Instrument not found

Hi
I have a project which I have just moved from an external hard drive into my laptop. I saved it as a new project but copied all the audio and samples folders from the original folder.
Now when I load the project it says 'instrument not found' for all the EXSp24 instruments, even though they are all copied in my EXS library, and in the sample instrument folder of the song.
It only loads the song properly if I leave the old external hard drive plugged in, which I don't want to do. How can I tell Logic to look elsewhere for these instruments?
Thankyou!
Hx

I have a similar problem, after I repaired the directory of a disk that contained all my user EXS sample libraries now Logic Pro 7 doesn't see the sampler instruments. Even though the sample instruments are in the right folder and the EXS samples were in the same place. When I refresh the menu in an EXS instance loaded it still can't find them.
Help!

  • Third party EXS-instruments not found in LP9 after downloading.

    Hi.
    I have downloaded some EXS-instruments that i found online for free. I stored them along with the original EXS-instruments that came with LP9. When i try to load them in LP I get a pop-up saying the instrument was not found. I have refreshed the library, restarted the mac without result. Why is this?
    Thx, Elias

    Read the Logic Studio Instruments manual available in the Help menu.
    Specificially, the section on loading instruments.  It spells out the storage locations.  There's a main LIbrary on the Mac HD, and a user Library.
    The factory instruments are in the main Library (similar to the path above but starting with the Mac HD vs user).
    User instruments go into the user Library.

    hi xs4is, thanks for the reply
    No, that's not the problem, I mean it installs perfectly from the DVD -- no errors, no indication of any problems whatsoever, however when I double click the app to start logic up, instead of starting up I get the error message: The Application Logic Pro has unexpectedly quit. What would you like to do: Close, Reopen, blah blah, not even a splash screen shows up. nothing. I am using Onyx on a regular basis and have been running all cleanup and optimization scripts in it. didn't help at all. And I really don't want to create a second user on my machine -- it's only my machine, nobody else uses it, and I have only had problems with multipe users in the past (especially with authorizations and stuff), but I also don't think it has anything to do with accounts

  • Part 1: Instrument Not Found

    Hi
    At start up I get this message. In three songs actually.
    I don´t seem to miss any instruments in the songs.
    What is it?
    JanD

    Did you ever install a demo instrument?
    It might be in your audio environment somewhere
    Look at the audio config page and see if there is an old plug in somewhere, probably greyed out.

  • EXS 'Not found ' errors

    Cheers Logic-aires,
    Can anyone confirm if there is a fix for the EXS24 issue concerning samples/instruments 'Not found' messages that now plague this soft sampler in LP9?
    Boe

    iv done something a few times or so which i worked when the EXS mysteriously suddenly couldnt find the samples which were there every other time before..... maybe i was just lucky and im still on L8 & Leopard though give it a try.
    All my user EXS libraries are on an external and when they couldnt be found i deleted the alias and dragged the original back to Mac HD/Users/Library/Logic/Application Support/Sampler Instruments.
    then i open up logic and the EXS. Refresh menu and it found them. then i dragged them back to my external, delete the copy in the default location,option command and drag an alias back to default Mac HD/Users etc...
    Refresh ( maybe i cleared the instrument) and they have all still been found ever since.
    If they were in the default i think i dragged them out onto desk top and then moved them back.
    this was about 4 months ago but that was more or less it unless it was witch craft

  • Getting a file not found error with jam pack instruments

    Since Logic Express no longer works with the current Mac OS X versions, I'm trying to get used to using GarageBand again while I save up to buy the full Logic Package.  I had purchased all of the jam packs years ago and recently also purchased Main Stage.  Now, when I go to use, for example, an instrument from the Orchestral jam pack, I get a message saying "EXS24 instrument “Cellos.exs”: Audio file “VC-L_legato_f_C2.wav” not found!" with the option to continue or search again.  Clicking "search again" always ends up with the same message.  This is driving me nuts!  Pretty ****** off right now that I can't use what I paid money for.  Isn't this stuff supposed to "just work"?  Or did that die with Steve Jobs?

    same Problem: Working with OS X 10.6.8 on a MacBookPro Santa Rosa and Logic Pro: Its not possible to use the cello.exs 'cos missing audio file “VC-L_legato_f_C2.wav”, same problem with Basses.exs (missing KB-L_legato_f_A#1.wav) and the  Piano. All this broken Instruments are from the Jam pack Orchestra Library.

