab of a job definition you can raise an Event when the job enters a specific status, but I only want to raise an event (or carry out a step / send an email etc) if I get a return code 4 (none of the job statuses are relevant) - how can I do this?
    Thanks
    Ross

    Hi Anton
    Thanks for that. However, it's a bit more complicated...
    I have a job chain with 2 steps. Any one of the two steps can have an error in the spool which by default in Redwood CPS result in the job ending in status Error. I don't want this, as the second step should still run if the first step ran okay with with errors in the spool (but shouldn't run at all if the 1st step fails completely). I.e. setting 'on Error goto step 2' or having no dependancy at all is not what we want.
    Therefore, I set the return code mapping on Completed to return codes 0 and 4. I.e. if step 1 has an error in the spool (return code 4) it still ends as 'Completed' and step 2 runs.
    Our problem is that we want to be alerted if there is a return code 4 (error in the spool). I tried as you suggested by entering on the 'Raise Event' tab of the job chain to raise an event on status 'Error' with a return code of 4. But no event was raised. I think this is because the return code mapping is setting the status to 'Completed' (on return code 0 or 4) BEFORE the software checks the status; i.e. the status is actually 'Completed' (rc=4) and not 'Error' (rc=4) so an event is not raised.
    Ideally I want to set the Event to be raised on status 'Completed' with a return code 4 - but when I select 'Completed' the 'Error Code' box is greyed out.
    I.e. can't set this - I can only set on a generic 'Completed' and I don't want to raise a message if the status is Completed but the return code is 0....
    Any ideas??

  • Compilation errors with JDeveloper 10.1.2.2.0

    Hello,
    I want to change my environment work. First I worked with Eclipse (Europa, jre 1.6), I have no error with my following code source :
    private List<String> lString;
    and now I have a compilation error with the same code
    ' Error(43,14): <identifier> expected '
    I think it's a compiler version problem but I'm not sure and I don't know how to change the compiler version.
    If someone have any idea, I will be happy to receive response.
    Thanks

    JDeveloper 10.1.2.2.0 doesn't support neither JDK 1.6 nor JDK 1.5.

  • Error with intersects function

    I've an error I don't understand the cause.(it worked before the SDK update)
    Here is my code :
         * Permet de vérifier que l'évênement passé en paramètre n'en chavauche aucun autre
        function detectCollision(guiEvent: DayEvent) {
            // On sélectionne tous les évênements affichés sauf celui pour lequel on test les limites
            for (e in app_events.displayedEvents.content[p | p.id != guiEvent.id]) {
                if (e.intersects(guiEvent.boundsInLocal.minX, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.minY+5, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.width, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.height-10) == true) {
                    guiEvent.guiEvent.stroke = Color.RED;
                    collisionsDetected = true;
                    break;
                } else {
                    guiEvent.guiEvent.stroke = Color.rgb(77,130,178);
                    collisionsDetected = false;
        }"DayEvent" is a Group...("e" too)
    The error is:
    "An internal error has occurred in the OpenJFX compiler."

    This is helpful... :-)
    I can reproduce the error with the simple code:
    var app_events: Node[];
    var collisionsDetected: Boolean;
    function detectCollision(guiEvent: Group) {
      for (e in app_events[p | p.visible]) {
        if (e.intersects(guiEvent.boundsInLocal.minX, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.minY+5, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.width, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.height-10) == true) {
          collisionsDetected = true;
          break;
        } else {
          collisionsDetected = false;
    }I suggest you report the bug to Jira / Kenai with the above code. If you don't want or cannot, just tell, I will do.
    *[EDIT]* I went ahead, since I could reproduce it, and made the bug [http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/JFXC-3283]
    As guessed from the cryptic error, the problem comes from the break instruction. So a workaround is not to use it! :-) Or to change the instructions. Maybe the compiler thinks that break is supposed to be a value (implicit return).
    A possible solution is:
    function detectCollision(guiEvent: Group) {
      for (e in app_events[p | p.visible]) {
        collisionsDetected = e.intersects(
            guiEvent.boundsInLocal.minX, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.minY+5,
            guiEvent.boundsInLocal.width, guiEvent.boundsInLocal.height-10);
        if (collisionsDetected) break;
    }Simple, elegant (in my eye!) and compiling...
    A less breaking solution (ie. with minimal change to your code) is to say your function returns nothing: function detectCollision(guiEvent: DayEvent): Void
    Another, perhaps better, is to return true or false instead of changing some global variable.
    The compiler tries hard to guess the types, but sometime it fails and behaves badly or even crashes...
