Hello all,
I was wondering if there is a book out there that gives
instructions on how to do a photo gallery in Flash 8? What I am
trying to do is have a flash image gallery where the thumbnails are
on the bottom and skewed (slightly tilted - so that the thumbnail
in the center is flat, the thumbnails on the left are skewed so
they have a perspective of tilting to face center, and the
thumbnails on the right are the opposite of the ones on the left).
I would also like that line of thumbnails to scroll when the mouse
hovers over the ends of the line of thumbnails (so when the mouse
is on the right side, the thumbnails scroll right, etc.). When a
thumbnail is clicked, a large image if the thumbnail is displayed
centered in the window.
I have seen this type of gallery done, but I have no clue how
to do it. If anyone can let me know where I can find instructions
on how to achieve this, please let me know.

Yes, exactly. Something like that. However, when your mouse
hovers over the right side of the thumbnails, it automatically
scrolls (not just when you click a thumbnail, or when you move the
scroll bar). One modification to this would be that the thumbnails
are smaller and on the bottom of the screen, and when a thumbnail
is clicked, the full size image appears centered on the
stage.

Distiller wont embed duplex instructions HELP!

For some reason i can not get Distiller to embed postscript duplex instruction into the converted PDF. When i send the raw postscript file to the printer is duplex like it should but when i convert the Postscript file to PDF and then print to the printer it only outputs as simplex. When i change the printer properties to duplex it duplexes every page in the the PDF. Any advice or ideas of where i need to look to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.

You cannot do what you wish. Acrobat and Distiller do not support embedding of printer settings for use when the pdf is printed.

Pan & Zoom instructions help

I've wasted tons of time on this, I have a photo (about 7 sec.), and I'm trying set up pan & zoom. Can someone lend me some easy instructions. I've tried messing with the motion tab, but I can't quite figure it out. I just want to start the photo as is, and slowly zoom in during those 7 sec. of the clip. Thanks in advance.

Issue in using ADF Instructions based help

Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 and i am using ADF Instructions based help for fields . By default it is displaying first the description of the field and then followed by the field name provided but as per my requirement it should be the vice versa - First the field name and then the description of the field. How do i achieve the same.

Need help with Mountain Lion downgrade to Snow Leopard

Recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, my daily applications do not work and i am losing patience, I need help downgrading to snow leopard, i have the snow leopard CDS that came with my mac

i have a backup with mountain lion, and i also have a backup from snow leopard,(my goal is to restore my latest backup from mountain lion to snow leopard)
i have backed up my files using time machine AND justcloud
My question is how, i do not want to lose any data, also is there any thing i need to be aware during this process

Downgrade Lion/Mountain Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

Why is Mac Help so slow?

Why is Mac Help so teeth-grindingly slow in Lion? Perhaps because Lion is a download-only OS, Apple seems to have put the entire Help System online, but Surely there is a way to download the help system to my Mac?
It often takes half a minute just to get my search results, and if I do several searches, this really adds up! in addition, if I am downloading something etc. the help system will give me the message that my Mac is not connected to the Internet. Is this normal?
I am much less likely to use the help system now because it works so poorly.

That's probably sufficient, but Help has changed significantly since Snow Leopard, and the X Lab articles don't seem to have been updated since then.

[SOLVED] need help with virtualbox install

I'm a relative n00b to Arch, haging migrated from Ubuntu (pha!!). Arch rocks!
However, my beloved virtualbox isnt playing ball!
After many hours of getting arch up and running I now need some assitance please with VirtualBox PEUL. I've googled and search these wikis and found:

but, I dont know how to install.
I used yaourt (having spent another many hours trying to get to speed with what Arch AUR is and yaourt!!)
This is what I did:
1. Visited http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VirtualBox and followed PEUL instructions...
2. Click on AUR link and then click on PKGBUILD and it downloaded a PKGBUILD from here http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … s=0&SeB=nd
3. Then went back to the wiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VirtualBox and clicked on VirtualBox_1.5.6-1_Linux_x86.run and downloaded the file.
4. In accordance with the instructions on the wiki, I ran makepkg
HOWEVER, I get errors!!:

Can anyone help please? In Ubuntu all this was just installed with dpkg -i VirtualBox.deb
I'm sure Arch is just as "simple" :-)

Good idea, I checked this out originally but it didnt work so I went for "manual" install.
The download from yaourt never starts, just hangs - the server is dead or something?? ...

Just a quick comment about where to copy the Sun .run package. It should be put to where the tarball from AUR was extracted.
In my case, it is /home/[users]/virtualbox-bin/

Can't get the kernel module working in 2.6.25, vbox_build_module completes fine, but I get the following error:
$ sudo modprobe vboxdrv
FATAL: Error inserting vboxdrv (/lib/modules/2.6.25-ARCH/misc/vboxdrv.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
with these messages in dmesg:

Lost software utility? pls help

trying to follow HP confusing and garbled/wrong tech sup. I think I may have deleted some utility functions from my OS.
Do you know how I can check and replace or fix. Have no ink levels, other tools don't work, cannot clean from Mac., only can test pattern with printer button sequence. Prints no blue,green, only thin blue line on hp sunflower logo. HP tech said my cartridge is empty, Office Max said not yet, is software lost. No one knows for sure. This is rediculous and frustrating. Got drivers several times, why are the files so big, gimp messed me up, they hp told me to delete all printer drivers. How where to get what if I need to make work? deskjet895Cse. It worked before when I first got it, only 9 color pages 9x11 on new cartridge. Had trouble keeping the right driver or setup. Please, nothing should be this difficult. Have lost all confidence in HP.