    Method not found: 'Void National Instruments.LabVIEW.Interop.LV Runtime.throw MissingDependencyException()'.
    My colleague created a Labview DLL for me to use in .NET.
    I have tried getting this DLL to work in 3.5 framework however it only worked on framework 2.0.
    I recently tried again and now it will not work in framework 2.0 or any available frameworks.
    He is using Labview 2011.
    I am a little baffled as to how the application just stopped working. The National Instruments Runtime I am using is Labview 2011, version 1.1.0.0. The labview dll he gave me is using 1.1.0.0 as well. I have tried using 1.0.0.0 and I get an error saying there is a mismatch.
    In addition, for some reason I was never successful in making this work in 3.5, and now I can't make it work in 2.0 either.
    Any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried re-installing the runtime engine, tried different versions like labview 2013 but no luck...
    Everything works except when I call the dll procedure:
    LabVIEWExports.AxBClusterArrays(out ERR, out OUTDLL, INDLL);
    My Code:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Windows.Forms;
    using NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop;
    using InteropAssembly;
    namespace WindowsFormsApplication1
    public partial class Form1 : Form
    public Form1()
    InitializeComponent();
    private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    InteropAssembly.LVCluster_1 OUTDLL = new InteropAssembly.LVCluster_1();
    InteropAssembly.LVCluster_2 INDLL = new InteropAssembly.LVCluster_2();
    double[] TestA = new double[1];
    double[] TestB = new double[1];
    for (int runs = 0; runs < 1; runs++)
    TestA[runs] = 1;
    TestB[runs] = 1;
    INDLL.A = TestA;
    INDLL.B = TestB;
    NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.ErrorCluster ERR = new NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.ErrorCluster();
    MessageBox.Show(NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.FrameworkVersion.Fx35.ToString());
    try
    //LabVIEWExports LVE = new LabVIEWExports()
    LabVIEWExports.AxBClusterArrays(out ERR, out OUTDLL, INDLL);
    catch (Exception f)
    MessageBox.Show(f.Message.ToString());

    Figured it out, I thought we where using Labview 2011, however it was Labview 2011 SP1.
    Thus i had to install the runtime envioment 2011 SP1.

  • Old problem new angle:EXS24 instrument audio file not found -but its THERE!

    So I know this has been posted on before, but I've read the forums and my problem seems slightly different.
    Was trying to open tenor sax, or alto sax.
    Created a new EXS24 track. In the Logic Studio Library it comes up with a long list of folders, bottom is '12 Legacy Instruments', inside that all there is is '05 Horns and Woodwinds' and '08 Drum Kits'. I go into Horns and Woodwinds, there are my instruments. When I click them it says not found.
    I checked in my finder window, (application support/Logic/Sampler Instruments/ 12 Legacy Instruments/05 Horns and Woodwinds). They ARE there. So that baffles me.
    Now, someone said on another forum its because they arent in the right place and SHOULD be in garage band (application support/garage band/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Files/12 Legacy Instruments/05 Horns and Woodwinds), so I copied them from the previously described Logic destination to there.
    They STILL aren't working. It seems like Logic is looking in the right place but it says it cant find them?!
    Please help!
    (P.S - Annoyingly if it comes to reinstalling Logic Studio, I don't think I can do that. I bought my Mac Mini off ebay, and have forgotten the admin password, and have no OS discs to reset it. So until I can do that, I can't install anything (as you need the admin password. Any solutions that don't involve reinstalling Logic gratefully welcomed!)

    What I think you have to do is refresh the Spotlight index. Open the prefpanel Spotlight, go to the Privacy Tab, put all your disks on it (just drag 'm), close the panel, reopen it, remove the disks, close the panel, let your Mac sit for an hour or so while it is creating Spotlight indeces from scratch. Use *Activity Monitor* to check if Spotlight is done indexing. If you see MDS or MDWorker still active (=using CPU), it is not done.
    O and BTW, you should create an account for yourself of which you do have the admin password, or you will not be able to solve many possible problems.

  • New software instruments installed but not found to use

    Help please
    I have downloaded 3 new AMG expansion, synth and power packs in garageband 08' running on a g5 with leopard os and though they appear on the HD where they should (HD/library/garageband/instrument library/sampler/sampler instrument) they are not found once inside garageband-new software track instruments.
    Why is this happening and how can newly installed software instruments appear for use inside a track?
    Thanks!

  • Why is Logic is saying that instruments are not found?

    Logic is saying that instruments such as pop horns and several others are not found, could somebody please tell me how to fix this? I currently have Logic 9 express. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there, mordway.
    The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for the issue you're describing:
    iPhone: Compatibility message appears when connected to a 'Made for iPhone' accessory
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1505
    The iPhone dock connector is free of any debris.
    The "Made for iPhone" accessory's connector is free of debris.
    The iPhone is securely connected to the accessory—that is, it is not sitting crookedly within an iPhone dock and making only partial connection.
    Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

    Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
    Update to the latest version of iTunes.
    Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
    Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.

    Hello,
    Is it possible to take another picture of MAX? That one is very pixilated and I can't quite make out the configuration/error. Does the chassis show up? Every now and then MXI compatibility software is needed for certain BIOS versions so this may be the cause. Did the system work ever before?
    Thanks,
    Eric E.
