Have you created the Instance through oradim utility??
No need to create the password file in window because if you create the instance through oradim utility then automatically password file is created??

Itunes wont open and when re-installed received this msg: Service Apple mob device failed to start.  You have insufficent privileges to start system svc.  Help?

Download Itunes from Apple.com, not from within Itunes.
Redo the install, following the below procedure.   However, when you re-install Itunes,  right click and run the install as administrator.   For Win 7, you have to hold down the cntrl and shift keys when you right click and then "run as administrator" will be an option.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Vista, Win 7 & later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

How do I correct this to download iTunes so it will run?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Hi,
i am trying to implement database vault on oim 11g r2 database for a customer proof of concept, but after enable database vault i am got the following error
oracle.iam.ui.platform.exception.OIMRuntimeException: IAM-7130125 : Search token caused Oracle text DRG issue, DB exception is :ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:

    ORA-06512: at line 1
this error occurs when i run Catalog Synchronization Job and i when try to search items in catalog
i guess that database vault blocked the ctxapp role granted to oim database owner, but i am not sure how to fix it. Do i have to create a database realm for oim database user?

As I continue to forage around looking for an answer, I came across the following statement in a document on Metalink: "The home where you plan to install ODV must already have OLS installed at the same patch level as the database.". Is this correct? I have never seen this in any Database Vault documentation.

  • Error message Installer has insufficent privileges to modify this C:\Progra

Been having lots of problems - vista - Quicktime downloaded ok, now itunes gives message in subject line...ANY SUGGESTIONS

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Rman connect - requires different privilegies than sqlplus?

    Hello!
    Linux x86, Oracle 10.2.0.2
Im going to do an Duplicate (connect target sys/bla@bla catalog rman/bla@bla auxillary /
catalog and aux works fine, however i willl get insufficent privilegies on the target connect
Host A: New Host to duplicate to
    Host B: Old Host
    Backupset: On Tape
I can connect (sqlplus) with sys from Host A to Host B, and vice versa. But i cant connect to Host B within rman from host A. Port 1521 is opened, and since sqlplus connection works i just assums that rman works aswell, no?
Thank you for any direction with this!

Can you try reversing where you run the rman duplicate from, so,
On host A (where the source of the duplicate is):

  • Privilege and roles Question

    Hi All
    I did a queries
    SELECT GRANTEE, PRIVILEGE,GRANTABLE FROM DBA_TAB_PRIVS
    WHERE TABLE_NAME='TABLE1' AND GRANTEE IN ('USER1', 'USER_ROLE');
    GRANTEE        PRIVILEGE       GRANTABLE
    USER1 SELECT NO
    USER1 INSERT NO
    USER1 DELETE NO
    USER1 UPDATE NO
    USER_ROLE SELECT YES
    USER_ROLE INSERT YES
    USER_ROLE DELETE YES
    USER_ROLE UPDATE YES
    SELECT 'ROLE' TYP, GRANTEE, GRANTED_ROLE, ADMIN_OPTION FROM DBA_ROLE_PRIVS WHERE GRANTEE ='USER1';
    TYP      GRANTEE   GRANTED_ROLE   ADMIN_OPTION
    ROLE USER1 CONNECT NO
    ROLE USER1 RESOURCE NO
    ROLE USER1 USER_ROLE NO
My question is since the USER1 is granted the role of USER_ROLE, will it cause conflict to the table privilege?
Because I can't perform Insert when I'm using USER1. It give me an error of ORA-01031L insufficent privileges SQL source: ..

Since you did not mention how you are performing the Inserts/DML's on the TABLE1, and you are facing privileges issues, I presume you are performing it from a PL/SQL Block. However, the priviliges acquired via a Role are not valid in Function/Procedure. You need to have explicit privileges to perform an action in Function/Procedure.
Even without the privilege, you would be able to perform the Inserts/DML's as in static SQL statements that are not contained in PL/SQL blocks.
    Try:
    grant insert on table1 to user1;

  • Problems with User Privileges - Help required Novice Server Experience

Hi, We have an old Xserve runing Mac OS X 10.2.8.
I have shared the 3 drives out no problem. The problem I have is with Workgroup Manager 1.2.2. I have set 4 User accounts with their own username and password to access the drives which works fine, but if one User modifies a file or puts a new file on to the Server another user has only read access to that file from the server, and if they try to copy the file/folder to their local machine a warning box comes up saying that they have Insufficent Privileges.
It seems each User can only work on their individual files which is problem when we all need access to the same files/folders.
What do I need to do?
    Many Thanks
    Richard

    Hi Richard.
You need to create a Group, and add all of your Users to that Group.
Make the owner of the sharepoint your admin account (who can be added to the Group, or not), and make the Group , well, the new Group you've created.
Set permissions for the Group to Read & Write.
In Workgroup Manager, Sharing, Share Points
select AFP and then choose “Inherit permissions from parent"
This is all in the 10.2 Server Admin, worth reading. The 10.4 docs are far better and it's a worthwhile upgrade if that's in the cards at all.

  • ITunew won't let me update/install new Itunes nor let me uninstall

So i open my computer and says it has to update. I press ok and it updates. When I come back, i reopen Itunes and it has the message saying Windows is configuring this thing or whatever. After awhile, it says i do not have permission to do this action. I find the next reasonable solution. To delete and re install. So i go to uninstall programs and I try to uninstall it. It then says The installer has insufficent privileges to modify this file: and then states the file called Acknowledgements.rtf. This is when I start to get annoyed. I then find next reasonable action. I redownload the installer and when it starts running, there are to options. Repair or Uninstall. I choose uninstall and it shows me the same message earlier. I then press repair and then it gives me the same message again. I now have nothing to do and can't open Itunes nor uninstall or install. So basically now my itouch can only recharge and can't get new music . HELP. IM RIPPING MY HAIR OUT>

When I try to open iTunes, I get this error message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I've been able to uninstall all Apple products except iTunes as I get this error message: "The Installer has insufficent privileges to modify this file: C:\Program Files\i Tunes\Acknowledgments.rtf." I've had the iTunes on my laptop for a year and a half with no problems until now.

    Any suggestions please?

I have a UNIX script through which i call a procedure. In that procedure i have two statements

    Any Help ??

Which is the exact Oracle message error do you have ?
What is your Oracle version ?
    if you get
"ORA-01650 unable to extend rollback segment ... by ... in tablespace ...", you could extend one of your rollback segment tablespace datafile with:
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE .... RESIZE ... or add a new datafile to the tablespace:
ORA-01650 unable to extend rollback segment string by string in tablespace string
Cause: Failed to allocate an extent for rollback segment in tablespace.
Action: Use ALTER TABLESPACE ADD DATAFILE statement to add one or more files to the tablespace indicated.

  • Passwords Lost

    Hello,
We have taken over administering a db and we do not have the repository owner or sysman for OMS, user name or password. The database is up and running but we need to move it to a new server. Any suggestions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have looked through most of these postings and the need me to use alter user but when I try that logged in as sysdba I get a message saying that I have insufficent privileges. I believe I need to log in as the repository owner and no where was there a way to reset the repository owner especially since I don't know the username. Again any help will be appreciated. I tried the os authentication as well but still got permissions problems. Thanks.
