Institutional Letterhead & Envelope Template

I'm trying to figure out how to set up a Pages template to accommodate my educational institution's letterhead. So far, I've not had any trouble setting up the first page with the correct margins:
top: 2.75 in.
left: 1 in.
right: 1.25 in.
bottom: 1 in.
The problem is that I want to create a page with the top margin increased to 1 in. that can I can capture as well as a #10 envelope. I can't quite figure out how to get the right combo of section and layout breaks to kick in so that I can mix and match the page sizes and margins in one document.
Maybe this isn't possible? (I notice that when I create a new document using Pages built-in business letter template, there are no additional pages that I can insert into the layout....)

The answer to my question is: no. There's no way to combine layouts in Pages. This is something that I CAN do in MSWord and would be worth bringing into Pages.

  • Envelope Template Problem

Hello. I'm trying to print an envelope template (with return address), just like in Appleworks.
But for all the templates I've tried, if the 'send to' address goes on longer than the template allows, a 'second envelope' is generated on the screen.
How do I create an envelope template that allows greater flexibility in addressing-length?
    Thanks.

I tried four or five templates at random, and the issue occurred with them all. Easiest way to replicate this is to go to the end of the last line of the 'send address' on a template ('Dublin,' for example). Then keep hitting Return. If the glitch is there, after about ten Return's you can scroll up and you'll see two or three 'envelopes.'

  • How to shift text within an envelope template

    Hello,
I have created an envelope template to mail out some thank you notes. The envelope size is smaller than the average business envelope (3.75 x 5" vs. the standard business). Naturally, I went in to page setup and created a custom size for this template. I ran into trouble when I saw that the recipient's name and address blocks are too far shifted to the right. They run off the page and forces many other pages to be created as a result.
How can I shift the text back to the left? I, like many other smart users, have shifted to the iwork suite recently and I am having a little trouble assimilating. I tried to highlight the text and click the downward triangle, but the triangle will only shift right, and not left.
I skimmed through other posts and couldn't find anything similar to my situation. Thank you for your help.

Yes, I actually haven't thought of that yet. However, I'm attempting to merge my contacts within address book.
I feel like it shouldn't take any drastic change in my document. I guess if all else fails, I'll resort to looking for that merge widget.

  • Why is the print area on all envelope templates more than 1/2 an inch from the left side of the envelope.. ? Can this be fixed or changed.. ?

Why is the print area on all envelope templates more than 1/2 inch from the left side of the envelope.. ? Can this be fixed or changed.. ?
I have pages 09 version 4.1... It is a small aggravation.. The left 3 or 4 characters on the return address would not print until I realized that by clicking on
    " View " & " Show Lay-Out " that it was out side the printable range ...

It seems to be a Pages template  " Print range " issue..  Both the Epson and the HP printers were doing it and it was today that I realized why..  !!
When I move it to where it will print there is large gap on the left margin of the return address..  Just wondering if anyone else knew about this.. ? My Pages is ' 09 ' version 4.1...

  • Do all envelope templates meet postal regulations?

Take the Modern Photographer Envelope Template, for example. I want to use this template, but the picture pushes the return address down the side of the envelope. Will it meet US postal regulations? It looks completely wrong but I wouldn't think Apple would release it if it wouldn't mail correctly.
There are others, too. Like the Typewriter envelope, Woodland envelope, etc.

Apple is a global company. The templates are sized to 2 standards, the ISO world standard and the tiny minority in the USA that uses its own widely varying non-metric sizes.
It will be a simple matter of you testing what is in your template against the US Post Office's requirements. If they don't match, then make the necessary adjustments which is only a matter of repositioning the text box, not that difficult.

  • Security Envelope Template

    Hi,
I'm still working my way through Acrobat 9 Classroom in a Book and am stumped on a portion of the Security Envelope Template.
When I select how I want to deliver the envelope, there's a popup that states, "The envelope template selected has form fields that have not been filled in. Are you sure you want to email this envelope without filling them in?"
How do I fill there template in? There is no option... nothing opens to be filled in as I would expect. Or, am I supposed to modify the template before I even start the process of sending a security envelope? I noticed after I sent it that the "From" portion is automatically filled in with my email address, but the "To" is blank and the postmark date and time are wrong.
Any help is appreciated. It seems like a good feature and I just used it again to send some sensitive information to my sister.
    Thanks.

I found the problem... I selected to "Send the envelope now" instead of "Send the envelope later," so after I finished entering the password security settings, the email client opened. If I select "Send the envelope later," then the template opens up and then I can enter the recipient information. However, is there a way to correct the date stamp so that it shows the correct time? Instead of 9:34 p.m. 5/31/10 it shows 6/1/2010 1:32 a.m.
Now I just tried a Stamp for the first time, and the date on the stamp is correct. So I don't understand why there's a disparity between the date stamp on the Security Envelope and the date stamp on the Stamp feature.