Dear Primative:
People in these forums report varying degrees of success working with HP printers. I had HP walk me through a wireless printer installation and I personally found their instructions helpful and accurate.
HP's tech support page claims that, for printing under Tiger, you don't need to install drivers because they're built-in. Some people don't agree with this statement, but I suggest you follow HP's suggestion before you try other more drastic solutions:
1. Open the "Printer Setup Utility" in Applications-->Utilities
2. From the menu, choose "Reset Printing System." This should delete HP printing queues you have, if any.
3. Click "Add" to add your (connected) printer. I'm assuming it is a USB connection.
If this is successful and your printer is added and appears in the list, selecting it and clicking the "Utility" icon will give you access to the HP Inkjet Toolbox. You'll be able to check ink level, clean and calibrate your printer.

when i want to change to a game,
Tap and hold down the app then tap the x with a circle then tap Delete.
User your iPad for a few days to see if it's stable. If it is, then it's that one app causing the problem.
Contact the app's developer (at their website) for support.

Mackeeper; i just installed, and now i can't get to unistall....HELP

I just installed it, did the free bit, now I can not uninstall it....I tried quiting and putting it in the trash thru applications and it won't go into the trash.

Unfortunately you've installed possibly one of the worse pieces of software available for OSX, based on reports on here and elsewhere. It mucks up many otherwise healthy Macs.

Background music help

Working with iMovie '11. In the middle it quit letting me add background music. It keeps putting .1 of the song I drag into little spaces where the other music clips aren't backed up next to each other. Any ideas???

I would delete all the bits of the background song from your timeline first then try adding the whole track again according to the instructions.

How do I fix an access rights error when launching Image Processor in Adobe Bridge CC?

Often when I am working on files and want to batch process Jpegs for clients I get an error message from Image Processor. It will state "I am unable to create a file in this folder. Please check your access rights to this location ...."
I have cleared cache and up'd my history levels. I checked to make sure the files were not locked and read/write was enabled. I am not sure why this error keeps occurring. I am using Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 (2014.2.2 release) with Adobe Bridge CC (6.1.0.115)

MSI KT3 Ultra ARU - Can\'t install W2K !!

I've just bought my first AMD powered rig and I'm not able to install W2K pro. First let me say I'm not a computer novice and have been handling workstation/server hardware/software for years in the Intel world.
The failure happens at different places in the install, with different results.. sometimes while copying files the system freezes.. sometimes in the middle of a copy i get the BlueSOD... sometimes after copying files when booting into Windows 2000 for the first time the system just reboots to a black screen and is unable to find a boot partition... so we start over and the install deletes copied files and begins again.
KT3 Ultra ARU

Corsair CMX512-3000C2
Pri IDE M - Seagate ST313021A 13GB
Pri IDE S - Sony CDROM CDU6111-F
Sec IDE M - Asus CDRW 4012-A
Sec IDE S - none
Raid Disabled in Bios
Followed Mr.Steveo's guides for hardware installation, flashing BIOS from 5.4 (kept a copy) to 5.5. No problems.
Followed Mr.Steveo's guide for BIOS settings, using his recommendations to the letter, then after failure changed SRRAM freq: to HCLK+66 for 3000C2 ram... BUT still fails.
Additional detail - I lost my original W2KPro CD, and my copy is not bootable... so I'm creating a 2GB DOS partition and booting with a Win98 boot disk to get to the CD and running WINNT from there.
I've gone through the posts on both the AMDMB and MSI forums and seen some insightful suggestions... but nothing that exactly duplicates by problems. Hopefully one of you bright bulbs will be able to light my way. :D
When I get the BSOD I get different STOP errors:
0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
(BIOS or Drivers using improper memory address)
0x0000001E KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
(A kernel mode process tried to execute an illegal or unknown processor instruction)
HELP !!

Back Rev'd the Bios to 5.4 but that didn't help. Back to the forums...
Bas - Thanks for reminding me of the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid). I had simplified the HW but was still altering the Bios settings to where I know they should be.
WELL - I HAVE SUCCESS !!
In further research, (being new to this - remember?) I also find threads saying that I'm supposed to clear the CMOS/NVRAM using a motherboard jumper before powering up the board for the first time and after changing processors. I don't know how accurate that is - maybe someone will be kind enough to elaborate.
I've asked Mr.Steveo in the AMDMB forums if he thinks this step needs to be included in his hardware installation guide. I followed it religiously in my install and it doesn't mention doing this.
Anyway, I got the OS installed. After that, I went back into the Bios and added all suggested settings. I'm getting "2200+" in the boot screens and in the OS.
Now lets finish the install and see if we remain stable. After several days of burnin, I'll OC some to see what I can get.

Have you actually opened these files to see what they are yet? The few Apps I've downloaded (not from iTunes) typically come with a few files. The actual app, the instructions/help/TOU and sometimes an uninstall.
