Instllation EBS R12 on lunix enterprise vmware
hey everyone
i need to know how to make vm contain linux and install oracle ebs R 12 on it .
i have oracle linux and source of ebs R 12 and my Os is win 7 ultimate 64bit my lap is hp probook i5 8 giga ram and i made a partion 295 giga to install vmware .
thanks hussien but i just need information i tried to get it from vmware site but i couldn't get it and it's about required space for installation i made a partion 295 giga and i put source of ebs and linux in another partion i need to know 295 giga will be enough or not and i will make partion compressed i ask this question because i gone with my lap to my friend and he is DBA and he made vm then stop at the beging of EBS setup and i back home it take about 2 hours and stoped because no more free space in partion but this time i tried to install it with 245 giga only and source of ebs also in same partion but i couldn't see it from windows soo i need to know 295 will be enough or i must make new partion for it .The total space required for a standard system (not including the stage area) is 85 GB for a fresh install with a production database, and 233 GB for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database.
Running Rapid Install from a stage area requires at least 47 GB to accommodate the file system and database files in the stage area.
So, you need almost a total of 150 GB for fresh database (including stage area directory) and almost a total of 290 GB for Vision Demo database (including stage area directory).

I have newly installed EBS R12 on Oracle Enterprise Linux (on my windows 7 machine i have installed VM Ware Server 2) and then installed this
i have also run the /home/junaid/PROD/db/tech_st/11.1.0/appsutil/scripts/PROD_linux/ . ./adautocfg.sh
and also run /home/junaid/PROD/db/tech_st/11.1.0/appsutil/. ./PROD_linux.env
after start the listener and then database
i have also run this /home/junaid/PROD/apps/apps_st/appl/. ./APPSPROD_linux.env
after when i start the application services i have facing this problem

Is there separate version of vmware for AIX? Can you give me links for VMware AIX please...AFAIK for No, i also find this:

Our customer requirement is of high availability and good utilization of hardware for EBS R12.13 implementation.As per our strategy we want to use Oracle VM(I think it doesn't require any licensing) , RAC 11gR2 and appstier load balancing.We have only two servers to achieve all these.One one node there will be two VMs one for dbtier and another one for appstier and same will be on second server.So this way we will be having four virtual machines on two physical nodes.For all these we will use OEL Linux as Operating system
Please share your experiences , if above deployment model is correct or need further enhancements.

I am a not a newbie and i am trying to do a vision installation of Oracle EBS R12 on my laptop.
I have downloaded Oracle Enterprise Linux release 6 update 3 media pack from edelivery.com and installed Oracle Linux on Vmware workstaion.
Now i want to know what all patches, packages and RPM's are required as a pre-requisite before proceeding with installation of R12.
How to check whether they are already present and how to install them.
I have referred to oracle notes but confused in which points to follow and which to skip.
Please guide.

EBS R12 XML Gateway Integration - Supplier information sync with MAXIMO
Hello Guys.
Recently I'm working on a EBS R12 implementation project, as customer already has MAXIMO application, they would like keep it ask "supplier" information syncronization between Oracle EBS R12 and MAXIMO through Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3
For EBS R12 supplier creation/update screens done, currently I found I can get supplier information out by configuring Oracle APPS adapter within Oracle ESB(Enterprise Service Bus) scenario to catch business events but may not perfect this way.
Then we would like try XML Gateway but seems there're no "supplier" related XML Gateway fit in Oracle Apdater module browser :-(
Appreciate if any one can guide/help........

Installing EBS R12 on Windows Vista Basic
I am trying to install EBS R12 media pack on my computer having Windows Vista Basic.
I could have the installation pass 2 steps out of 5.
But while performing the third step, it is failing with the following error:

Encounter error when installing EBS R12.0.4.6 on OEL5.2
Hi,
I met a problem when I installed EBS R12.0.4.6 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.2.
The installation was interrupted in the step 2 of 5. It showed RW-50004 error. Then when I clicked retry button, the installation continued until the post-instll checks. Only the Enviroment File and DBC File passed the check.
Following is the error logged in the log file:

Installing EBS R12 for Educational purpose ???
Hi there,
I Want to install the EBS R12 for an educational purpose, or in another way just to demonistrate the Installing of it for Students, So is there is a way to install it in one farm without having server hardwares requirements(written below)?? and what about licenses Screen can I skip it ? (which i don't have for sure because im not a company), and Is there is a way to get a meta link support Account without being a company ?? or how much it cost if i want to buy it ...
anyway im welling to install it in this Software & hardware requirements :
Win server 2003 ??( does it need perl installed to Apply some perl scripts ?)
intel core2due 2.0 X 2 with 1.5 GB ram , HD as they wrote from 76GB - 161 GB ( please aproximate the size it needed for this installation due to lack of space )

Oracle EBS R12 - DR setup using Oracle Data Guard
Hi,
Our customer has implemented Oracle EBS R12 (12.0.6) on a Two Node RAC on HP-UX env. The application Tier also has Two Nodes(Admin Tier and Web Tier).
Oracle Clusterware - OCR and Vote Disk are on Raw Devices and the EBS database is on ASM.
Customer wants to implement a DR solution with Oracle Data Guard with only 2 servers - 1 for the Database Tier and 1 for the Application Tier on the DR Site.
I would like to know if this could be done by following note: 452056.1? I would also like to know if there are other useful docs.

Customer escalated this issue to Oracle and they came up with this reply:
They can implement Disaster recovery solution from RAC to NON RAC using Solution A which use RMAN utilities for backup and recovery.
While now AMP Application Management Pack gives the capablitiy to build non RAC from RAC Envioment, In future AMP will be capable also to support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
Details
Solution A - Using RMAN:
For Release 12 customers, you can clone from a RAC to RAC (like to like) or RAC to non-RAC. This is using RMAN scripts to take a copy of the db when it’s in archive mode. if you’re leveraging any disaster recovery tools like data guard, the above solution should work fine…perhaps some fine tuning to the procedures
Solution B - Using AMP in the future release
For Release 11i , Release 12.x customers, AMP would be offering a new cloning solution that wouldn’t have dependency on Rapid Clone. This solution leverages the strengths of EM Grid Control in provisioning or cloning targets such as databases. This would be an advance solution that would support:
o A full-fledged scale down cloning
o Cloning of EBS deployed on Shared File System
o Hot and Cold mode cloning
o Quantifiable reduction in clone time for the entire EBS system
This solution would be leveraging EM grid Control’s DB provisioning pack’s clone utilities, that are quite advanced and support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
The recommendation is to start trialing AMP version 3.0, making the purchase and implementing within the Enterprise. As we release the new version of AMP (release 3.0.1), Customer would be in a better position to quickly implement the latest features