  • How can I print an envelope from the template Cards and Invitations on my HP Laserjet P2015?

I have been trying to print an envelope in Pages 09 on my mac from the template called Cards and Invitations. I select a template that is 5.75 x 8.75 inches. When I go to print this envelope with my HP Laserjet P2015 and correctly load it as the manual says, using tray 1, etc., the envelope does not print correctly. The preview shows the correct orientation, but it doesn't print correctly. I have seen that many others have requested information about printing in Pages. Has this situation been corrected yet? The #10 envelope template under Business forms in the template section, works fine. My printer supports envelopes of various sizes, so it must be something in the software for Pages that is the problem. Perhaps you can enlighten me on this problem. Thanks,

Perhaps you can enlighten us as to what "does not print correctly" actually means.
    Miss-spells your name? or what?
How have you set up your Page set-up?
It has to agree with how you are feeding the envelope in and what printer driver you are using.

  • How can I Setup a template for Envelope 6.5 x 3.5 inches in Pages 5.2.2

I am vexed by a problem printing a smaller envelope from pages. If I take the Pages # 10 envelope template, it prints properly. If I go to page setup for the # 10 template and change the  dimensions to W 6.5 and H 3.5 inches it prints across the envelope whether I have it in the portrait or landscape setting. Only difference is in the portrait setting it wraps the print at the end of the page. In Portrait setup it previews with the envelope vertical and the print across. If I go to landscape it previews properly but prints across the envelope. I tried reversing the order of the H and W dimensions and it still doesn't work.  I have pages 5.2.2 and Epson printer 3520

Set up as facing A4 landscape pages. In Print Booklet you would need to set the page size to A2 and set the positioning to centered in the printer setup dialog. In thory I suppose it should be possible to print two-up, but the only way I can think of to make that happen would be to set up a new A3 portrait facing pages file and place the A4 into it twice (use Scott Zanelli's script from InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Zanelli Releases MultiPageImporter for Importing both PDF and INDD Files), then use print bookle on that file.
The bigger question in my mind is do you have a printer that can use A2 sheets? Id yo are sending this out, le the printer do the imposition from a your A4 file exported normally as sequential single pages as PDF.

  • Pages-when using template for envelopes can you import names/address from address book

When using templates for envelopes can you import names/address from the address book?

Drag the VCard from Address Book onto the open envelope template.
If you want mutiple addresses make a Group of those in Address Book and drag the Group icon onto the Pages template.

  • I'm trying to type wedding invitation envelopes which are 5x7 and I don't know how to create the format.  In the pages area, the available templates are all standard envelope sizes.  How do I create the 5x7 format template

I'm trying to print 5X& envelopes.  In pages, the templates are all standard sized.  How do I create a 5x7 envelope template so I can merge my addresses?

I presume you are using the Pages application, is that correct?
So start off by launching Pages and choose one of the regular envelope styles. Traditional works well for me.
Next go to the File menu and select Page setup. From the menu that says Paper Size select Manage Custom Sizes. In the resulting dialog, there should be a button on the left labeled "+". Click it. In the Paper Size area, select Width 5 in and Height 7 in. Name the size (where it says "untitled" something descriptive like "5 x 7 envelope". Click the OK button. The Paper Size menu here should now say the description you gave it. Click OK again. Your work area should now be a 5 x 7 envelope.
    Best of luck.
PS If you are using Word or some other program, the process is probably the same or very similar.

  • How do I create envelopes in Pages using Numbers as the source?

I've done this successfully before back in 2011 when I was sending out Holiday Cards.  Now I go in there today looking to use the same envelope template and an updated (not everybody lives in the same location) Numbers spreadsheet and I keep getting..."Please select a numbers document that has one or more named header columns and one or more rows of data".  The numbers file has 6 header columns (FN, LN, Address, City, State & Zip) and 77 rows of data.  I've tried to recreate the file under a different name, I've deleted and reinserted the header columns, etc and nothing has worked.  I'm now at the point where I'm toying with the idea of pulling the plug on the Holiday Card all together unless somebody could save the day.  PS...their is a holiday card in it for you
    Please help..

Fair enough...it sounds like the Holiday cards will be put on pause until 2014.
On a different note, I'm noticing all sorts of issues with the OS...are you finding that Mavericks is less stable than prior versions of the OS?  The entire reason I went away from Windows based PC's was because of the instability of the OS and now I'm finding that the stability of the Apple OS is starting to follow the same path.
    Thoughts?
